    Do you watch auction sites for building materials ? I am an efficient shopper aka "tightass" you have to be patient and set a price limit then dont go past it on the close of auction , Everything your mind can conceive of can be found at auction , windows , steel , timber , taps ..... good luck.

    Great to see you dealt with the problem of council approvals to build where you are , I have been looking for land in NSW for 3 years and 95 % of the farms i look at have Terrestrial Biodiversity or Environmental ratings that would prevent me from building a home , it sucks . So much land here now has " No dwelling entitlement" so you cant build a house , cant live there and cant farm to produce food either. The land where i could build a home is usually over a million bucks . cant afford it. Sick of banging my head on a brick wall .... . At least you're having a win there ... awesome you .

    Thank you, Jasmine! Another stellar video despite the trauma with the neighbor dog & Roo. Can’t imagine how hard & nerve-racking scary that was to hold the dog off & protect the Roo. You are a beautiful soul, Jas 💫💫 … sending healing energy for your throat❣️ Amazing persistent work on trying to find a way to improve the auger … love your ingenuity … $&@!🤬 that it didn’t work … somehow I know you will find a way! You always do for everything! 💪🏼💪🏼 The ongoing surprises: Far out Brussel Sprout🤗, a butterfly clapping for you, Jango hanging out as you run around measuring & putting posts in for deck, a Dam product called “Damit” (OK I know it is a real product but I couldn’t stop laughing for some reason🤪), all Boss Lady appearances 💜 & then for a little something to do while you give your arms a break … working on your fab cruiser! Thanks for the never-ending inspiration. Sunday I was out in the sun hand brush cutting summer growth for hours & every time I wanted to give up I thought about you blazing your path toward your dream & I picked up the brush cutter again & went back to work on mine🙏🏽💜 Hope the sunshine holds & you & fam have a magical week💜💜💜

    You're an absolute powerhouse Jess! When you said that you have a small star picket driver I didn't realise that it was that small. If you are planning on more pickets get a bigger one, honestly it will save you in the long run. On the topic of ground screws - pre-drill about quarter the length but (if you can) slightly smaller diameter than the screw, fill with water and wait till the water has soaked in. The screw should be a little easier, if not do again with the water you want it firm when the screw goes in.

    Hi Jas, sorry to hear that you lost your voice - I bet that was nerve racking trying to get the dog off of the Roo - hopefully none of them got hurt. (Sage & Lemon tea is good for sore/worn out throats!!) When I first saw you with the last roof panel I thought that is what was going up on this video - was quite surprised hahaha... so you have taken on another major task - I'm sure your vision is coming into fruition the way you want it, can't wait to see the end result. Plus doing up your vehicle too - a girl of many talents!! I have clay soil too and I know how beastly that can be just driving in garden stakes, let along what you are trying to do - I have no suggestions (I ain't a builder), but I am sure there are a few people who follow your journey who would know. Have a great week and I'm looking forward to seeing next weeks vid xx

Yess I need a way of getting off the roof when the last sheet is up so I can’t quite put it up there yet but I’m thinking if I make the wrap around deck first I’ll actually have a level base to put some scaffolding on! 🤞 It’s honestly the toughest soil hey, I’ve definitely got a massive job in front of me 🥵 Thank you so much and have a great week ☺️🙏

And as I sit watching in my comfortable chair nursing a hot cup of coffee, I find that it makes me feel like I'm... lazy. So I would agree with your idea of a slightly smaller than the ground fixings auger bit before tightly turning it in, as it's the same theory for pre-ripping holes for screws. I bought an amazon-quality one for my regular drill that's about the right size that I just use to turn compost and prep garden holes for transplanting and it goes through packed earth here easy enough to be worth testing with if you wanted to

      It’s actually the best I couldn’t do the build without it, don’t think I could handle the noise of the generator non stop and the amount of fuel I would be going through 😂 Yeah I think I’ll try the masonry bit then size up to a smaller auger bit and then hopefully work my way up to the ground screw 😂🙏

  • @seanchristie7150
    @seanchristie7150 День тому

    Fantastic problem solving, I would definitely try a long 40mm auger on an impact drill as a pilot hole or if you can find an auger but with wider flutes. Learnt the hard way that water will not improve the situation in clay, had to wait a week for the hole to dry out.

    • @Building.a.Dream-Barefoot_Jas
      @Building.a.Dream-Barefoot_Jas День тому

      Yess to this! I agree water doesn’t help at all for this job because I need the screw to be in there tight and secure! I’m planning to grab a 400mm masonry bit for the drill and hopefully a bit bigger thin long auger bit and hopefully work my way up to the ground screw ☺️🙏
