As a retired Welder/Electrician.. DO NOT use the old welding hood if it has any scratches in the lens.. It will let the UVR light in and do Much damage to ur delicate Eyes.. Thanx and weld safely.. 😁

Your smashing it out now. You’ve definitely got the welding down pat. You little tradie.
Those delica’s kick ass, they have really proved to be a great 4by.
With all the rain you’ve received over the winter period, shows that, you can now plan around it. It also means, that all your future water plans, will be easier to design and also guarantee to be very efficient.
I had a giggle when you took the crew (family) with you to your appointment.
I have until now …. can honestly say, I’ve been all over this country and been overseas a fair bit and in all my experiences I have never seen a chook at the beach hahaha!!!

      G’day Jasmin,
      I forgot to mention,
Do send the grinder back, not only are they bloody heavy but when they grip and kick, they’re dangerous.
If you buy a cheap drop saw with the cutting disc blade, that would slice through your flat bar easily.
Personally I’d stick with the hand grinder (115 or 125 mm) for slicing through the sheet metal.

LOVE the video. It is so much more fun to watch you work on your projects than to tear into mine. Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration. Those welds look GREAT, especially for a beginner. And congratulations on fully sealing the roof on the first try.
Just a thought - you obviously need to create solid structural integrity to hold the containers together, but you do not need to do that much welding to accomplish that. Unless your plan is to have the welds exposed, which looks great as a style for the interior, you can shorten the overall time you are working on this stage by welding enough to add to strength and then going back over the seams with any of a number of sealing products.
Keep up the great work! you are now my new favorite Sunday morning treat! Well, your videos. Meant nothing creepy about that at all...

I cannot believe how fast your dam filled, that’s crazy, and you can’t even raise the walls because you would have to dismantle the jetty.

I love that weather - it's 37 deg here. I also get a kick out of how the chicken talks to itself. Wanna trade places?
Noticed the power strip connected to the grinder. You might want to get some fatter extension cords (particularly when using the welder); be sure the power strip is rated for the power tool amperage, and (if you don't already) keep your electronics power separate from the power tools; it's better for the life (and health) of everything involved. 😃 But then, you're probably already aware of these things...

Hi Jaz, just some welding tips for you. With new steel it has skale on the surfaces to protect it, if you use a flapper disc to knock off the edges where you're welding it will be easier and a better weld. And big cap use tig wire as a filler to build up the gap while mig welding. Awesome work as usual

  • @mikeholley4488
    @mikeholley4488 19 днів тому +1

You definitely need an overflow drain pipe that stops water from running across your dam, it should run through a culvert instead. Not like you have much to do there anyways. Lol. Keep going. Closer everyday. Not many have the bollocks to take on a project of this scale. You are amazing with a great spirit.

Good call on the 9 inch mate, had a mate who was using one squatting when the blade exploded and cut a big hole in his groin just missing his junk…not pretty. Other options for cutting steel is an oxy kit or a circular saw with a tungsten blade. I have used them myself and they are quick cutting and lightweight
