    Crunch channel surprised me, I also was expecting more or less the same sound but I agree, the JSX sounds more like a hot rod Marshall and the XXX ii sounds more Mesa like metal tones, less mid, colder harder and heavier. Both sound great but I definitely prefer what I am hearing out of the JSX! Miss mine!

    I've been thinking about going the Synergy route here lately and getting one of the RM100s. I didnt even know about Salvation Audio until this video, but apparently he also makes single channel modules. I can more easily justify spending $400 on a new "amp" every so often than I can a couple thousand dollars.

      @@DeathMetalDevin I find myself really frustrated and irritated by these cheap, low-quality sounds. They lack depth, creativity, and any sense of uniqueness, which makes them hard to tolerate. It's like hearing the same dull, uninspired noise over and over again, and it’s really getting under my skin. Honestly, these sounds are really starting to get on my nerves. They're not just cheap, they feel completely lifeless and uninspired, like someone threw them together without any thought or care. There's no richness or variation, just the same bland noise we've all heard a thousand times before. It's frustrating because instead of adding anything interesting or original, they just drag down the whole experience. It's hard to stay engaged or excited when all I hear is this repetitive, generic stuff!

    • @DeathMetalDevin
      @DeathMetalDevin 9 днів тому

      @Oli_507 maybe you should start up a channel and show us all how it's done. This video was a very quick run through with these amps with setting I like on each. Just falls under personal preference and the control here is having the same mics and same cab for everything I played through. This isn't a video of mixing the amps to sound like a generic commercial mix. Hence raw dawg....

    • @Oli_507
      @Oli_507 9 днів тому

      @@DeathMetalDevin Yes maybe now I’m going to launch a channel to show how sound should truly be done, avoiding the usual pitfalls of generic, raw, and over-commercialized sounds. I want to break away from the typical, repetitive noise that’s everywhere and showcase something that stands out. My goal is to create unique, high-quality sound that isn’t just different for the sake of being different, but because I know exactly how to craft it with depth and originality. I’m confident in my vision and can’t wait to share a fresh approach that really redefines what people expect from sound without relying on Neural DSP, top tube amps, or other expensive plugins or Fractals

    Love this comparison, really well done even with the limited gear vs. your regular setup! Just got the 5150iii Stealth and I was concerned it was a bit noisy, but listening back to the pauses between playing I think I hear the same thing with your setup - but I also hear it cut off occasionally? did you end up using any kind of noise gate for either amp or anywhere in the signal chain? (I ended up putting one in the FX loop to get rid of the noise created by running the volume / gain higher, seems the floor noise was what I was hearing) Subscribed!

      Between KSR and Seymour Duncan, go KSR. For a SS poweramp, definitely go with the Quilter ToneBlock 202 (FullQ voice) or Orange Pedal Baby. The SD Powerstage feels artificial by comparison. Pedal Baby is plug and play but it imparts an Orange ‘woolines’ With the Quilter, you can crank the volume for more headroom and use the gain knob for volume. Quilter offers more clarity. Edit: Those are just 2 similar options I’d recommend over the SD PowerStage. There are a bunch of good SS poweramps.
