I saw them about a week or so before this gig in Dublin at the SFX. This is exactly what they sounded like. The sound was ferocious and the band blew everyone away. McCabe was incredible! As were the whole band. The best gig I have ever attended. Love them - and I always will.

One of the best fucking live sets ever. They were it. Jonestown, Spiritualized, the Spacemen, even Oasis never got to this kind of peak. This is music.

I love the “yeah!!!“ screamed right before the chorus on “Make It a’Til Monday”😅 right on cue!

Does anyone know like if they had a dedicated echo/reverb unit for Richard's vocals? When we were touring in the 2010's we'd always just request the sound guy, "turn the reverb all the way up" and it'd often be a fiasco. It'd be neat if there was a channel on the delay where Nick and Dick were like sharing an echo so it blends and shit. Anyway. Long live the Verve. Greatest fucking band ever.

It's like I go back in time and Nick somehow is playing Theremin and guitar at the same time. It's like the Twilight Zone or some shit. Rock n' roll!

That version of 'on your own' was everything to me back then. I could listen on repeat 20 or 30 times on the spin. Takes some beating for me.

amazing recording quality. This is really great sound! I`m a big fan of RHCP with life concerts, and understand how a lot of reverb and delay in case of Verve make playing easier and sounds 'bigger', but OMG I`m impressed how Verve played life, wow maybe a sometimes i more like it than RHCP shows. IMO.

Back in 1998ish I was in Warrington. A guy with a bit of a speech impediment claimed to be a former drummer of the band. BTW he was a great guy.

Brilliant setlist of their earlier stuff. 32:00 makes me laugh and simultaneously sink my head when the guy asks his mate "do you like them?" then comments " every song sounds like waterfall by the stone roses though!"😂😂 The stones roses they clearly are not! I'm not sure what he was listening to!!🤦😆

Gravity grave is just epic! That rolling bass and Nick's wizardry on the guitar make it an endless groove of rock delight!👏

Not sure how you got this....but fuck me what a lovely surprise... I worked as a busboy upstairs and came down to see this as all my pals were ...."You GottA SEE THIS BAND!!!" I think it was a Tuesday. I love your videos ...I love this band... please continue. so happy. thanks. Year later Oasis played same room and my pal dragged me off the street to see the soundcheck with 8 people. they played 4 songs. mighty cool. wild watching them with 12 people.

Yes, this is the right evolution of british rock from madchester and shoegaze, sounding almost ambient/electronic.

When I listen to the British live recordings there’s always people in the crowd either being totally apathetic or sometimes outright insulting the band. In the American recordings there’s always so much love. These American crowds fuckin love these guys
