Mighty. Mega. Bigger than you and I. Cuts through the mountains. Rides atop the tidal wave. There was a storm in the Verve. It changed the landscape. I still have the scars. Magnificent.
the incredible thing about this set, is that it conceptually pulls later songs like This Is Music and Rolling People into the early Verve sonic territory. Even Blue sounds like its being dragged through an earlier more psychedelic version. Pure McCabe magic here. Imagine if this layered version of Rolling People had made it onto UH.... It sounds fucking amazing.
Didn’t think much of it at the concert. But now it’s kind of cool to have seen The Verve and parts of Oasis at the same stage. 29 minutes in. A major mistake of the organisers of the festival was to put the verve, Primal scream and oasis at the same B&B at the same time.
One of the best fucking live sets ever. They were it. Jonestown, Spiritualized, the Spacemen, even Oasis never got to this kind of peak. This is music.
I remember seeing Verve supporting Smashing Pumpkins on their Siamese Dream tour in the Manchester Academy, Verve blew the Pumpkins off this planet, they were incredible, such energy, that noise from heaven, Mad Richard dancing like a demented banshee on hot coal, McCabe's cherry Es335 guitar screaming through a Marshall JCM800 stack, fuck I miss that band ......
One of the best ever. Maybe the Frankfurt set is a touch better, but this still captures their sonic maginificence with wonderful clarity and its a great 'transition' gig for those completist people out there.
1993 my first daughter was born. (3 more after!). Richard, Nick & the Verve were always in the background. Still listening today...Richard reminds me of early Genesis Peter Gabriel
amazing recording quality. This is really great sound! I`m a big fan of RHCP with life concerts, and understand how a lot of reverb and delay in case of Verve make playing easier and sounds 'bigger', but OMG I`m impressed how Verve played life, wow maybe a sometimes i more like it than RHCP shows. IMO.
Excellent set. The Rolling People AND This Is Music! The Sun, The Sea as opener too! Very rare!
The best Gravity Grave ever
omg it really is. die happy now

Totally agree. A great sonic-heavy set, my favourite Verve style, those layers of floating guitar phrases, so cool.
One of best bootleg cassettes doing the rounds in the 90s. Great set
I was there. Some psychadelic had been taken. Most amazing concert ever seen.

There's a reason old Dick stole J. Spaceman's girlfriend. It's because he was fucking better.

Also, great to see how Rolling People progressed 👌🏻✨
I didn't know this existed. Wonderfull gig and as I remember it one of the ones I've ever seen. ❤
The most underrated band i've ever known! Thank you!
Gosh, this is good! Great to gear THIS IS MUSIC in its early incarnation. Mega! McCabe is outstanding
weird listening to this now. The same time difference as 60's music when we first heard VERVE.....timeless x.
Sublime. Think they're my scans as well!

The Verve were on a completely different level compared to the bands they are often lumped in with (Oasis). McCabe is such a masterful player.
