    Do you normally try to dry launch your boat or wet launch? Also My canoe is 64 lbs [Penobscot ] I love that old boat but I need something lighter if I'm going to stay out there. How do you like your North Wind and how heavy is it? Thanks for another great video. I am a fan.

      I try to wet foot whenever possible. Sometimes when I am not thinking I run it aground. due to that she needs some maintenance this winter. I love my boat. It has a lot of tumblehome so it has poor primary stability making it feel tippy when you get in and out but it is very stable on the move. It has more than enough room for gear for longer trips. I believe the weight is 27 pounds. Very light. Thanks for the kind words.

    • @hemlocksandloons
      @hemlocksandloons Місяць тому

      I assume you are talking about backpacking to the site and not canoeing. The deer campsites are not really accessible by foot. At least not by trail. You would have to bushwhack from forest road 6320. From the road you can get there in 20 minutes. From the canoe landing they are only about 300 feet off the lake. If I misunderstood please let me know and will do my best to get you the correct info.
