    I can really relate being born in Soviet Union. Luckily at least my personal home was a safe place because of two people I was privileged to be born to. But for kids born to violent abusive adults there is nowhere to go. Taliban creates reality were woman depends on man's kindness / whims

    Feminist have tried to destroy women's rights in our own country on top of other very destructive policies to even our children. They are hypercrites and liars. They have taken on some of the worst characteristics of undisciplined men. Feminism is now a dirty word. The pain and tortured lives of women throughout the world have no place in the world of Feminists anymore. It's just the want for power and money. I stand by Israel who respects women's rights and not a Fanatical religious that is the most violent, misogynistic culture on earth whose priority is to bring the rest of the world inline with their fanatical beliefs and with kill and torture to do it ~

    So, just as a side-note, I'm curious about the comment you make, Karen, that "It would be better if someone from Luxor was teaching those little Egyptian girls boxing, than you, as a westerner., but there was no one there to do it." My question is "Why?" Why do you think you need to justify teaching them by adding that disclaimer? Why would that somehow be better? And, if you teach little girls there, doesn't that make it possible that then one of them would go on in years to come, to continue teaching little girls there? I just don't get the liberal POV that sharing knowledge with others is somehow superior if it comes from someone that "looks like them" or is the same nationality, or gender or whatever. That aside, the video and the story are fascinating. And I love the addition of Yasmine's POV and comments to Karen's. Just an excellent show.

    Honestly, the west ability is limited. While US presence in Afghanistan is not without flaws, it was an opportunity for the afghans to build an army under its government, as was encouraged. But the army was weak and corrupt, and so was the government that (poorly) financed it. If Afghanistan isn't run by people with its interest in heart, no Western intervention could salvage it.

    I think in the west, so many have seen the terrible, violent behaviour of Afghani men (especially towards women) over here, and with the resurgence of the Taliban, it's almost as if people have accepted that that is the way most people think in these theocracies, thus there is nothing for us to do. Because they want it like that over there. It's their culture.

    For a contract to be applicable in Egypt it would have to be written according to the laws of the land, did your daughter study Egyptian law to be able to write this contract you speak of? An American contract and an Egyptian contract are extremely different. A lot of what you are saying does not sound correct, lest I say you are lying.

    Yeah, probably true. But it seems like we all pick and choose when we care about things, don't we? The same Western media and politicians pretending to care about Muslim women's rights then switch up and applaud weapons to Israel...that tear tens of thousands of Muslim women into pieces. It comes across very lame when most of these entities cannot stay consistent. If we care, then just care. Don't pick and choose. CNN and BBC does this all the time.

    Mina seems lovely. Her family is clearly not in favour of the Taliban and I feel for her. However, it is hard for me to understand how many people want to live under the Taliban. I watched videos of many women saying that the taliban is Islamic and let them live according to the Quran. That the west don’t understand their desire to live under Islam. I tend to think, this is what they want. They didn’t want the USA there. It is a little bit like the Palestinians, we really don’t know how many want to live under Hamas. How many genuinely support Hamas when you can’t speak freely. I watched videos of Afghan men saying that they treat their women like treasures out of view. That this is the right way to live. I just can’t relate and a part of me feels we should not interfere. Yes they live like that and don’t value women’s rights - but they seem to be happy like that (or at least the men do).

    • @rachelu123
      @rachelu123 21 годину тому

      Yes this may be the bigotry of low expectations, but they don’t seem to want Western intervention. Why don’t countries like Kuwait/Saudi/UAE/Oman/Bahrain - rich gulf states help the ummah ? Why should Canada, USA, UK, Australia be involved in this? I think this girl is definitely suffering and lives a dreadful life, but I struggle to relate to their Islamic culture and desire to live under sharia

      @@rachelu123 I keep wondering, wishing the other Muslim countries would welcome Afghan women to come to their countries and be educated... Better than rotting their brains in Afghan. They could try and pressure the Taliban to save the lives of women. That women doctors will help their own mothers, and sisters. Such, horrible, backwards men.

    • @rachelu123
      @rachelu123 3 години тому

      @ it’s also a prison of the mind. If you really believe in Islam, then you will believe that you and your testimony is worth less than that of a man. You may begin to feel you belong in the house. I think the women are also mentally imprisoned, and might believe this is the right way to live. Of course we won’t know their real thoughts. Yasmine’s book taught me that Islam mentally crippled her and the women in her life. Her mother was a product of the Islamic way of thinking, abusive and controlling. I think some women, not all, some, are more comfortable living like this. I saw a woman a few weeks ago in Australia walking behind her husband in the suburbs of Sydney wearing a niqab. Someone like that might want to live in an Islamic state and be subjugated.

    For these women to have any kind of freedom Taliban has to be overthrown there's no question. Western powers can easily do this in few days. Question is who is ready and responsible enough to fill the void of governance that will become. Are these people happy to be ruled by Western Democratic countries or even the thriving Israel. They want to enjoy the freedoms of a free society. Just saying we want freedom is not enough, these people need to be realistic and allow democracy

    Why has the Feminist Movement become impotent when it comes to infringement on women's rights.

    • @emilyemily444
      @emilyemily444 20 годин тому

      Unfortunately, the vast majority of women that would need to fight (safely) for these rights, come from a totally different world, where they think advocating for doing OF & being a 'girl boss to earn that bag' is all that matters🤦🏻‍♀️ Of course, there still are those who are educated enough that fight for real rights, but the numbers are too small for it to make any type of difference. I used to take pride in the word feminist (years ago when it had meaning of just wanting to be treated equally, not special treatment) but now I stay far away from it.

  • @infinity-r8f

    29:31 The government of Afghanistan is legit because the majority of them wanted izlamic laws and there is not doubt about this, but only a small number of people who are educated and rational thinkers are against it. I am totally against invading and attacking countries to help the minorities, in a country where the majority of people belong to same ideology, it's against the rules of humanism, but I am totally in favor of helping the minorities by bringing them out of those countries and relocating them in a humanitarian countries. The minorities are people who are ex-muzlims, or people belong to other ideologies or religions.

    • @serpentines6356
      @serpentines6356 14 годин тому

      This is only a more recent development. Afghan women used to be able to get educated, wear "normal" clothes, etc. Pre-Russian invasion. This "Taliban" is from a very idiotic strand of Islam...

  • @infinity-r8f
    @infinity-r8f 22 години тому

    The women in Afghanistan are not allowed to become doctors and didn't allowed to see female doctors is because they want women to just become a breeding machines to increase muzlim population and nothing else. There should be an official humanitarian organization to help these kind of people in an inhumane country and bring them out and relocate them in a humanitarian countries. But before bringing people out, the organization must ask these people if they are muzlims or moderate muzlims ((I call the moderate muzlims the 'hypocrite muzlims' )) because once they are relocated to a humanitarian country, they should not preach and practice the same ideology which was practiced in the country they left behind, or else, that humanitarian country will became the same as those inhumane countries in the future, like Afghanistan.

    There are many non-kosher restaurants in Jerusalem, most though are kosher because that's what sells. It is NOT A RULE that they have to be kosher, the owner decides. There are non-kosher restaurants open on shabbat in the heart of the city, one block over from Ben Yehuda, plenty of them. Also, please understand that the women who cover their heads and go to the mikveh (ritual bath) do this by choice. I have a son who is ver religious and when I speak to his wife, she makes it very clear to be that this is how she wants to be. She knows she has my full support and she has a sister who has decided to leave the religious life (who by the way is fully accepted for her choice) so my daughter in law knows she has choices but she wants this lifestyle and I think, as you said, personal choice should be respected.
