I work late sometimes out in the country a little ways in a paint shop with some garage doors. The area is deeply creepy by night. Either way I was sanding cabinet soors when I got the intense sense that someone was just on the other side of that big sliding door. The image flashed in my mind of tall, unnaturally pale with this long lank almost wet red hair plastered with dirst with a wild gleam in his eyes and a big crooked smile. I hadn't even opened the door yet and I could just see it in that space like any other person who could've stopped by. The thought of opening that door to reveal something every rational part of oneself says can't be and any lingering spiritualism has saying should not be simply being there. I took a minute to breathe and prepare myself before flimging the door open.

One defining aspect of vampires that wasn't mentioned and which some adaptations do away with or downplay is that they're undead. They're the living dead. I think we've become so overexposed to that concept as to be innocaluted against it but part of the horror is the sheer impossible wrongness of it even being.

currently on the part discussing sleep paralyis and this is fairly unrelated but it reminded me of the time where a friend of mine, who experiences sleep paralyis, mentioned to me that they have on multiple occasions had the figure they were faced with be a warped (unnaturally tall, skinny, etc) version of ME. And then I just had to...go on living with that knowledge

This was a while back but i remember a video discussing liminal spaces with other cultures in mind. The idea of liminal spaces is a very personal thing. What seems nostalgic and also creepy to one person might not seem the same for others. They mentioned finding a liminal space community amongst slavic people. Their idea of a liminal space was far different from that of an american liminal space but it is still interesting to see the perspective of other cultures.

Interesting thing that was pointed out to me is that the vast and the buried can represent an over abundance of wealth and debt. Like how freeing and daunting having a large responsibility and a bunch of freedom with a lot of money and the repercussions of using that irresponsibly relates to the vast. And how being buried under a mountain of debt or promises or pressure from others can relate to the buried

The UnitedHealthCare assasination despite almost 100 percent of people thinking it was good I can't help but feel disgusted that someone killed someone else. I know the Health Care system is terrible but theres always better ways then killing someone.
