Came across your channel bc I am wanting and NEEDING to start budgeting in 2025! I am going to binge watch all your videos.. May I ask what some of your side hustles were?? I am so tired of living paycheck to paycheck 😢 Also, What is that little notebook/savings challenge book that I see you marking off?

I did this with my daughter st age 16, she had 2,000 saved by age 18, car paid off and no debt plus money for fun spending, then she met her dead beat boyfriend who keeps her broke and behind budget for 2 years now. I know one day he will be gone because shes still young. I hope one day she goes back to this budget planning because we know it works

If I was making $10,000 a month I wouldn't need to budget! How on earth do people get into debt making that amount of money every month??

I "compartmentalise" my money by having a main account for all income. I then have standing orders to transfer funds to a second account that solely pays direct debits, like car insurance, phone contract, etc, that are not variable amounts. . I do the same with a third account to covet essential bills like rent, council taxes, water. I then have a fourth account which holds savings and contingency/emergency monies. . That way I know that all my outgoings are provided for - I can see each account separately, I can adjust transfers if necessary. Food and personal shopping and socialising come out of my main account. Unused money from there goes into the fourth savungs/reserves account. I do use envelopes - one in my bag to hold withdrawn cash for "silly" spending, such as coffee /lunch out with someone. Others when building up cash towards buying birthday and Christmas presents. .

Thanks for posting. I note that you don't budget for your cell phones and cable TV and internet. I wonder why only you do this, should this not be done joint with your husband who must share expenses and contribute to the income? You even allocate money for him.

Honestly, I've realized over the years that I'm terrible at having "free" money at all. All of my money needs a home or I'll spend it on something I want instead of what I need. I need to work towords a zero based budget. I fear its the only thing that'll help me save for a car.
