I really like the idea of moving the money from the 100 envelope challenge into a HYSA. I was uncomfortable with the idea of keeping all that money at home. Definitely a great solution.
Budgeting is so important. The more you do it,, the better you get at it. Especially important during these days. So thankful for a roof over our heads, shoes on our feet, and some pleasant things along the way that are freebies. Good health, friends, family, cool breezes, beautiful flowers, etc.
I completely agree with you about sinking funds! I fee like we have been on a debt journey forever! It’s just recently kicked in gear because of sinking funds and the motivation from you and some other really smart budgeting ladies here on UA-cam (thank you!!). It’s the only way I’m able to keep paying large debt payments. Car maintenance and my kids sinking funds are the most used in my house!
Love the cash budgeting community they are all so amazing. Love that we all can help each other on this journey. Car maintenance totally seems like a consistent theme. Lol 😁
My sinking funds are: Christmas, Car Registrations, Gifts, Kids, "Oops" and Pets - the one that always gets me is KIDS (which is daughter, son-in-law and grandkids) I am a sucker for their "WANTS" and, unfortunately, sometimes their "NEEDS".
Congratulations on all your hard work!! That was a lot to save away. We have had so many car issues the last few weeks even we had to use a credit card.
One thing I don't see enough people save for is a new (used) car for when maintenance is just not going to cut it any longer. Saving $100 a month it will take over 16 years to get $20000. Of course this doesn't include interest but finding a good used car is hard and a car payment is even harder. Everyone thinks their car is fine and they don't need to worry about it but time passes so fast. Best wishes
Very, very true. Cars are so expensive, and I definitely don't save enough , but I have to juggle the debt payoff and save balance, but when I am done, gotta hit the car running.
New sub great video. My fist couple months was a learning experience. Seeing what areas I needed extra in and what were bing spending issues. That I made challenges for. No spend, don't feed the Gremlins. I'd pay me for not eating after 9pm. And some cleaning and organizing challenges. 50 for dishes and laundry, $2+ for full room cleaning thrift store drip offs or dump runs. I'm single and needed a little extra Bribing to get some of the things I've been putting off for a while. I've saved over 100 in 3 months.
Car Maintenance is my #1 also. Seems like as soon as I paid off my car the trouble started. So that's a good one for me. Plus I want to save for a new car .
I’m doing most of my sinking fund in weathfront because it was easier the trying in cash, I transferred 50.00 each weak for my sinking fund and I just started with ally and that get 20 a week. Great video, late getting to it because daughter being out of Country for her graduation trip, has been harder on me then I thought. So I been out of wack😮
I'm so sorry it's been hard!! Have been thinking and praying for you. Transfer is a GREAT idea. I love that, been thinking about some auto transfers myself.
Too funny, it should be a get out of jail fund! My husband is going to get in trouble with the wife for a bidding site he found and if he comes home with more junk!
Once I counted out my savings it was about 360 usd once applied towards bills have about 50 usd towards groceries 😮although money has not come in everything is progress
Hi Joy I enjoyed the video Which bank you suggest is best bank high savings account I my 100 envelope challenge my money is a credit union bank Thank you have a blessed night ❤
I suggest wealthfront. It gives a 5 % APR. Use this link to open a Wealthfront Cash Account. Once you fund it, you'll get a 0.50% APY boost! www.wealthfront.com/c/affiliates/invited/AFFD-PZ9A-LE2Z-XM7J
If it's in my high yield, there will be Prop money in its place if there isn't any. I spent it, but a lot of these are new because I re did my saving challenge envelope, so starting new.

That was my issue, too 😃

Indeed, we have been given so many blessings. I often during prayer in the morning thank the lord for the comfort blessing.
Ooh… I like this idea of using the side hustle income for savings challenges. 👏🏻
Only way I can afford it and boy is motivating 😃

Hi new subbie here. Car Maintenance, Medical and Sports have been the most annoying for me 😢😢.
I hear yeah, things are chilling out for me, but for years, medical was brutal.
Congratulations on all your hard work!! That was a lot to save away. We have had so many car issues the last few weeks even we had to use a credit card.
I am so sorry 😞 I hate that, totally has happened to me....but once it's all fixed up, hopefully it will be smooth sailing.

Oh no...I am sorry that can be no fun.
Where’s the money from all the things you had already colored in?
