Renny's Haworthia Collection Tour, Part 2
Walk through a section of my greenhouse where I keep my the selected seedlings and some favorite specimen plants. I hybridize my own plants and produce lots of seeds every year. Does it need sunlight or just light to growth ? My North balcony only have light maybe indirect light and my haws look sad just like it will not growth 😢
@@tuanta9192 you can grow under fluorescent light or grow lights. It doesn’t have to be sunlight.

Duuude! Renny how often do you water your H.? And are all of them in 100% akadama? What’s your humidity like? Also, what do you do when winter hits? What’s the temp range in your area for summer and winter? I lived in central Az for a couple of years and the summer heat scorched them, even in shade it was extremely dry. Now living in East Texas and we get a lot of freeze here. Unfortunately lost many even in a greenhouse… I really want to try the 100% akadama but I’m not home as often to do frequent watering. Thanks for your videos btw they bring me so much joy when I’m away from my plants 👍
@@kevintruck0 it depends, but in general, every 10 days. My humidity is extremely low, but I use swamp cooler in summer to increase humidity. Yes, I can imagine how harsh the summer in AZ is. My summer can be 115F for my plants so it is pretty bad too. Luckily my winter is pretty mild. I use 100% akadama because it works best for me. I ship internationally and akadama makes shipping much easier (roots are clean and easy to inspect).
How to take care of plants in rainy season and humid conditions?

@@rennyshaworthia Growing in natural light is better or indoor under grow light give good results?
@@bilalmehmood3046 growing indoor under lights is much easier to control, at least in my climate. Natural light is great after the plants are fully acclimated to their placements, but even so, placing them in different spot within the greenhouse can sometimes cause sunburn because of the angle of sunlight.

Hello Renny, thank you for the video. I have a question, do you sterilise the soil and use fungicide?
@@Fernandoairbnb I don’t sterilize the soil. I watch the box closely the first 4-5 weeks. If there is a sign of fungus/mold, I spray with hydrogen peroxide (3%) and let it air out before closing the lid again.
