How I Sow My Haworthia Seeds

- My typical sowing process. Seeds were harvested between May- July 2022. I sowed them almost a year later, on April 22, 2023. Two weeks after sowing, on May 6, 2023, about 35% have germinated.
More seeds will continue to germinate in the next several months, so I keep the lid closed to improve humidity. Once most seeds have germinated, lid can be removed.
You can find seeds in my webstore: sales.maughanii.com
Thank you for sharing this! I shall try ordering some seeds from you ☺️💞
Thank you! 🥰
Wow I made it way to complicated when I tried growing from seed. Thank for sharing Mrs Renny.
Glad it helps 🥰
Hi Renny. I am about to sow the seeds I ordered from you, very excited.
After the first water, close lid tightly, how often do you water after that?
@@vanessahuynh No more watering afterwards. If the lid is closed, water is recycled and inside is like an ecosystem. You have to watch out for any mold sign. If you see it, open lid and spray with hydrogen peroxide (straight, don’t mix with water). Then leave lid open for several hours before closing again. Once seeds are mostly germinated, you can open lid if you prefer, but will have to start misting several times a day.
Thank you thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
What kind of grow lights do you use? The colors on your plants are incredible!
I don’t use grow light. All my plants are growing outdoor under filtered sun.
Hello Renny, thank you for the video.
I have a question, do you sterilise the soil and use fungicide?
@@Fernandoairbnb I don’t sterilize the soil. I watch the box closely the first 4-5 weeks. If there is a sign of fungus/mold, I spray with hydrogen peroxide (3%) and let it air out before closing the lid again.
Oh man I'm afraid I put the wrong "soil mix" in mine! There are tiny bark fines in it- also mine are coming out sideways ! Will they straighten on their own? I'm so tempted to scoot them up..
Don’t worry about them lopsided. They will fix themselves as they grow up. Having some barks is fine, I just remove the large pieces because they take surface space, preventing the tiny roots from young sprouts to reach the soil.
What is the kitty litter type stuff used at the start?
It is akadama.
Is akadama the same as screened pumice? In your instructions you say to use 40:60 mix ratio of seed starter mix and screened pumice. Here I don't see you mixing it, you set the akadama first and then the seed soil. I am confused
