Why Women Are Better Shooting Students Than Men
44 special was what he used in competion
You should try Charter Arms six shot 380 with four inch barrel.
There are more advantages to 5.7 than disadvantages, and it has been proven to be deadly in the real world.
There seems to be a purposeful effort to memory hole .22 Hornet in all discussions.
No handgun round is the magic cartridge. Everything is a compromise when it comes to using handguns. If you want stopping power, carry around a .308 or bigger gun. The 5.7 has a definitive place. For example, you may be able to shoot a .44 very well, but your 110# wife likely will not. Most couples (if they are smart) tend to unify their handguns and rifle selections, so they minimize their type of ammo they have to stack. (we are talking their grab-and-go selections for rifle and pistol). In reality, the selection(s) should be for the largest cartridge you both shoot well. For many, the 5.7 fits the bill perfectly. 20-plus rounds at 1600fps (minimum) into a 3" circle at great speed is likely going to be enough gun to get most jobs done. I do not carry one daily on my belt, but I have decided on one for my kit-bag. The pistol, with a suppressor, and 100-plus rounds in 5 mags is super light, so you are more likely to have it accessible when things go bad. It is accurate out past 60 yards with just a little effort, so it can do everything from predator control, to putting a rabbit or turkey in the pot. It has enough power to bag a dear and a 200 pound hog (instant drop with head shots behind the ear, but it takes 5-6 shots in the chest cavity for a quick drop. A single chest shot will kill it, but be ready to track it for 200 yards or more until it bleeds out.) - Same goes for a Mule Dear...placement counts. As these cranks said, good shot placement compensates for all types of small round selections. Lastly, this video was at least a year old. The 5.7x28 was clearly not a passing fad. There are many types of ammo in this caliber and the price has dropped to well under $1 per round. The ultimate use of it as a daily carry for defense remains to be seen. There simply is not a large enough sample size of real-world street shootings, to say if it is good or if it is bad. I would prefer my AR if I knew I was going into a shooting encounter (if I could not avoid it in any way) but if I did not have that, and I only had my 5.7 in my kit bag, I would not feel ashamed to have it and the 100 rounds on me for conflict resolution.
I have a tactical trail nuke just in case I need it. 😂
Ok boomer
I'd like the regular gun.Companies are just pushing you to pick this little video and you're all airheads
You ever heard a Davy Crockett? What? What does reason to Alamo black powder? Or guns were used to fight the Civil War black powder. What guns were carried in the old West to defend against Indian battles black powder? How many millions of people were killed in the Civil War? The revolutionary war and all the computer tweet years of the old West. And how many bears and stuff like that? Then it stopped from killing people. And how many bears did it put on the table? And how many deer has been killed? With black Browder, you can't tell me. A black Browder can not stand up upon anything else? Dad is a lie
You've ever heard of john wesley harding while the most famous outlaws in the world carried a forty four

I picked up a Henry Big Boy 44 for Christmas and I plan to get a Ruger Redhawk with 5.5" barrel when it's in stock. These will be my bear country loads. I plan on a chest rig. I don't plan to go with the super hotrod loads. Buffalo Bore makes a dangerous game outdoors reduced recoil load. I plan to carry those and I am getting dies and a press pretty soon to reload. Someone gave me a mixed lot of 400 pieces of 44 special and magnum brass which is going to come in handy too.
You should really test 5.7 vs 3a body armor if your going to say it can't penetrate. $300 to be sure your correct isn't a big commitment. I have sent SS197 and handloaded 40 grain vmax through a 3a panel that 9mm didnt even damage after. The ss197 isn't super reliable but the 40 grain vmax at .1 grains under maximum recommended load is like 90% consistent at penetrating 3a. SS198 will not penetrate 3a but it's the only projectile I have found that wont do it. BDF and T6b is a whole different story, it will probably go through multiple layers of armor. And the 9mm I recovered (from the outside of the panel) measured about .5 inches in diameter, the fully expanded 5.7 I recovered from the water jugs measured .44 inches in diameter. 5.7 is a fantastic choice if you don't want your carry gun to be defeated by $300 of body armor off ebay. Talk about the pelvic girdle and headshots all you want, the biggest take away from my force on force training is how hard even center mass hits are on a moving target.
I use light specials for less recoil and better accuracy
open carry everywhere every day in kentucky
My neighbor was a Baltimore cop from the 50s to the 80s we used to talk about stuff like this I was talking about hollow points to him he said the only thing he never wanted to be shot with was a wadcutter as a police officer he seen quite a few people shot with wadcutters they didn't survive yeah we're talking Baltimore 17 too 19 shootings a weekend
My woods gun is a S&W model 57 in 41 magnum I have had this revolver for 45 years. I believe with the right loads it will do all that the 44 magnum does with less recoil, it shoots flatter, and seems to penetrate better. I have a model 29 but the model 57 is my go to woods gun. I also shoot the 41 better
Don't like your show
The novel thing about the M1 carbine is that it does everything about 95% right and the rest you can live with
This is my 45th year of ccw. The only instances where I have open carried, is my side arm when hunting or hiking, and the time in my life when I was an Armored truck driver/security guard. Other than that, nobody knows I have one on me. Not even family and friends.
Well done guys. Really enjoyed this episode. I love my Redhawk in .44.
The 5.7mm has the advantage over the .22 WMR since it is a center fire cartridge, it means it is cleaner burning powder wise and also easy to reload and more reliable than rim fire. Ballistically the 5.7 mm is slightly more powerful also even though firing the same bullet weight. If your not going to be reloading the .22 WMR probably would be a better choice though since it is cheaper and probably found in more none firearm specific stores since the 5.7 mm is more of a boutique cartridge or it was when it was first being popularized I am not sure on the availability comparatively of either I suppose it also depends where you live to.
I bought my 44 years after I was out of the army it was my first pistol now it goes everywhere with me if I ride cross country it's there with me what's loaded in it depends on the area I'm in but I'm always ready to take care of them bears 🐻
Fun guys ! Thanks ! !
Not in my youth it wasn’t but now in my 60’s I have come to love my specials.
Good stuff, gents! 👍🏼
NO!
I've owned 22 mag rifles for decades. Can't beat it as a rural back yard varminter. As for 5.7, in a scoped carbine it would make a decent small varminter, albeit extremely expensive for the job. And why? Out of a pistol it is just a dispatcher/plinker. Tough to hit the small vitals area of a woodchuck at 90+ yards with a handgun.
After shooting a 500 the 44 seems pretty mild.
NO!!
I prefer the 44 special
your message is awesome, your delivery sucks!
Hmm .. Rotating Remote Control Pistol Helmet ? Remotely Controlled By Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra ... Sign Me Up ... 😜 🤪 😝
I think the .44 Russian cowboy rounds are a fun choice--the earliest rounds that date back to the black powder days that can be used in a Special or Magnum revolver. They are actually an American round made by S&W from 1870 by request for the Imperial Russian Army, and they kept evolving. When I look at 'em, I can't help but think they look like giant 22 Shorts. 😁
I live out in a rural area in Kentucky, where it was perfectly acceptable at the time to walk out in your back yard and crank off a few rounds at an old tin can or something. One day I happened to walk outside and heard this loud BOOM! Then a few seconds later, another BOOM. I looked over in the back yard of another home and saw two of my neighbors standing there and looking at something that one of them was holding. I walked over to see what was up, and found that one of the neighbors, a guy name Kenny, had gotten the notion that he was going to go deer hunting with a handgun, and had bought a .44 Magnum DAN WESSON revolver, the one that had the cylinder latch on the crane and I recall had interchangeable barrels that you tensioned with a barrel nut on the end of the barrel shroud. Anyway, I saw that he was shooting at an empty wine bottle sitting on a tree stump down in a dry creek bed (Not a very good target, but at least a good back stop) about 15 or 20 yards away. Kenny was complaining that there must have been something wrong with the revolver, as he couldn't hit anything with it. Kenny then asked me if I wanted to try it out. Now I hadn't shot a .44 Magnum revolver ever before in my life, and honestly was a little bit frightened of it, and didn't want to embarrass myself if I had six shots in the cylinder and didn't want to shoot all six after the first one hurt so bad or something. Kenny then handed me the revolver with the cylinder open, and had six of those big old magnum cartridges in the other hand. I took the revolver, but only took one cartridge. He asked why I only took one, and I said that I didn't want to shoot up all of his ammo. So I loaded one chamber, set it so it would line up with the barrel on the next trigger pull, took aim, rolled that trigger back, and BOOM. Blew the neck off of the wine bottle! The rest of the bottle was still sitting on the stump! I handed the revolver back to Kenny and said "Seems like it shoots OK to me! I left you more of the bottle so you still had something to practice on!" I walked back over to my house to continue what I was doing. A week or so later I happened to see the other neighbor that was there and witnessed my lucky shot, and asked him how Kenny did after I left. He said Kenny was so embarrassed that he told him later that he took the DW back to the gun shop for a refund at a big loss.
Stand in front of one and tell us how it goes. 🤷♂️
Sick. This is a really really bad look for law enforcement. Bunch of old white male cops laughing at police violence and brutality. ha ha, not.
I bought a DanWession 10" Heavy vented barrel In the early 80 s. It was very easy recoil. Probably the vented barrel (Like a Muzzle Brake).
The local FFL said a .445 Supermag owner is thinking about consigning it, they better call me if he does!
no
A friend of mine, a fellow Kentucky boy but with extra points for having grown up on a farm, was a two term Vietnam Vet. Second tour he was a sergeant leading a platoon. He was part of the group that, when they returned from the field one day, they were told to clear their M14 and place it on a table, then go to another table and pick up one of those funny-looking black rifles. Anyway, being a competent leader and a guy who grew up around rifles, one of the first things he did was look in to how to strip the rifle and to clean and lubricate it. Of course, no cleaning tools or supplies had been issued because "this rifle didn't need cleaning!" "Bull Pucky" he said. So he had his guys scrounge up a bunch of .30 Cal cleaning patches and some boot strings. He showed his guys how to thread the patches on to the boot strings and use 'em as pull-thru's, and how to find "Ghetto-CLP" on the end of a deuce and a half dipstick if they couldn't find anything better. In the field, everybody cleaned and lubed their rifles, taking turns so that only 1/3 of the platoon had their rifles disassembled at a time while the other 2/3 of the group stood watch. He said that his guys NEVER had problems with their Armalite rifles.
Also, I just found this channel and it's super entertaining. I really like how you guys don't talk over each other!
I totally agree! Open carry is like playing poker and showing your hand before you bet!
I carry the plus p remmington 125gr htp and 125gr winchester personal protection and 158gr fmjfn in my old charter arms undercover! Wrks great! Those lswchp 158gr are great too!😊
yes. too much! too much recoil. too much noise. too much cost.
Thank you Elmer Keith…..
The .44 magnum cartridge was originally developed as a hunting round, not as a anti-personnel round. Of course, fans of the "Dirty Harry" trilogy would argue the point. I seem to recall that years ago, Amarillo, Texas swat officers were allowed to carry a .44 magnum, if they could qualify with the weapon on the range. These officers had to put in a lot of range time ( well above the average patrol officer) to qualify and to maintain proficiency with this caliber. There's an old saying that goes something like this: "A hit with a 9mm is better than 6 misses with a .44 magnum". I've bought and sold several .44 magnums over the years and still retain two of them but I'd never consider using one for a CCW.
Stupid 100% Agree. In urban settings this will just bring the cops or attention from the psychos.
