Back in the old days when you had to BUILD a nice 1911 I would hand back the old parts to the customer and say, "you know, if you bought another frame and slide you could assemble another 1911 SUSPICIOUSLY SIMILAR to the one you started with." Still holds true for 10/22 receivers.
I regards to storing your ammo, something you might try. Several years ago I came into possession of a section of "school " lockers. You know, the ones that are about a foot square and have 15 lockers per section. I have labeled each individual locker with what caliber ammo is in each locker. Padlocks secure each individual locker. When getting ready to go shooting I simply unlock the locker(s) containing the ammo I need and off I go. No muss, no fuss!
It’s probably just me, but every time I hear or see the Ruger Wrangler - and now the Super Wrangler, about which the ‘cranks didn’t mention the adjustable sights, steel frame, .22 mag capability and slightly longer cylinders - those unfluted cylinders are a deal-breaker for me.
My wife just asked me what I want for my upcoming birthday. I always like to ask for the odd ones so it’s really different and I’m never unhappy. This year I said how bout a Kriss Vector 9mm in Alpine White! Looking fed to that fun. 🤠Gene

Steel shelves are ok but all of my ammo is stored in a Fire Safe. I don't want it burning off if I should have the misfortune of having a fire.
