@@MegaRickw it was not my finest moment to say the least. But I am not afraid to say I messed up.
Dude, I just ran into the accelerator harness issue. Your video just saved me hours. Thank you!
@@HonestInvestor you are very welcome 👍🏻
What do u do about headlights aren't they ony 12 volts, add a step down transformer? I'm considering going to lithium but not sure about that, also what about key when u turn it on is that ony for motor?
Yes, you would need a voltage reducer. You can wire it to where the headlights work with the key on or off or you can wire it with the key. It’s your choice.
I have 205/50r10 tires on 10 in rims on my 2 seater. Also have heavy duty suspension. I have lowered my tire pressure but cart still rides too rough. I was thinking I need to do the opposite and go to single leaf springs. Will this make a difference? I also wondered about switching to a 205/55r18 which adds .81 in to the tire height. Would a single leaf spring support that tire without needing a lift kit? Wife and together weigh about 300 lbs. We only drive cart on the golf course and street.
I meant to say 205/55r10 not r18
Yes, the big leaf packs definitely make for a rough ride. You could try going up a size on the tire, but you may have rubbing issues depending on how much weight is in the back
Just do without the windshield
@@cottontop8098 it turned out ok
@@kartkrazy 👍🏻
What about lights horn and turn signal down they need a step down
Yes… You would need a voltage reducer
What is the price of this new batteries? Great video many thanks..
Not sure on pricing But make sure you check out bigbattery.com and use my promo code Stege10 to save some money
I have just got a similar club car Precedent like yours.. exact same setup…. Are you sure that disconnecting the black and grey wires, is all you need to do to bypass OBC??? … i see many other videos where they say that you need to splice blue and white small wires together and run the black to battery negative… i like your way a lot more… but i just want to be sure so I don’t screw up my controller or battery. Thanks
Yes I am sure. Been doing it this way for years. Never cut or spliced anything 👍🏻
@@kartkrazyyou were right…. Of course… worked perfectly….is there anything i can do about my regen braking( i think that is what I have)….when going down hill i can fell it trying to stop.. i think that is regen….does regen affect the lithium battery??? All stock by the way
@commoncentsideas1215 the regen can be turned off at the Dealer… They are the only ones that can do it. Also, it has no effect on the lithium.
How do you test a plumb quick motor to see if it’s good??
Multimeter with an assistant
Saw the brand thanks

Is them 24 volt battery if so what brand is them
@@randystrickland1727 48 v Allied is the brand
Working on a Yamaha G29 PTV with stock lights from the factory. Curious what the wire was that you didn’t connect to the negative terminal. It’s zip tied to the wire? Thanks!
@@arkansasarbitrage5474 I ended up hooking that one up after the video…that was for my lights… this cart already has a 48 V to 12 V reducer
@@kartkrazy so that wire was for the lights? I was thinking that because currently to my lead acids main negative to my pack I have the wire from the controller, charger negative, and after market reducer for my speakers. My cart I believe has the reducer built in since I have factory lights. Thanks!!
@@arkansasarbitrage5474 sure thing! What part of Arkansas are you from?

Well I completed the install and I now have a $1500.00 flashlight because the headlight is just fantastic but the cart don't move so I am staring at a well lit garage door and going nowhere. Boy isn't this fun. Ego txt flashlight. Woo hoo!
@@tommyseys2225 did the cart run before? Is it a 36v or 48v? Is the reed switch hooked up? Is the tow/run switch plugged in? What year is the cart?
Maybe I missed it, but seems like you don't show anything about how to replace the existing charger receptacle, or the red wire that controls the reed switch.
@@misternicejob reed is bypassed. Did not replace the charging receptacle you just plug in the charger from the new Vatrer set up.
So how do you turn up the speed?
Has to be done at the dealership. Ask for a speed code 4. Should run you about $100
How do I add converter for headlights?
@@judyolmstead3652 new video on that hopefully soon… in the meantime, you can watch this video around the 10 minute mark I talk about the voltage reducer a little bit ua-cam.com/video/uu5iZQwU2Ec/v-deo.htmlsi=eQEP2p0q_P2wBKwV
I would replace the standard ezgo plug with a standard wall outlet plug.
@@markberning9142 it’s on the to do list 😎
Website says 10 year warranty but you said 5. Which is it?
It is 5 year free replacement. Years 6-10 are prorated
I had to rewire an 1998 ezgo , Does it matter what year it is if you strip everything out and put new stuff in? because now i have to wire this cart up from scratch and the wire harness do not have labels or the right wires can anyone help me?
@@David-j3h6e they definitely change from year to year, but you should be able to follow the wire back to the controller and determine what you are powering on and off
Great video. Is a new voltage regulator required?
Yes
If you do have headlights, would you need to instal a voltage regulator?
Yes!!
So that was my problem thank you very much. I bought a new toe run switch, and it will not run unless I have it jumped. Any advice would be helpful. Or do I just leave it jumped and unplugged it anytime I need maintenance
In this video a new controller solved my problem However…the tow/run switch is also bad so I had to jump it.
So will it hurt anything if I leave the tow run switch jumped
@jjmorris1978 it will not until it comes time to push it for any reason..then it will ruin the controller
Last question and I’ll leave you alone. I have it jumped, but when I flip the tow run switch from tow to run and have it in reverse the reverse beep will stop when i flip to tow!
@jjmorris1978 that sounds right because when you have it jumped it thinks it is in run all the time
WOW THANK YOU WE HAVE THE SAME CART SAME PROBLEM. SO AWFUL. BUT WE ARE WATCHIG THIS VIDEO AND HAVE HOPE AS YOU GO THROUGH THIS WE ARE SEEING EXACT SAME PROBLEMS HAVENT GOT IT YET BUT THIS IS HELPING
YOU ARE WELCOME!!
Not to sound picky or anything but you should have put a battery on each side to even out your weight
OKI saw that you put on both in the middle that even's out your weight. But I would still put a battery on each side and mount all your electronics on the back wall that will give you more storage between the batteries.
They are super light😎👍🏻
I have an extra golf cart but it is a 2 cycle. Does anyone care for those anymore?
@@scooterss2112 I am sure someone does. But it may be hard to find a buyer.
What about the green wire on top of 10 pin connector?
If memory serves correctly, it should be the return from the micro switch in the floorboard

Great video! As for battery placement ur in the right spot. So what u need to make a new negative cable. And Yes cut the old stuff out to get the battery on the floor. Center of gravity is king! I’m doing Thai conversion now and I see you disconnected the blue cable on the battery. Is that the 12v for the lights and do I need a step down to connect that?
The small blue wire next to the main red positive is the factory connection for the step down converter… It still has 48 V
Hey Jeff, awesome video on the limo golf cart rebuild! It’s impressive how you’re bringing this cart back to life. 💪

Biggest drawback to a limo cart is the massive amount of space they take up.

Get a regular one and extend it, make it gas while you're at it...
@@Room1sixtyfive 🤔
Hey Jeff, would you be up for reviewing an Enjoybot battery? I think your audience would really enjoy the video.
We have been talking for months
Don’t you need a converter to downgrade the 48v down to 12 v for the lights and things that run on 12v?
Yes… This cart already had one
The ECO battery should be on one side of the cart or the other, and not centered. The reason for that is so you can install a 12V lithium with its own charger. Then connect both chargers to the 110V Male charging port. Your ECO battery meter and your Navitas OTF should be installed in the battery box. By mounting them on the dash you are publicizing that you have high end equipment that will make that cart more desirable to steal. Even if you buy the uncommon key switch with keys, all I have to do is buy the same key switch as you and the key I get will be the same key as what you have. Therefore I use a wireless key fob that gets installed in front of the constant power lead that would connect to the key switch. Each key fob has to be synced to the wireless relay. Even if you buy the same wireless key fob, you will not be able to power up my cart. Also when I power down the cart with the key fob, a relay will enable an electro magnet that will hold the seat down, so that someone cannot try to hot wire, or vandalize my battery box.
I appreciate the comment… I live in a gated community so there isn’t much concern for theft. I liked where I mounted everything and worked well for my situation. Thanks for watching!! This cart is now sold anyway 👍🏻😎
Not recommended. Too expensive.
🤔 compared to what?
Any news with that ruff & tuff cart ??
I decided to sell it…almost no parts available and basically would have had to rebuild everything with different parts which would have been super costly. Decided to focus my efforts on other projects. Sorry to disappoint 😢
In you video, the black neg cable was too short, do you know what the new length was? Im trying to order the cable in advance as I plan on putting the battery in the same position as you had in the video. Is 2 Gauge the proper type?
2ga is correct… I want to say it was an 18 inch cable
If you wanted to add more features like soundbar or touch screen how would that work?
@@tylerabbott7108 easy… just hook it up to the voltage reducer
Your work is very impressive and I enjoy watching it. Out of curiosity, how much total does it cost for the parts for these projects and how long? And then how much do these remanufactured ones typically cost to a buyer? Thanks!
WHAT DOES IT COST TO REBUILD A GOLF CART FROM THE FRAME UP?(MELTDOWN BUILD COST) ua-cam.com/video/JIRw6zP3vRA/v-deo.html

To reduce the volume on the reverse buzzer, just stick a foam earplug into the opening (horn speaker) and the volume will drop by many many decibels.
