The BEST TACO DIP...Olives or No Olives?
Sounds like you didn’t have to sift out some of the thicker bran from your flour? I’m new to milling and I want to keep as much of the nutrition as I can in the flour, but my doughs have been coming out a little more gritty than I’d like. And I’m worried that sifting is the only way to get that nice soft texture. But I might also need to upgrade to a komo/mock mill to get the finer flour.
@@Jennb1373 I almost never sift. Like you, I want as much nutritional value as I can get. It could be your setting. I almost always grind on fine. And letting the dough sit for a bit also let's it hydrate. I'll also add, I have grown to absolutely LOVE the flavor of FMF over plain white flour, and that has grown more and more over time. This pie crust is soooo good. I use it in both sweet and savory applications and just love it. ❤️
Hello Cindy, my name is James Farrar, I am following your yogurt making video and wanting now to get started but I cannot find a Euro Cuisine Yogurt maker with a half gallon capacity. Would you be able to direct me to the model number and any modifications you have made. I cannot seem to find a glass bowl with a half gallon capacity that will fit in my maker model YXM650.
Hi James! Thanks for watching. I have the same model that you have and I use a glass bowl that I bought that came with a nestled mixing bowl set. I bought it years ago, so I don't remember where I got them from, but I can tell you that the base is 4-1/2: diameter and the top is 9" diameter and it stands 4" tall. It holds the 1/2 gallon milk perfectly with the 1/2 cup or so off yogurt culture. I might have gotten them from Macy's, William Sonoma or Kohls. That seems to be where i get a lot of my cookware from. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@cindyoconnellHealth Thank you for your response Cindy. I have a bowl about that size but I don't think the lid will reach down to the base of the yogurt maker. I will give it a try today.
@@jamesfarrar8359 It's probably not critical that it closes completely. The heat will till get to the milk and you'll have enough protection from anything falling into the bowl or spilling. Let me know how it turns out!
Looks Very delicious, thank you for sharing my friend ❤❤
@@Firuzehsimplerecipe thank you so much! ♥️❤️
Hey, friend. This is right up my alley. Thanks for converting these recipes to FMF! I’m actually have a spelt muffin for breakfast.
My pleasure! These freeze nicely too and thaw out fast for a nice breakfast muffin.
I love how easy you make it look, mine sure don't turn out like yours#@! I use hard winter white berries and soft white berries. My sheets don't look as smooth yours, and falls apart on the edges. Wish you were here!
I would use 100% hard white or durum or kamut. It's the moisture level. Once you get that on point, you'll be good! Keep trying. My first attempts were awful. I tried to follow my mothers recipe which she used 100% instinct. 😝 using the recipe I show here is what saved me. I try to get to 7 ounces liquid, but sometimes need to add a touch more with the FMF.
Another great recipe! Thank you!
Thank you so much! This recipe never disappoints. I love it!
Thank you for the video I’m new at fresh milled and am not having luck at making it stay together. I may try the durum and hard wheat combo.
@@josdantas9739 it's definitely a journey. Don't give up! Start with this recipe. Trust your gut when it comes to adapting to FMF. If it looks too dry, don't be afraid to add a little more water. FMF tends to be a little "thirstier".
Just in time! Pumpkin and sweet potato pie season!
Yes! This was one of the first videos I ever made,. Better camera and microphone now. I am ironically, going to make a tomato gallette tomorrow and apple pie is coming up!
@@cindyoconnellHealth oh. My. Goodness!I cannot wait!!!!! I have some apple pie filling I canned a few years back I need to use! Can’t wait to watch it! I love your channel.
@@Nunya-biz-ness aww. Thank you. 💗 You're so kind.
Looks Amazing!! Great job!
Thanks Mary Jo!
I am going to try this! I have been on a Spelt kick lately and maybe I’ll change the flour out. Or, I can try it both ways! 😊
I think spelt would work just fine. And if you like them a little on the gooey side (like I do) keep them a little under baked like the video, or go further for a more firm brownie. They really are spectacular!
Had Spanish hamburgers at school and the lunch counter at the hardware store. Loved them and it’s also delicious as a coney sauce
That is so cool! I have been wondering if my MIL made that name up!
@@cindyoconnellHealth there’s a food show I watched about sloppy joes that mentions Spanish hamburger in the list of alternative names and I found an article about a guy’s search for the name which he found still being used on a menu
Very interesting and good to know! I did find a couple of UA-cam videos on it too, but only a couple and very low views.
Where are you getting your durum berries? I can only find that in bulk
I order a lot of my. berries from Janie's Mill. I am in Wisconsin and they are in Illinois. They do sell them in smaller quantities. www.janiesmill.com/search?q=durum
Hi when you say 130 gm …. Is that flour or berries?
@@terimei5540 weigh your berries, then grind. They should weigh the same when you're done. 😃

Right?!
Love Sicily. I was stationed there back in the 80s. Pizza looks delicious. Sound is a little weird though. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy watching and learning.
Very cool! We're heading back to Taormina in a few weeks. I had the best pizza there and plan to go back. This pizza was FANTASTIC! A total flavor bomb!

Was curious, if you like the recipe so much why has it been 15-20 years since you’ve made it ?
That's a good question! I think I just sort of forgot about them for a long time. Sooo good though. I'm glad I pulled this recipe out again!
Thank you for going the FMF route. I’ve been milling for about 2 years and this process has been good for my gut...so I’m all for using the whole grain. Those buns are gorgeous; this recipe looks like a keeper. What model or size is your KA mixer? I’m thinking about one, but it has to have some muscle. My current one is a wimp. Thanks again...love your channel.
My gut health has greatly improved! My KA is at least 35 years old. It was my mother's and she gave it to me. I guess she bought it in the 70's. It's a 4.5 quart Ultra Power. I don't use it to mill. I have a Komo mill for that. I bought a newer one a few years back and it was weak and wimpy, so I sent this one into KA to be rebuilt. Definitely worth it. I think the newer ones are not as strong as the older ones. I would look into some better brands or models or buy an old one off of ebay or marketplace and get it rebuilt if you need to.
@@cindyoconnellHealthI may do that...or save for an Ankasrum.
Good idea! I've heard a lot of good reviews on the Ankasrum!
You're making me fat girl!! 😂
I can not wait to try these!! I think I'd let the dough rest before I added the yeast and salt. Thank you for sharing!!!!
Thank you! 100% agree. I almost always do ahead of leavening, but followed the instructions i got from the recipe, and I was contemplating if I should or not, but my instincts were to do the autolyse. I'm sure they will come out even softer if that were done. Good call!
Someone mentioned adding apple cider vinegar with the mother for yeast breads to reduce the phytic acid
Interesting! I'll have to look into that! Thank you!
The buns look so good. We have been using freshly milled flour for a little over a year now. We enjoy experimenting with new recipes. Can’t wait to make this recipe. 12:10

Thank you! it really is.... 🥰
Where do you get raw milk sour cream to put in? What if you don’t have? I used regular organic sour cream with 5 cultures and it didn’t work. I don’t know what o did wrong?
Fermenting can be a frustrating experience! You may not have given it enough time. If you have a proofing pad, that might help. They don't heat very high and it won't affect the quality of your milk. I got my raw milk sour cream from here: dutchmeadowsfarm.com/store/product/a2a2-sour-cream
I’m surprised you didn’t use bread made from FMF! It looks delicious, though. Now, I’m hungry!
I'm definitely a bread snob! I really like this particular bread with this sandwich! Stay tuned.... I made a brioche Bun video with FMF yesterday. Sooooo good!
