Google calender is designed exactly the same. I personally use google calender,it's very helpful.
People don't buy an influencers book and his stupid merchandise, just read it's that simple.... Or if you have to read a professors book. Ryan holiday is a mimic of stoicism who wants only your money.

Google calendar for me 😅😅
Thanks
I am a manager of a large team of people and you can’t really block time like this because it causes a heap of personal frustration. I guess I have an open door policy for people coming to see me when they need help.
You need to find what works best for you, your work environment and your personality. I do time blocking when I work from home. On days, I am in the office, my calendar is usually full of meetings and if it is not, I intentionally choose items I can be disctracted from as I like to chat to my colleagues.
@@MarianaKaiser I actually block my Fridays now, the whole day and it allows me to catch up.
Is this better than daily Stoic journal
They serve different purpose - can't really compare them.
انتي عسل
Im retired but still this method intrigues me as I find I get nothing really accomplished with the unstructured hours that lye before me most days. And the sad truth is that with recent health problems, on better days I find im always trying to catch up with life & all the responsibilities that are still necessary to have a home, pay bills on time, etc.etc.etc. surely i can try to adapt the time blocking method to my circumstances...
Hello, I am self employed and a family carer. I time block across a week. So Wednesdays are for correspondence and Fridays are for finances. I run classes on Tuesday and Saturday. I attend meetings on Thursdays or create class content. I cannot always stick to this because I have to work with other people. But it mostly works. My issue is too much to do. So on correspondence day, I will work through all important correspondence in priority order, until I have to go and do some other paid work or carer task. When I get back, I return to correspondence. I hope this helps.
I like to do time blocking outside of work as well (not every day though) - it helps me feel more accomplished and in control of my time. It's not for everyone but I prefer it :).
Google calendar is super helpful. I just started using it again. PRO TIP though.. this can cause burn out for some.. me included.. so I have to leave space and just put on important events that I CAN and WILL forget about. Like putting up all when I work. Hangouts with friends. Important tasks, etc. Just things I neeeeed to get done. So if you have ADHD or just can't plan like this, then plz plz don't and just do what works BEST for you.. bc that's the best planning!
I agree 100% - know thyself :).
... and see how you burn out
How do I block my time at work when there is a new emergency every 15 minutes?
Same question! How can I work during officer hours when I am on call to visitors to my office and to leaders when needed? I usually work at night after office hours.
yeppp first time i knew abt timeblock i never had any answer to this...because i work in healthcare...i work as therapist but i need to respond to cases any chance im free lol.. i ditched it and back to square one...only do my work after this "emergency timeblock" is finish which is usually the whole hours of my work lol
I like the book so far and it makes sense. BUT... when you have this sequence or chain of habits and you already miss your first habit because you sleep too long or you have an appointment at the hospital that day and the next day you're sick and then the third day you forget about the habit, then the fourth day you have to get back into it... which is really hard because you didn't miss one habit. You missed all the other habits as well.
That's true - I like to put the new habit with one that is very established and unlikely to be missed (e.g. brushing teeth, commuting, etc.). I like to also support this with other means - for example, I may track the habit in an app and try to keep my streak as long as possible (pro tip - streak is broken only if you break it two days in a row, otherwise it is alive - this is life changing!). So if I miss my initial habit, I still am reminded and motivated to do the habit. Similarly, I will adjust the environment, so the environment reminds me of the habit (e.g. vitamins on the kitchen table so I see them, etc.). If you really care about creating this habit, support it in multiple ways.
i love your videos and book recommendations you love and enoy! and also... how you take notes on your phone while listening to the audiobook
Thank you!
What book should I read and review next?
Any psychology book?
Not correct method, you must leave some air in between, up to 30 min, or you will ruin it immediately and completly
I think it depends on how well you know yourself. Having said that, there is definitely more nuance to it than one can explain in 43 seconds. I have several videos on my channel that speak about this in detail.

I chosed upnote for my commonplacing I really like Onenote, but their infinite canvas bothers me alot for commonplacing, i use it instead for writing projects and mind maps.
Thanks for the tip!

It is a German surname but I am not German 😉
The last tip was a really unique!
Thank you :)!

Thank you! Cheers!
Its all in your identity
💯
You added virtually nothing to the other videos that do a much better job of focusing on Feynman’s technique.
Google calendar would be a better option to block the time in terms of working or studying.
Why?
I think it is personal preference. I have times when I do it on paper, other periods of times, I use Google or Outlook calendar.
The hardest part is setting effective but not too ambitious goals. I want to do anything and everything but oftentimes fail. When it doesn't happen I feel bad about yourself.

The only thing that helped me really change my habits was sticking to meditation and mindfulness. Just letting go and observing. The workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels goes great with Atomic Habits.

I have the daily stoic book and just bought the journal. I enjoyed the book and have given it to a few friends. Thank you for your video. You cleared up a question that I have regarding the syncopation of the two tools. I wondered if the day's journal prompt is tied to the day's reading. It appears that they are not. I'm making that assumption from your video. Thx.
Thanks Mariana, I love the way you explained it and how you brought other points into play
