First Look at Biltmore Estate after hurricane Helene.
Biltmore Estate is open to public and in this video I'm covering what it's like to visit it this holiday season. I visited ONLY the areas that didn't get any/much damage and are open to public. Some parts of Biltmore Estate had more damage- low laying land, pastures, farm, area along the lagoon- and they are closed off at the moment.

Who cares about Biltmore Estate! Shame on you for trying to ellicit sympathy for them! They're filthy rich cause they stole land from the locals, including my great grandfather...👎👎
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is one of the most negative reviews of Biltmore I’ve ever experienced. Especially for people who have been there so many times. Think happy thoughts and report on them.
You’re on the wrong channel. This is not a travel channel and my goal is to say it how it is to people who are thinking about relocating/living in the Asheville area. Not here to sugarcoat anything.

That's nice but what about all the people & families that haven't a home now because of the 🌀 ? They could use some help now & for a long time. The roads are bad. Don't look away from the people who need help . They need winter supplies. Peace to all. 🕊️🇺🇲

Everything there is trouble. We were there at start on pandemic, only we didn’t know yet, I’m glad we saw it. We were there to see the Downton Abbey exhibit
What is trouble?
@ I was referring to your own comment about going into the different shops and things intended to separate me from my money, like I assume you were. Things are very expensive. We had one lunch and our bill for 2 of us was $113.00. For lunch. We aren’t big people and we don’t eat a lot .

It’s been proven fema had told workers to pass over homes that had Trump signs if it made them uncomfortable. Crimes against humanity!! Many there will be in tents this winter yet fema sent 350 trailers to Michigan this month?!
Zac, does the graph take into account the homes lost?
You mean lost bc of hurricane?
Thank you for that tour. I was wondering how they came through the hurricanes. I have ridden past there on our way to Tennessee. Always wondered how it looked in person.
It’s beautiful!
Gosh I wonder how many ppl just bought a home right before the floods😭😭.
I know…that’s a good question…
They've done an excellent job getting everything ready for visiting again.
@@biddiemutter3481 yes they did! We were pleasantly surprised
Thank you for giving me a more realistic idea of the damaged areas. I've been looking for a video like this for over a month. I'm also pissed about the lies and fake information. I saw a video a couple of days ago featuring a young woman helping the community by coordinating services at a local church; she offers an additional service of spreading even more nonsense about land grabs, that FEMA and the government hadn't been there or done anything. No one can understand why FEMA requires supplies to be palletized. The government is stealing their children to sell on the black market for $40k each. CPS is taking children away from their parents because they can't take care of them decently. I'm sorry but If I was dealing with 4 feet of mud in my house, no running water, no power, and no food, I would be thankful someone was minding my kids and getting them out of such a hell hole. I'll get them back in a month or two. How do you unbury a neighborhood if you have to watch your kids constantly? They don't see the sense in that, instead, it's a knee-jerk reaction, "OMG they're takin my babies". They've turned on the US government and believe the whole thing should be undone and we should start over. OMG... they don't understand what they are saying, just repeating some a-hole they know down the road who quit school in the 9th grade - before he learned to read. I am from Asheville, and I live in St. Louis. My brother died three years ago and I was afraid of the strong MAGA vibe I was getting from him and almost all the people I knew in the Asheville area. That was one reason I didn't go home to see him before he died. As long as these communities see themselves as victims of the government they won't recover emotionally from this tragedy, no matter what FEMA does for them in the future.
Glad you took the updated look around, but felt like you had way too many bad opinions about drives, stores, restaurants, prices. Took the excitement out of it. I watched teary eyed knowing all the experience I've had there with my now lost love will never look like I remember them. Sad.
I can understand your disappointment in this coverage, but this channel and my mission here is to say it like it is, highlight pros and cons, be honest and transparent. I am not an advertising agency and I am not here to lure anyone in by portraying everything in rosy colors. That is just not me.
So glad the house was not flooded and severely damaged. I was there many years ago and still remember it well.
@@joannlessner1551 same same🙌🏻
This was the most informed & amazing content of Biltmore Estate (we visited many years ago) that i've seen & surprisingly the most exclusive footage since Helene. Your love for Biltmore Estate's beauty, decor, shops & grounds was genuine. TY for the update & sharing your visit with us.. we appreciated your honesty on many different levels.

Thank you!
My Mom was born on the estate. I was born at Biltmore Hospital before Mission. I am a native
Wow!!!!
I'm a truck driver. I have driven through this area. I will say the amount of damage is shocking. Wish I could do more to help. It looks like an apocalypse hit this place.
Yes, places like Swannanoa, downtown Marshall look the worst still. And then there are a lot of smaller roads and areas all over Yancey County, Madison County that had a lot of damage.
The Biltmore should donate at least 75% of all its proceeds towards the cleanup from Helene and help residents get back on there feet.
🤷🏻♀️
They donated 2 million to the clean up and recovery. Also, they lost a lot of revenue for the month of October. Have had to hire multiple tree crews to take down trees. They housed and fed all the clean up crews for a month. They were still paying salaries to workers for that month too. They employ thousands. It will be months before all the trails will be safe. They have 8,000 acres to take care of.
@@kateferrell3511 yes and 🙌🏻 yes
It's great to see that the estate survived one of the worst storms of modern times ! I remember before the winery came along , Biltmore operated one of the largest dairies in the southeast ! They milked hundreds of Jersey cows twice a day 365 days a year ! The best milk in the land ! I also remember , at the front gate ,they had an ice cream parlor that served the best BANANA SPLIT in the world ! Biltmore Village was constructed to house the workers that constructed the house and estate and the railroad was built to bring in the materials and stone needed for construction ! It's hard to believe that a few people had that kind of enormous wealth back then ! UNBELIEVABLE !!

Biltmore after all of these year's, with higher & higher entrance fee's every year NOT closed & donating all of the money they have pocketed to western North Carolina for recovery!?!?! Why haven't they offered to store away the priceless decor & open there door's to the homeless & shelter people!?! My opinion but out of respect in the minimum THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!!!!!
