Finally, an honest and candid review of Asheville. I tell people much of he same things you mention, especially the part about the crappy job market and wages for blue collar workers, the fact that is has become too expensive for many locals to stay here, and the part about Mission Health. I worked for Mission for seven years, and when HCA took over the quality plummeted tremendously. Great video.

I have lots of memories of Asheville. My parents lived there for about 15 years. They left in 2004. It is nice to view some areas I didn't ever visit while visiting my parents 😊

We were supposed to be in Asheville for our 14th year on Oct. 1 - 12.We were so sorry for all of you and our friends who live there. Watching this video was very wonderful for me. Seeing the downtown and all the places I am familiar with made me feel like I was there. Also watched your after flood video. We spend a lot of time walking in the River Arts District with the dogs, getting food and a beer. Hard to imagine all of the damage like that. Traverse City, Michigan loves you Asheville.

Hospital privatization and predatory acquisition by large health companies is killing the system all around. Looking forward to exploring the city for the first time this October tho!

    #11 Traffic
The congestion from too many people on roads not ment to handle heavy activity and all trying to be in the same area at the same time. Construction to repair/improve roads. And tourists not knowing where they are going .

I think it's one of those things people don't necessarily notice when visiting, but after moving here, they realize it's part of their daily life.
Years ago, we could avoid heavy traffic by taking different routes, but with all the growth, all those roads are backed up as well.
Not to mention, they are narrow and have many sharp curves .
I'm not trying to rant, but traffic definitely is an issue.

@@stanleyhape8427 yep. Some roads been doomed from day one LOL. Mills Gap- been bad for at least over a decade. And there’s really no alternative or way to make it better…

Ashville was congested, crowded, over priced and to busy to try to slow down and enjoy the town. Very expensive in town. The outter town is beautiful and you can find all kinds of things to do but it is expensive because tourists. All about money

I would definitely move there for the mountains if I could afford the $400k home price and personal income tax? even with a 3 or 4 hour drive to the beach. I don't see that as a bad trade off. All American cities rise like a phoenix from the ashes 🇺🇸🙏
