Cracking the Master Lock Safespace 5406D Portable Lock Box
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
Just want the good stuff? Skip to 9:20 for the open... In this episode I'll crack the Master Lock Safespace 5406D Portable Lock Box, and take you through some of the potential vulnerabilities I look for on a key box like this. UPDATE: Commenter Fyra Banks said they found an easier way, which I've verified! If you put the decoder into the right side of the dial parallel to the shackle there is a...
Sesame Lock Bypasses & The Improved Master 175
Переглядів 15 тис.3 роки тому
The standard sesame style lock bypass with a mini-knife is well known, but each vendor's lock may have a slightly different position or angle that works. Master in particular has been improving their design to make it more difficult to bypass. In this video I'll show you how to bypass the CCL, Brinks, and Master 175 sesame style locks that I received from Deviant Ollam, with tips from Max Power...

In Episode 3 of our series on making and repinning practice locks, I'll show how to take a door lock apart, using a shim if you don't have a key for it. Once you can get your locks apart you can make progressive training locks from them. TSA Locks (Master TSA002)
Переглядів 51 тис.4 роки тому
TSA locks are notoriously insecure and in my opinion aren't worth the investment. While this video shows a Master TSA002 lock, pretty much all of the TSA locks on the market have the same or similar issues. In my mind, you might get more tamper protection / detection value out of a colorful zip tie than one of these.
"Ji & Lian Digital Lock" Ten Digit Padlock Decoded
Переглядів 53 тис.4 роки тому
This "Ji & Lian Digital Lock" was recommended to me by the AI bots at Amazon as I was building an other order. Since it was only $9 and it had one little feature I hadn't seen before I decided I might as well buy it to investigate. As I figured, it was easily decoded, but was still a fun little exercise. Watch to learn how to decode this style of pushbutton lock and this one in particular. Edit...
Master 5422/23D Key Box Decoding
Переглядів 193 тис.5 років тому
An Oak City Locksport member figured out a way to decode the 5422/23D Key Box. This new decode method was released at CackalackyCon and Layer8. Note that if *too* much pressure is used that the buttons *can* break. Boxes like these are typically on doors for real estate agents, or mounted on buldings for facilities/maintenance teams, FCAP or telco rooms, etc. The problem is that if you can easi...

I believe that this method was working for the lock I had given to me as part of a tool lot but it still wouldn’t open. My model was the wall mount version so I finally just drilled into the back in the top and bottom and could see that the buttons I had guessed were activated were the right ones. I was able to turn them around get it open to discover I have 4 buttons that will not function. What crappy locks. Oh well. I was fine drilling the holes in this one since it’s getting mounted with screws but good luck to anyone having a functional one for long that hangs on knobs

Nice video instruction. My wall safe 'spat the dummy', and springs and things went everywhere. Found all the bits from the cylinder etc but was a bit baffled. It had a cam fitting with screws which had come loose. It is now all back together and working just fine. Magic. Thank you so much for sharing. Cheers from New Zealand.

Ty!!! Did the trick. Helped me to reaffirm the correct code. It wouldn't open because one of the button mechanisms we turned on was malfunctioning out of the box. After struggling a bit, we got it open and turned the malfunctioning one to off. New code works great. A bit unnerving how easy it was to decode with this method. 😮 Will have to reassess our locking protocol.

Dumb question, but why is it 6/32 instead of 3/16?

    • @OakCityLocksport
      @OakCityLocksport 10 місяців тому

Not a dumb question! #6 is the diameter (0.138") and 32 indicates the number of SAE standard profile screw threads per inch. It's typically represented with a "#" in front of the diameter, and a dash before the threads vs like a fraction.

It worked well. Only took me two tries to get it done. I did not use any tool other than my two hands. I used two index fingers to press the top and bottom buttons down, then used my thumb to feel the feedback / tighten numbers. I located the four tighten buttons quickly. It worked great. Thank you so much! ❤

Thanks for this! I just decoded mine and it would only work on the right-hand side also. Too sticky and jamming on the left side of the combo wheels. Important note I would add is once you find the 'bumps' for the right numbers, try move the whole 3-digit set either side of that until it unlocks because it can be a little unclear which number the 'bumps' correspond to

0:46 You are doing it incorrectly. Start by clearing it, then pressing the 1st three buttons on the top row, then put your pressure on the lever, then press each of the 3 bottoms in the top row again and if any have free range of motion that is one of the codes. Do that for each row.

I just bought this lock (5422D). Thought I had my combination in, and locked it up. Well, guess what! Apparently I didn't do something right and I can't get it open. So, this will be a 50 dollar lost if I can't get it open. This is for the EMT's to get to me at case of an emergency. So, hopefully this will work. Still trying though, because I do not want to spend more money.

Hello! I have a few Masterlock TSA 002 locks whose combo.s I do not know. They were not locked and the shackles did not depress. I tested numbers by feel and was able to guess and push 2 of them, in the 90 degree position, deeper. I noted the numbers, moved the shackle above the lock position, changed the numbers and they do not depress and engage. When I have it in the 90 degree position and fully depressed they do not turn to 180 (should they?). And now 1 of them no longer responds to that discovered combo. Help? Thankyou!

Sounds like maybe one of those key pins wasn't totally correct. If you can't pick the lock, you can always shim it from the rear. I'm not totally familiar with this UA-camr, but I found the video with a quick search and it seemed pretty comprehensive. Note that you can buy these shims from sites such as clksupplies.com or go through any old DVD / Bluerays you bought at a store. The security stickers they put inside, when cut open, have a couple thin metal shims in them! I also use a rake or hook pick to lift the pins when shimming from the rear whereas this person uses a key blank. ua-cam.com/video/i8KKQLLPR14/v-deo.html
