Only TWICE in the 4 years I’ve played TS4 has my sim unexpectedly died and the only reason they died is bc I had a mod installed that tuned emotional deaths to be a little higher. It is so difficult to get surprise consequences in TS4. You gotta have so many mods installed to make it interesting and even then it’s still missing the soul that TS2 had.

Games are an escape from the real world. Younger people play sims because they want to escape into adulthood. Adults already live this life, they aren't escaping anything by playing sims. Probably why no one is interested now.

Honestly, when you listed off a bunch of things at 5:34, I went "Actually the Sims 3 has all that... And I still enjoy Sims 3 when I have time for it!" So maybe we should try to play Sims 3 more to get the best of both worlds XD

Honestly, I'd still pick Sims 4 over Sims 3. While Sims 4 definitely gets repetitive and is also quite buggy (appartments oh god), the artstyle and performance are so much better than Sims 3. I started Sims 3 yesterday and it didn't age well. I don't care about open world and I think the world in S4 is relatively open. Like you can still go outside and travel to places. I play Sims mainly for what's going on on my property and if I travel to a community lot, that's enough for me. Even though they could definitely be more crowded. I also miss the wish system from Sims 3, the whims or what you call them are damn repetitive. Both games have their flaws, but right now it feels like I can accept the Sims 4's flaws a bit more.

Sims 1 is still the best game in the series... being able to destroy the Goth family was always a treat.

I was thinking half way trough the video "Maybe thats why i enjoy Rimworld so much" and then you tell about Rimworld XD But its true. The more DLCs i got for Sims the less i played and I'm at the point where i dont care anymore at all about it. I even deinstalled it recently and I played for a long time creating a world with so many characters, even wrote notes for myself to keep up with they storylines and i enjoyed this so much. But after i got the college DLC it lost me, and after more then a year not playing at all i deinstalled not even caring if my wolrd i builded in over 300h might be gone for ever too.

Sims 3 is still the greatest. Open world, everything is happening disregarding you. Hard to come by super wealthy and all the needs and relation management.

LOL WOT P5 is a slogfest to get through too though. And the characters in P5 are the worst I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with in any RPG I've ever played and that is over 200. It's like everyone is just so stuck in the echo chamber of praising P5 they just do it without even knowing if they actually agree. And they are blind to the flaws due to all the flashiness of the game. But stylish menus don't change how garbage and cringe the writing is. Also, the graphics are actually really bad, too. For one, the character models look weird as hell, their eyes are spaced too far apart.

Gotta have to agree with you sims one bustin out sims motel ( sims 2 and castaway) on psp was incredibly fun and challenging.

I like games about 2-5 hours long. 8 hours is when i start not being too interested

as someone with a little over 10k hours in this game, i cannot agree more with the claim that the sims 4 is incredibly boring. i'm just lucky (?) enough to hyperfixate on it and continuously drag my sims along whatever storyline i have going at the time. my only other experience with the series is sims 3 and even then, nowhere CLOSE to how long i've played the fourth installment, but if i hadn't grown up with 4 and developed such an attachment to it, i genuinely would have abandoned it in favor of 3 because at least that can keep me entertained consistently 😭

I mean there's a reason so many people play the older editions. I just feel bad for Sims people, can't imagine having to pay so much money for each addition that adds a few outfits and maybe a handful of mechanics that work the same as other mechanics. You guys deserve better lol.

I'm fan of sims since the TS1. TS2 was peak, but TS3 is open world and fun to explore. I was so excited for TS4 and this was just a big disapointment. They emphasize that sims have many emotions, but there is no interactions "I'm not in the mood to do it" And there's a lot of weird idle animations, like my sim is crazy or have ADHD: "Oh, my husband cheated in front of me I'm angry, then after a second I'm smiling and wave at him" or "I'm making a salad, Let's stop and laugh out nowhere, oops I cut my finger, Oh there's a fly let's look around, Oh right I'm making a salad" This is so annoying. I continue to play The Sims 3

There's also the fact that at the time of The Sims 1 we had to play and learn by ourselves, apart from the rosebud XD . Nowadays we watch tutorials, and in 10 minutes we discover almost everything you can do to win the game. Plus, you can rent the house to others, among other things. But you can choose to play as if this option didn't exist, since you thought it ruined the gameplay. But I also only played TS 1. So what do I know? XD

The music is what made the original sims nostalgic. Building a house using the rosebud cheat, with the piano going nuts in the background gave you that cozy rainy day feeling.

After over 80 dlc's and kits and broken stuff, it does get boring, and because of the cheats there are no challenges.

The sims a are boring and you can die and get hungry quickly like you starve to death you can last three or two days without food.

They did build in burnout and layoffs. They were horribly unbalanced so I turned the layoffs off and downloaded a mod to get rid of burnouts.

The first sims was the best. I bought sims 4 a few years ago and it just sits on the desktop don't really ever play it because it's so different.
