@@TimHayes like I always say pick up a base on the cheap (preferably with out stickers… cheaper that way) buy repro stickers and a repro backdrop ( that should run you around $20-22)

Thanks for the shoutout Doug! A weird thing just happened….while watching I suddenly remembered my Star Wars bed sheet set!!!! Got them as a gift from my grandmother back in ‘77. I do own the movies (episodes 1 through 9) and have always loved Star Wars but talking to you and seeing your channel have highlighted what a big part of my life Star Wars has been, like it is a part of my programming. Your channel also inspired me to watch the 9 movies again over the past few weeks! In order of release of course. Great job on the video and a nice touch including the original commercial snippet. @@LeonardLee8979 it’s expensive yes BUT you can pick up the base cheaply enough. If you wanna cut down on costs buy a repro backdrop for around $15 or so and voila you have a Kenner Cantina on a budget

@@gecko-sb1kp wow $1000. I had no idea it would cost that much “Down Under”. That’s dedication and the collecting community appreciates and thanks you for your support of this HasLab. I agree with you about not needing to overpopulate it. The detail of it could get watered down in the process so good call on that! Owning a good portion of the figures does give fans like you and I the upper hand in all of this. I just feel bad for fans starting from scratch trying to build out their bar. Hopefully Hasbro aids in that by creating a few more aliens to round out the project. Thanks for the comment and for supporting the channel. @@DougAlan-atswc Yeah, the conversion rate is not good and there's import and GST tax and postage. We also went through a reputable well established third party. The good thing is they foot the bill for now. We just paid a deposit. Balance due when they have it. My brother has done it that way with several Haslab offers here. I've just loved the cantina and all things Tattoine since 1978. And yep, we never got Star Wars here until 1978. I was 10 and been consumed by it ever since...

@@gecko-sb1kp cool! So you’re my age. People like you and I are keeping the OT part of the hobby alive with our love of the “movie” (ANH) that started it all! At least that 3rd party is reputable. You at least know that when this thing is ready to ship you’re going to get it! Hasbro has to work harder to ensure that their brand is available worldwide.

@@DougAlan-atswc The company is EB Games Australia. I'm mainly into vintage 1977-85 figures but about 20 years ago I must have taking a liking to TVC figures for a while. All from ANH and Bespin. I'm stuck in that era and lovin' it...

@@jasonthornton-saunby5814 it’s actually a Jamoke. It is a term my dad used to use when I was younger. It’s a slang word I think he made up. I haven’t used it in years. It kinda means a joke, a clown. It popped out completely out of nowhere. I thought that most of the video would end up on the cutting room floor but when I rewatched it after the fact, it made me laugh and to pay homage to my dad I left it in. Thanks for asking. It made me think of its origin and made me smile!😊

The funny thing is he is in my current cantina diorama having a convo with 2 troopers (whom I also failed to mention as denizens) Very good catch on that my friend. Y’ see the denizens just keep coming. Might have to do an ep 4 down the line if this continues 😂

@@carloscunningham319 as I posted this video Hasbro announced that Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead) is forthcoming so you can add him to your Cantina display! And absolutely you can put bounty hunters and any 3&3/4” figures into the cantina! Why not?Thanks for your support of the channel.

I have Zuckuss, Ree Yees, a Reaction figure and even a Phantom Menace figure in my current cantina diorama. Like I said “is there someone from the action figure police coming to my house to arrest me?” Love the variety in your cantina my friend!!😊👍

I did that with the Nevarro Cantina. I added in Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood as owners/head bartenders. Then I added a Super 7 Creature From The Black Lagoon and a Super 7 Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth as bar patrons.

@@TimHayes that’s the beauty of a “creature” cantina. Any alien or creature will fit in. Nobody (except droids lol) is off limits😂

And just maybe Hasbro won’t consider it a failure but I always feel that when they put out a HasLab they want ALL tiers unlocked because that means more units sold which you would think bolsters their bottom line. It certainly won’t be a failure for me if it just backs but I was just looking at it from a business point of view. It certainly will be cool to get the last 3 figures since we’re spending the $400-500 anyways but I can live without em.😊👍

@@DougAlan-atswc I understand you want all the tiers met, but I feel like Hasbro didn't give people enough time to back it! First they didn't give much of a clue as to what the Haslab would be. Then it gets leaked it will be a Cantina and this was after they said they needed more time to work on it. I think they didn't originally plan on doing a cantina, people just read too much into that clue:"Cheers." That could've meant just about anything, but I they went with it since there were already fans requesting a cantina as a haslab kickstarter as well as getting the Tonnika Sisters action figures made for the first time.

@@TimHayes you’re right that they didn’t give the fans enough time. Other HasLabs were 45-46 days and this one is only 31 days? That puts it behind the 8 Ball by 2 weeks right out of the gate. This will get backed so we will get this cool playset regardless. The last day or 2 of this campaign will be interesting

@@fireguyCO I totally agree with you about it being cheaper than buying 3D printed pieces. That was initially going to be my “go to” fix with my scratch built Cantina. Once this HasLab was announced I scrapped that idea. We just need a couple of thousand more backers and we’re home free my friend

It’s such a vast hobby so I feel it’s necessary to showcase all scales and I also love to contrast Kenner vs Hasbro. Old vs new is always fun!

I’m a little OCD. Everything I own is 3.75. What I have out doesn’t even put a dent in what I have. My amazing wife has given me the available space in the house to display, neglecting her own collectibles.

Thank you, it was tough! I just wanna make sure if any kids tune in that they don’t have to listen to my potty mouth. I really like the simplicity of this Death Star but was frustrated putting it together. It wouldn’t work (well it could if you so chose) with modern Hasbro figures but I love how it looks with the Kenner figures! Thanks again!!😊

I believe there are several vendors across the globe that are taking backers for the international market. They update on a somewhat regular basis from what I’m hearing, so I don’t think it’ll be a huge uptick at the end of the campaign except for actual backers.

@@DougAlan-atswc We now have Hasbro pulse in Europe etc so we can back direct without a external vendor , with the first Haslabs this was not the case, the number you see is the actual worldwide number i think.

@@drentrop9525 yes they learned from the SailBarge. Thank God Europe has Pulse. It wasn’t fair to exclude anybody from these Haslabs.

I’ll only add a ceiling to the entryway to allow for the hanging light fixture beyond that you’re right on the limited playability
