@@carloscunningham319 are you absolutely sure? I just checked on mine and can’t get it to work? Do you have the 2008 Legacy Version? Is it possible you have a later release and they improved upon that feature?
@DougAlan-atswc you might be right I have the newer one but I thought all the button actions where the same except the different voice recording of the different Star wars characters and a few updates too the millennium falcons body like paint and communicate Dishes other than that I thought they both where all most the same
@@ezarhon1002 this BMF(as it was called) was the original but if I’m not mistaken the Smugglers Run one is a rerelease of just that ship. Not sure about all the movie phrases but I definitely know the ship itself is a straight rerelease.
@@necgist thank you Gary! I’ve been working on this video for almost a week now. I SO wanted to cut down the run time on it but I would’ve done this awesome ship a disservice if I had shortened it. I shot it, reshot it and desperately tried to trim it back. In the end I said I’m happy with it just the way it is and posted it. I hope it translated in my delivery of the content.
What a beautiful upload! I absolutely Love classic trilogy toys! I have the Legacy Falcon from 2008 still in the sealed box. Ita going to be time to open it....i just space to display it!
great video. If you're anything like me and worry about the missiles from the main guns shooting out, you can actually remove the gun and switch it for the underside one. Then you get the solid sculpted guns, but without the worry of them accidentally shooting off, and also since the underside doesn't have the posts that trigger them
@@salfordnurse ooh I like that! I keep learning new things about this ship even after all these years of owning it. First pressing the radar dish knob to get the sound f/x, now this! Thank you my friend. 😊👍
This vehicle has features from both Episodes IV and V. What keeps it from being absolutely perfect is that there isn't a hallway connecting the cockpit into the main hold, and that the landing pads don't go into the ship like the vintage one. They are connected on the bottom, fall off too quickly, and are easily lost.
@@richardlee2120 I wholeheartedly agree with you on both points. The landing pads fall off far too easily and the lack of an attaching hall from the hold to the cockpit would’ve made this ship perfect.
I have this wonderful ship, and I waited until midnight to get mine in 2008. The reused mold from 1979 that gave us the 1995 and 2004 versions was made by the late Mark Bordeaux, who also designed this big Millennium Falcon. The 1995 and 2004 remakes didn't have the Luke training ball. The 2008 Falcon restored this feature from the 1979 version. I have the 2004 version as well, which is still a masterful work of art.
@@richardlee2120 yes the wonderfully talented Mark Boudreaux designed all the Falcons from 1979 on. I had the privilege of meeting Mark at Celebration Chicago in 2019. Him and his wife couldn’t have been nicer to me. It was sad to lose him last year. Huge loss for the collecting community. Nice remembering about the 2 reissues not having the training ball. @@aviansavage6338 thank you my friend. I worked on it for quite some time. I shot it and reshot it until I thought it was ready to post. It was important to me to make sure it was a comprehensive review of the Falcon. This ship deserves the extra attention
Thanks for another entertaining video. This thing would be too big for my available space, so I guess I'll never own one, but it's great to have your tour. That said, I've just had a guy 3D-print me a falcon interior diorama with navigation computer and holo-chess table. Can't wait to get it on display.
@@SkippyVinyls ooh I’d like to see that. It certainly sounds pretty cool…and yeah this ship takes up a bit of space so it’s not for everyone. I tried to be thorough with the review so everybody would know the full extent as to what this baby brought to the table. 😊
This video is pretty awesome, but you did forget to mention the removable panel where luke practices his saber. Also, it was the dropdown where han solo was asking for the hydro spanners.
