Happy Birthday Doug! Loved this video. Hearing all those store names was a trip down memory lane. Coincidentally, my first time skateboarding was in '77. Lo and behold, I found this video of yours after a couple of hours skateboarding at the East Providence skate park, and we are both still doing the things we were doing when we were 9 years old!!!! The thought of it immediately got the Toys R Us theme song running through my head......"I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys 'R' kid....."...there, now it's running through YOUR head! 😂 I will defer from discussing any 5-finger-discount stories from my teenage years....(cough AC/DC tape cough 1 year barred from Sears in the Swansea Mall cough)
That’s fantastic my friend. It’s awesome that you’re still skateboarding all these years later. Our dedication to our childhood hobbies still remain to this day. I may have a room full of Star Wars toys BUT you have a skateboard half pike in your backyard. THATS dedication. Thanks for the kind words Gary! MTFBWY
Love this story mate....great that you paid for the Tusken Raider, even better that its a hollow cheeks variant...I still remember when I was about 10 years old I was looking at SW figures and could not believe my eyes when I found Snaggletooth and Greedo, However I only had enough money for one figure...Still feel guilty as I stole Snaggletooth, got away with it..still have that same figure today🙂
Too funny😂🤣 only time i did the five finger discount i was 18.bought a one piece hunting suit and hid a six dollar item in the inside pocket, shook and sweated so bad when checking out im surprised i didnt have a stroke.i must of looked so guilty.im your age now,and never crossed my mind again to pull something like that again.
Great story! Yeah you do dumb things when you’re young and naive. Glad we’ve all got that out of our systems! Thanks for the comment and also for watching.
Happy birthday brother yeah I know exactly what you mean I did the same thing and I remember riding my bike from Rutherford N.J. to Wallington to steal star wars figures I had one of those sweatshirts with the big pocket on the front I remember taking 17 figures from the Genavices however it's spelled drug store their was a lot of us that did that then not proud of it I'm 52 now it's amazing how much of us pretty much have stories to tell
😂😂 LoL...now that was hilarious!!
@@jglass1218 it was pretty funny. Back then, not so much, but now heck yeah! 😂
We forgive you… that plastic crack gets the best of us. Great share, thanks man.
Thanks for the kind words man! And yes that plastic crack is and was so addictive! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. MTFBWY
1:04 😅 That's awesome. Very confidently "NO".
lol “I say No!”
Love your video! ;)
"Do I deserve this medal...NO!!!"
Hilarious!!!
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching! MTFBWY
I have that Vader piggy bank too! Not vintage, but cool as hell.
I have a Vader lawn sprinkler 🤪 It’s crazy what they made with the Star Wars brand!

That’s awesome! Not that you stole it but just that we all had the same thoughts running through our minds back then!!😊
Yeah, back in the day (I'm 53) it wasn't so much about collecting I was putting all those figures to use!
I still was putting them to use but it was more like pull the figures out, set em all up in various scenes, then put ‘em away. lol
Chewy did get a medal 🏅 read issue #6 of the original Star Wars comic.
And he did finally get a medal in TROS, which kinda brought a tear to my eye
They already gave him the medal in the original 1977 Star Wars comic go read it. So are you saying chewy got 2 medals???????
@@hediho-ry6rs yes Maz gave Chewie a medal at the end of Rise of Skywalker
We all make mistakes, Doug, especially as kids. I say wear that medal 🏅
Thanks man! Don’t mind if I do 😂

You were a bad, bad boy! Looks like you learned your lesson since then!
Yes I certainly have! No more 5 finger discount for me lol
Happy birthday man
Thank you so much😊

I guess we all got creative “collecting” Kenner Star Wars figures. We all lived to tell about it though. 17 huh? That’s a busy day lmao
Yeah but you live and you learn and I'm very lucky my 3 children didn't grow up like me but that's what we want and being in their lives
I pulled the Hammerhead out...HAHA
That does sound pretty funny when you put it like that. 😂
I’m just curious as to how you would stuff the figure down your pants without messing up the packaging, lol.
Just took the figure lol. I was an opener lol
I see. Good story!!!
I'm sure the Force forgave you & think it brave a cute that you told this story. Happy Birthday!
Thank you so much for the kind words. A bit tough to come clean on this but it was a LONG time ago. MTFBWY
I'll never forget that day!@
Me neither. I was pretty embarrassed
Wedge didn't get a medal either.
And he certainly deserved one!
