I'll be 40 in 3 months. My oldest daughters are both in college, and my son is 10. I've been with my wonderful husband for almost 18 years. My husband and I still have no clue what we're doing. My mom is very childlike but she's a lot of fun. I've had to grow up doing some of the parenting but it's okay because I'm neurodivergent so I respect that in some ways I'm childlike too and still greatly depend on her and my husband. Because I am childlike I will understand my child better than the adults at boarding school understood me. I understand my 10-year-old cousin better than anyone in my family so that can't be a bad thing. Her mom is a good person but very serious, a business woman, with no interest in girly things. She doesn't have a big sister so I'm the best she's got. Hope I am making sense. English is not my first language.

About to turn 55 and my wife and I both feel like we're still just "playing house." Wondering when the part of adulthood comes where you feel like you have all the answers, like our parents and grandparents did. Still trying to decide what we're going to do when we grow up. Just like a TV commercial that aired for the Peace Corps one hundred million years ago when we were kids, parenting is "the toughest job you'll ever love." SOURCE: many other parents. We never had kids. We think it was the right decision, but at times very much wish we had. Instead of setting up a college fund for them when they were born, we would have needed to set up a therapy fund for them, with us as parents. We were told we would have made good parents. I think that's only because we didn't have children around us 24/7. Let one or two of those live in our house for a few years and see if we still look like "good parents." Anyway: yeah. Get married so the kid will have a stable home, and then have kids. You'll kill it. Not literally. That was supposed to be a compliment. You and Caleb will be good parents. I should stop typing now.
