I haven't seen the movie(s), but I read somewhere that John K. made/"made" everyone learning sign lanagague so they could communicate with the deaf actress, plus it was good to actually know sign for the film - made it more realistic.
I agree. Sometimes if a computer is a bit overloaded (doing multiple things at the same time) there can be glitches in recording streaming video. The program's compression system gets borked and struggles for CPU power (if you're encoding with your CPU and not GPU). Quick way to fix this is to get a decent video card and use that instead. NVIDIA's 40 series have built in AV1 encoders specifically for this purpose.
Fun fact that I didn't know for a long time. The Michael Myers mask is actually a plastic William Shatner (or Captain Kirk) mask that was painted white. Fun horror trivia :)
I actually really like this, I’m a major horror fan and as much as I love slashers, there are soooooo many tier lists for the big guys, so it’s cool to see the creatures get a shoutout for once lol
Yep. The Thing is super scary not because it's a monster but that its driven by survival by any means. Plus the fact that it copies every bio-cell in the body it basically takes over the person and becomes them.
Love that the Moder got a shout out in this! I feel like The Ritual is criminally underrated. It's one of the few "creature hunting you in the dark" films where the ultimate reveal wasn't a let down.
Die hard Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein fan! I get why you’d do the classic film but it is nothing like the novel! Frankenstein’s creature is intelligent and self aware. He feels abandoned by his creator and stalks him across the earth. It’s amazing
Honestly in a sense people saying that Frankenstein is the monster are right. Dr Frankenstein abandons his own baby cause it didn't turn out right, and parents doing that are nothing less than monsters.
Skarsgard was so good in IT, he partly got the part because he could actually make his mouth do that thing IT does with his bottom lip, I loved his version of IT 😁
Agreed! He based the lip thing on bears. I watched an interview with him where he shared that his family (all SUPER talented, btw!) often watch nature documentaries. Mine too, and nature docs are often still fallback when I can't decide what to watch. He NAILS that calculating, predatory stillness.
Stephen King started writing "It" in 1981, and it took him 4 years to write. It was published in 1986. Freddy's 1st movie was in 1984. Stephen King was already working on the book before Freddy was released.
My favorite season too! My basement is horror themed year round! I also have 6 foot zombie animatronic in my living room that stays up year round named Norman. We dress him up with all the different holidays. Christmas he gets a Santa hat and beard and he holds hollies as Christmas guts ha ha. Next to him is a 6ft cardboard cutout of Freddy and Jason too, they gets Santa hats too lol I am weird lol
My parents met the actor for Freddy Krueger! They were absolutely ecstatic! He was in set costume as well at a event extremely upsetting when childhood me found out I shouldn’t have skipped the event 😅 31:13
I love how much you are into the horror movie genre! I like how similar we are in that way. I never can have a deep convo over all horror movie creatures and entities. Not a lot of my friends have seen old original horror movies. So they don’t understand how iconic they are. So I feel very validated here ❤ thanks love
Signs is such a classic - my mom used to call me Bo cause I kept water all over my room 😅 but that was filmed here, and I've been to the pizza place from that movie like, 50 times at least - it was 5 mins from my college.
NO WAY JEEPERSCREEPERS was the last one on god that scared me when I was younger the scene where his wings go into the bus is burnt into my memory I can see it so clearly LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
OMG YOU DID TREMORS!!!! Sorry that makes me super happy. I was literally watching this last night with my flame point Siamese cat who is obsessed with Kevin Bacon
I absolutely LOVED this video! I love creature features. My favorites out of all of them is the Predator and the Martor. Everything about the Predator is awesome and the Martor is just so unique and intriguing to me.
this video made me want to rewatch The Babadook, an Australian psychological thriller I saw for the first time a couple years ago. It is one of the most haunting films I've watched, and I wanted to see if the Babadook would count as a "creature." I was also fascinated during the rewatch because throughout this video Kris considers which movies/books were the original adaptations of certain themes of horror films, making me realize where The Babadook pulls a lot of its chilling tools from. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it. It's like Freddy Kruger meets The Poltergeist and had a baby that looks like The Thing. To be fair, I haven't seen The Thing, but after this video I really want to watch it. Happy Spooky season everyone 😊
The original "Fright Night" with Chris Sarandon as the vampire...BY FAR!!!!! His announcement at the top of the stairs, "Welcome-a to fright (roll the "r" here.) night..." The hesitation before he continues in a hushed tone, "For real." You KNOW DAMN WELL that ALL HOLY HELL is about to break.
Fun fact about the death angels! The aren't exactly "mindless killers". Sounds really hurts their ears and the only way for it to stop hurting them is to kill or destroy the noise. So they do technically have a motive. Just thought I'd share 🙃 they also hunt by echolocation! Which is cool
PLZ DO THIS WITH OTHER HORROR VILLAINS I LOVED THIS i luv that you actually watch the movie and do reach on thing for your videos u are an absolute queen
One of my first movies ever was IT. Back when the miniseries version was on tv I was 3 and my dad was taping it for my mom who was working and he fell asleep and woke up to me fascinated watching it. Been a horror fan ever since. 😂
this was well done, succinct, and nostalgic above all else, despite the "theme" of the video being mostly ab pitting the monsters against each other and such, so tysm for making this and helping my Halloween be jus a little better finally
The Ailen or Predator should have one. Numbers of the species should have come into effect. You dont kill one Ailen or Predator because after you kill one, you could be swarmed! Just my opinion, cause honestly, i love Freedy and Jason a lot!
this was so long and the camera glitches were amusing - for real tho, I loved how this was like a crash course on popular horror movie creatures and I'd love for more on this series
41:20 my favorite horror movie & villain is "Nightmare On Elm Street" Freddy Krueger. I love when he jokes with the people ("Welcome to wonderland, Alice!"). I was just going to say that Wes Craven made up Freddy from 3 people: a school bully, a creepy guy he used to see out his window when he was younger, AND a story he heard about a kid who didn't sleep, finally fell asleep and died in his sleep. It was in a documentary about "Nightmare On Elm Street" here on UA-cam. "Nightmare On Elm Street" came out in 1984.

"Who you gonna call"
"SAm AnD cOlBy"
Ohhhh I thought it was my phone
Love your vids Kris!!
SpOOooOkkYyYyy 👻
I thought it was deliberate in the intro, I was wondering how you made it look so convincing!
Honestly the glitches are such a vibe for this horror type video 😂🙌
ONG😂 I thought the same thing. Also Jays editing around it was funny af
I thought that was my internet or something... thanks!
Her camera was tweakin out lmao😭😭😭
Real
so I'm not the only one
Camera said we can take spooky to the next level 👻🤣
I love you!!! You’re so great!!!!! And pretty, and awesome!!!
It fr started tweaking 🙏
You're definitely right the camera did add to the spook factor
onmg i thought it was my pc
The camera glitching literally made me think it was my phone, but I low-key like the camera glitching because it kind of adds a spooky effect
Yes!!! That’s exactly what I was thinking !! It def added to the spooky feel
Same lol
fr I also thought it was my phone
Omg I was thinking the same thing! 😂
If Freddy Krueger entered my dreams when I’m feeling a little freaky he’d be the one leaving with nightmares.
What
Uh...
Same……..
Sameee
girl u good?
2:44 fun fact: the actress who plays the daughter is actually deaf irl. And the cast + crew had to learn sign language for the film
I love that. Makes it all more real that they weren’t just following a script with the sign language.
@@trippykysa3470 well I mean.. they were. But I get what you mean and I 100% agree
Lol I haven’t even gotten that far but as soon as I read this I knew u we’re talking about a quiet place

Say what you will about the monsters themselves, that movie was so cool!
Can we just appreciate that on halloween she made AN HOUR LONG video 👏🏽👏🏽
All the glitches worked perfect with video. Monsters don't like you telling their secrets
I agree. Sometimes if a computer is a bit overloaded (doing multiple things at the same time) there can be glitches in recording streaming video. I’ve heard that’s why it was so hard for them to recreate the original.
I actually really like this, I’m a major horror fan and as much as I love slashers, there are soooooo many tier lists for the big guys, so it’s cool to see the creatures get a shoutout for once lol

It's one of the best remakes too
Ahh I needed a Kris video today. I’m at a HIGH stress level with class registration being Monday. ❤❤
You got this girl! Kris will be here with us😂
I didn't know they taught classes to work at Arby's. Lol. No, I'm joshin. Best of luck to you kiddo. May you get straight A's.
As did I, I'm falling so behind in classes. But you know what, you got this, you'll get through it. 💪
same lol (im sick...on halloween)
Don’t remind me minds Wednesday
The Descent is the only movie that freaks me out no matter how many times I watch it. Definitely recommend yall watch it if you havent already.
The descent was freaky but honestly I thought as above so below was even freakier, like that creeped me out so much lol
Lights out and The Grudge are the forever-freak-me-out movies for me! The Decent was a good one tho!
Love that the Moder got a shout out in this! I feel like The Ritual is criminally underrated. It's one of the few "creature hunting you in the dark" films where the ultimate reveal wasn't a let down.
I watched that movie when I was like 9, and it was such a good movie
As a kid of the 80s and 90s, Tremors was my jam. I love all of them and re-watch them yearly!
i love that we get several videos a week with the second channel ❤
