Tyler and Kari

Hi, I'm Tyler and my wife Kari and I are traveling physical therapists. We started this channel as a way to share our adventures with family and friends as we traveled the county working as traveling physical therapists. Traveling as a career was never the plan, but it found us! Having lived in 8 different states, we wanted to document and share the beauty that is the United States.
The Wave | We hiked in JANUARY! (Coyote Buttes North)
The Wave is a highly sought after hike in Coyote Buttes North, Paria Canyon/Vermillion Cliffs. It can take years to get a permit to visit this beautiful place and we were fortunate enough to win the lottery.
Not only did we get to hike this beautiful trail, but we did it mid winter with a light dusting of snow!

We have visited Horseshoe Bend from the overlook and of course it's beautiful, but we saw people floating in the river below and thought "Hey, that looks cool!" If you're looking for something unique and less touristy than the Horseshoe Bend overlook, this is it. We booked a backhaul services which provided kayaks or paddle boards and a 10 mile boat ride of the river. Once you reach Petroglyph ...
West Fork | Our Favorite Hike In Sedona

While it may not be the most beautiful hike in Sedona to everyone, we thought this trail was something very special and one of, if not the best trail we completed while in Sedona. West Fork is a 6.5 mile round trip hike through Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness. There you will encounter stream crossings as well as some great views throughout the canyon. If you make it to the end of the approx...

Bell Rock Path in Sedona is not only a beautiful trail, it is a great beginner path for mountain biking. Sedona has some of the best mountain biking in the US (so I've read), and this trail allowed beginners like us to get out there and explore what this red rock paradise has to offer. Yawn. There’s not even like an White Castle there or nothing
My name is Kari too 😁 guess I should hit subscribe! 🤣💜
awesome! I feel like it’s so rare to see that name spelled that way. Thanks for subscribing!
Those were beautiful views, thanks for taking us along.
Thank you. Appreciate the comment and support.
Was it cold?
It was a little chilly when we went. Jackets were needed.
Welcome to the Wild Wild West! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Loved it out there. Such a blast!
Still cannot believe we won the lottery for that. So fortunate. It’s a spectacular place
Seriously. Just crazy. A year of winning for sure!
Such an awesome hike! So glad I got to join you guys.
Glad you made it. What a fun trip that was.
Ready for the next adventure??
@@karitorres8607 just tell me when and where!!!
Well this was unexpected. With the sun glaring down, it looked warmer than what it was im sure. I get it you had poles, but I see myself sliding down those mountains on my arse from the snow cover 😷
Yeah wanted to keep everyone on their toes. Back to our regular scheduled content after this. Plus an exciting change of scenery from the south west to a new area. It was definitely chilly but felt warmer while hiking and with direct sunlight. Haha we may have slid once or twice.
I definitely did that a few times, the clips didn’t make the cut lol
One of my All time Favorites
I know. You loved that one. It was definitely beautiful.
@@TylerandKari I don’t suppose it’s beginner friendly?
So sick
It’s been good so far. Soon enough we will hit up some adventures.
That’s hella nice
Seriously! Definitely going again one day.
Where is this?
Sorry forgot to include the location. This is the Route of the Hiawatha in Montana/Idaho. It’s an old railroad now created into a rail trail.
Sorry not a trail I’m interested in to dusty ore like a road. Nice video.
It was a little rough too. But we appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching.
One month flew by, Glad you both are having so much fun not just aventurine but enjoying your jobs, i got a road to recovery but i will get there and prevail and cycle on and walking and gym. I got a strong will to make it and Faith to see me through these tough times 😊
So fast. Crazy how time flies. Work is going smoothly which is nice. Keep on pushing through. Keep going and stay strong.
Ready to go use it again!
We will be camping soon!
Were yall carful when yall were running on forest gump point? Or did any honking happen?
So despite the video looking pretty empty, there were so many people on the road above us and they definitely were getting in traffic and some honking occurred. We waited about an hour for a little later in the day, and for a good time when no cars were present. Did not want to disturb traffic or get hit.
@@TylerandKari how much honking was going on? Once or more?
@@akotohirosaki8868 I'm not sure. We just sat to the side and waited till the crowd mostly left.
Can you please give details about both of your bikes and your gear? Thank you!
Hi, so on this ride Kari is on her specialized turbo Vado 4.0 with 650b wheels, and it came with a rack on the back which we added a small bag and I believe a swift industries handlebar bag. As for Tyler, he is on a surly pack rat with 44mm tires 650b. About the thinnest tire you would want on this ride. He also has a surly rack on the back with a small bag attached. Hope that helps? We could do a gear update on a video if you would like too
What kind of bikes are you riding ? I would appreciate information as I am a new bike rider
Sorry, we need to be better about provide more details when out riding. Kari is on a specialized turbo Vado 4.0. I am on a surly pack rat. My tires are approx 44mm. Kari I believe a little wider. Both are running 650b wheels.
Time is going by so fast!
It always does
Such a beautiful place! Would love to do a guided horse back ride through there
One day when we go back!
My question, did you obey all signs?
Always. The goal is to have fun and share while following the rules.
Thank you for the stunning pictures. I put this on my bucket list. I checked, the loop road closes at 5pm. And it looks like you can bicycle this loop on a mountain bike😊
We were wondering about that. That would have been awesome if we had our bikes with us.
@@alethearobinson8132 Thanks for watching. Such a beautiful place to see. Oh, if you can bike it, that would be such a fun ride.
Excited to be back on the east coast for summer and fall. Hoping to see some beautiful fall colors again this year 🙏🏻🤞🏼
Let’s hope so. A new area, new fall!
"Nothin' like some kisses & some cookies to refuel" - Love it! Congrats on the finish. The Cookie Cabin is great, but you missed out on the best reward for pedaling up.. biking 'down' the mountain! Off the road, Mt. Lemmon has great mountain biking trails (Bug Springs, La Milagrosa), hiking, camping, Rose Canyon lake.. It's also a rock climbing mecca. I grew up here and live near the base, so this is my playground. Thanks for a great highlight of Tucson.. along with your Loop video. Come back soon! (not in summer) :)
Haha kept me going! Thank you. What a brutal ride. I definitely was bummed not biking down but that bike I had with me had such a touchy handlebar I didn’t feel comfortable keeping it steady at speed. I need to go back with a different bike. I didn’t know about the rock climbing but would love to revisit for camping and mountain biking. That’s such an awesome place to enjoy. I’m sure you have some great adventures. Thanks for watching. Hope it was entertaining. We loved Tucson. Definitely not summer though.
I live 3.5 miles from Saguaro National Park and always get the yearly pass. I ride it a handful of times a month. Great video! Thanks for giving my beloved city much love!
That’s awesome. The ride through those rolling hills is so fun and beautiful. Thanks for watching. Loved Tucson and hope to go back and ride more one day.
Watch out for the cave snakes ....😮
The little blind snake? He’s friendly.
Also you guys are way better than Kara and Nate no offense to them but I enjoy your videos much more cause yall do things that most of us normal people could afford or do
Well we really appreciate that. I do love their videos and their quality and camera shots are so good. But most of their trips we couldn’t do so just finding everyday adventures is our goal. We are still looking into a Florida trip, maybe collab video! If we can make it your way we will definitely let you know.
It’s a shame you guys aren’t going again this year 😢
Literally just said this morning, dang we could be on our way! So bummed. No matter what 2025.
where did you park whilst you were backpacking? was it secure? i would like to do what you did but need a place to put my van that is secure any suggestions?
So the tribe has parking at the trail start. However it fills up and most have to park on the road. We saw vans on the road as well. We were nervous about break ins but fortunate nothing happened while we were there except mice got into the back of our truck bed. I imagine some people rent a rental car?
Great job, thanks for sharing the video and the beautiful landscaping. Love the Forrest Gump shot..
Thank you. Monument valley was definitely beautiful. And that Forrest Gump shot came out nice. Took forever to wait for no cars though.
Two visitors to Maui on road to Hana were carjacked and robbed at gunpoint, say they were forced to run, hide and hike for their lives. Be super careful if you come upon a very narrow section of the road and it is barricaded, forcing you to stop.
That’s terrifying. As always be careful and try to pay attention to surroundings.
@@TylerandKari it's super rare to run into trouble.
We toughed it out 💪🏼 some people gave up and slept in their car
It got so much better by 9 pm. That sand though. Everywhere!
Love forrest gump. Sierra too
Haha. Nice. you recognized it.
which ebike do you ride? my husband wants us to ride in 2026!
Hi, so Kari has the Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0. It is a heavier bike, but with her training and not using the battery all the time she was able to get by with just one battery and charge nightly with the charter service. And awesome! Hope you make it out to ride.
We booked this trip with Kayak Horseshoe Bend. They offer a backhaul service up the canyon and provide kayak and paddle board rentals. Website is Kayakhorseshoebend.com We took off from Lees Ferry
Can u add contact like where we can rwnt and do same thing ?
Yes! I’ll pin it to a top comment in just a few minutes.
just added!
Great adventure guys so beautiful and peaceful thank you once again
It was such a fun one. Love ones that combine nature and adventure. Always appreciate the comment and support. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it.
Just when you thought seeing it from above was amazing, floating the river is spectacular. Also, seeing wild animals adds to the amazement
Yeah, I think still worth seeing top initially to get a perspective on the horseshoe part, but loved the river float more for sure!
Adding to the to do list. Thanks
It’s worth it! Thanks for watching.
What time of yr was this video?
It was in middle of July!
Like the second week of July
What shoes are appropriate to use? Road or trail? Thank you 😊
I would definitely use trail shoes. A good portion is on trails, and there are some gravel sections and inclines that trail shoes worked well on.
@@TylerandKari thank you. I signed up for my first half marathon with my daughter. Yohoo can't wait
@@mte9194you’re welcome. Thats awesome! Enjoy! Hope your run goes well and you both have a great time.
So different from all the other trails in Sedona. Absolutely beautiful. A must do for people visiting the area.
Just a great unique spot that we didn’t even know about. So happy we did the hike.
So beautiful thank you!!!
Thanks for watching. And it was absolutely gorgeous out there.
Absolutely secluded and beautiful another great video from to amazing people. 😊 happy and safe travels
Very secluded. We started early and saw very few people. Thanks always for the support!!!
Thank you. Such a fun hike to do and see something new and unexpected.
That was me in the beginning
Yeah? Awesome! Hope you enjoyed the ride and the video.
I’m interested in cycling up and mountain biking down.. are there vacation packages which are all inclusive? Air,auto ,bikes ( Rental) lodging ect …?? I want to cycle up one day stay at the top then Lemon drop the next.. thanks
I’m not sure about any of that unfortunately. I haven’t heard anyone talk about that large of a package deal. I did see a tour group on the mountain that was guiding a group on bikes. But since I didn’t use them, I don’t know the name of it.
@@TylerandKari ok .. question;: do you know if they rent road bikes and mountain bikes in the area?
@@davidelcess6559now that I do know. Absolutely. Tucson itself has multiple bike rental shops. We brought our own, but there are several in the area that rent both road and mountain bikes. I’ve heard of Tucsonbikerentals.org but I know there are a few others. I don’t know about any on top of mt Lemmon.
@@TylerandKari thank you
It's a flat trail and you can't peddle???
I think we did pedal in the video.
7:25 it's pronounced you-doll :)
Haha thank you. I was wondering on that one. Sometimes just got to run with it.
her seat is too low. hard to get power like that.
👍 I think you’re talking about the first bike in the video she is on (mountain bike one?). And we agree. Not hers though and we didn’t pay much attention to the seat adjustment apparently lol. Does seem quite low when looking back.
I also have a specialized Vado. I don’t think I would take it as the suspension is more road tuned than it is for that stuff. My Specialized levo However, will be perfect for that ride.
100% agree. We didn’t think it was going to be quite as rocky as it was. Plus we didn’t have any other bike. We did actually see someone with a Levo out there and he was crushing it having a good time. Looked like a nice bike too.
You missed the Red Sand Beach. The best little beach in Maui. A short hike from Hana. Put on good shoes because the trial is steep and rocky. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Sand_Beach
Oh my gosh! Someone had told us about this afterwards too and we were bummed about not seeing it or including it in this. But hey, I guess we have a reason to return now! 😏
@@TylerandKari Next time rent a cabin in WAIʻĀNAPANAPA STATE PARK. The limit is 5 nights. The best cabin is #5, #4 is not bad too. $100 for nonresidents, and $70 for residents of Maui County. Our friend, the Maui resident, reserved it for us. No problems. Hana is only a few minutes away. Cabins are rustic but have hot showers, refrigerators, stoves, etc.
@@jkolodzinskiwe heard about those. They were fully booked when we went. If we get a chance to return this will be an absolute must for us. Sounds like such a great spot to experience the area and be close for the next day exploring Hana.
