Went to Alamo 3 weeks ago and had a bit of a tough time out there. Usually Alamo is non stop. Apache has been amazing the last few times I went, I’m hoping to grab some biggens during the week at saguaro 🌵 great video as always 🎣
It's that time of the year. It's either feast or famine out there. Apache has def been the exception. Things should pick up soon when it starts to cool down a bit. Lake temps are already dropping. Good luck at Saguaro!
You should check out the black label Balsa battle toad from wood bait country. I've been doing pretty well with them up here at willow lake in Prescott now that the weeds are going down

On another note, that's why I don't like to use those swivels! man that was painfull to find out it got away. I caught an 8.5lber with a snap swivel like you had. I was not pulling on it really hard, though. I let him wear himself out. What area of Alamo do you like? Bottom, top, eat, west?
@@scottwelder Nice! This is the first time I've broken a swivel. I will admit my drag was too tight. It should have never happened but oh well. I've only fished Alamo a few times. So far I like it all but I think I prefer launching from the ramp at mid-lake and heading across to the other side.
They defiantly make better swivels. Look at amysports. I use the ss saltwater snap ball bearing one tied to 20# braid for all my top water rigs. Thxs for taking us.

I have only had the swivel pop like that once and now you wont find them in my boat.
Yeah, I usually use a small barrel swivel on these tiny whopper ploppers but I didn't have any this day. I don't use swivels for anything else.
