I used the Caswell 2 part tank sealer on my OP 66 FLH tanks. It's been in there 4 plus years and doing the job fine. Had a pin hole in my fresh painted 37 oil tank. I drained and cleaned it, put it inside where it needed to go, 8 years ago and still holding strong. I wouldn't weld it. Not worth the risk.
