"Maybe 1 infinite combo" has dozens of infinite combos lol
Akroma's Memorial will make your creatures immune to Horobi ;)
@@OllyWood688 actually, it won't. Horobi's ability is not targeting and Akroma's Memorial gives protection from black. Horobi's ability says when a creature is targeted destroy that creature. If the spell targeting is any other color, the triggered ability will resolve since the ability itself doesn't target.
@@OllyWood688 The most popular indestructible enabler card in Horobi decks is Eldrazi Monument
@@OllyWood688 Protection from states: This [object] can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, enchanted, or equipped by anything [quality].”
Tatsache, gerade auf MTGA ausprobiert, Drannith Ruins auf mein Horobi während Memorial draußen war, rip. Memorial fliegt raus. Leider kein Eldrazi Monument in Arena...
@@OllyWood688 I translated it. Yeah I wish it worked the way you thought to be honest. You'd think that it would but yeah there's a few ways around protection and having the ability not "target" is one of them. Lots of cards that say "choose" or "that" will still work.
Sting untaps at the beginning of the combat step NOT the end step
Brother this looks so fun. So so fun. Can’t wait for my friends to hate me. When I first started messing with my camera to focus on cards better I found the auto focus worked great with a black background. Too much in the background and your camera just can’t figure out what you want it to focus on. That being said, zombies are my main deck and I love the playmat lol. Grab you a plain one and I bet that will help. Come out with more videos!!
@@trainsworth Thank you so much for the tip! I have a plain red one that should do the trick. 🙏🏼 It is such a fun deck! I chose Arcanis solely because of the art and went from there. And yes Zombies are freaking awesome! One of my favorite tribes (and playmat haha).
@@trainsworth I really do appreciate the focus advice it was driving me nuts haha
@@nelsikegaming Varina esper zombies is BIS brother!
@@nelsikegaming absolutely man!!
Dreadhorde invasion is kinda bad imo. Everytime I have played it, its under performed. P.S i wouldnt swap out wilhelt for meathook. Maybe annointed procession out for meathook?
I took this deck apart over a year ago but it did have meathook in it at some point and it did very well. Yes dreadhorde invasion could very easily be taken out especially since the zombie token is not hasty.
@@nelsikegaming after I sent the comments, I realized I'm dealing with a larger pool of cards then what you were back when you made this video. I've been tinkering with a turbo zombies path.
@@jessewills7441 I'd love to see your decklist
@@nelsikegaming oh I don't think I can send links. Moxfield, Varina low power, Jesse wills. Currently in the play testing stage of it
@@jessewills7441 Awesome! If you want to get more value from your Haakon I recommend Ashes of the Fallen. But then again, this isn't a reanimator deck I'm just throwing it out there. I'm assuming you're keeping Filth and Wonder out for flavor reasons but those are great includes if you want some free evasion for your attackers. I like that you kept your cmc as low as possible. I find that's the best way to play her.
I prefer my cards to be repetitive so I can mow down everything every turn and if I activate something to target and they destroy it, I can activate again and again and again in response. All you options are free but they are once per turn. I also dropped veilstone amulet bc it really wasnt good enough in the list tbh. Id love to share my list with you if you're interested.
My list has been updated since then. I'd love to see yours. I've changed the deck to where it doesn't need horobi in the late game. It actually has win cons now and is less of a reanimator/steal deck
Right. Let me see if I can find the link for my list
Sorry about the late response. I was at work and had to update the list to its current state
I still plan on doing a search or two and playing around a little with what I'm runnin
@@tylerstegman6846 Sounds good! Looking forward to seeing it when it's ready
Blade of selves OP in this deck
It really is haha
Very great deck 👏
There's actually two more 0 cost creatures in your colors for this, and i find running at least 3 + walking ballista is ideal. They're phyrexian walker and shield sphere
Updated list is way better than this
Additional big recommendation for people, if you're already running academy rector, consider adding in a copy of legion loyalty. While you'd never want to cast it, cheating it out can be a great way to advance your boardstate from one where a combo piece like enduring would get hated out of the game
@@Diana-tx2iz I love it! Thank you!
im building a horobi deck rn, since there is no real wincon in these decks i looked it up. I found a really interesting budget deck from commander quarters with a massive lifedrain wincon. For example peer into the abyss and underworld dreams killing people instantly. Horobi is managing everything else by killing stuff.
It's actually awesome that you commented this as 3 days ago I rebuilt this deck with those win cons in mind 😂😂

We are legion we are one of the same mind -slivers-
😂💪🏼
My man, got that OG diffusion sliver. I actually like the idea of humanoid slivers and thought they looked pretty dope. The original designs are great but some diversity in design is never a bad thing
I was thinking about buying the new ones but I agree haha it's nice to have different styles
You could replace seedborn muse with intruder alarm it's a bit better and faster to combo with, I've got my own sliver deck I've been slowly foiling over the years
Oh yeah in my new list seedborn muse is gone and intruder alarm is in 💪🏼
and that's awesome!! I wish mine was foiled out
So, your deck is super expensive. I have a Tiamat deck and I'm pretty sure mine is cheaper as I'm not running all of those non basic lands, or Teffaries protection. I'll be the first to admit that my deck needs a bit more work, but currently it's undefeated in my play group.
I changed my Commander to The Ur-Dragon and removed the dual lands so it's a bit less expensive now. But yes it is naturally a very strong deck.
Love the video! What sleeves are those?
Thank you!! I always use Dragon Shield White
I'm a little surprised you just aren't running intruder alarm, mortuary, dark heart sliver or constricting sliver, constricting sliver is great for when someone wants to exile your stuff because you can make that token with the sliver queen and essentially blink it out of existence and it's great for things like farewell.
The new list has intruder alarm in it, mortuary is a great fit and I have a copy thank you! I'll consider Constricting for sure. 💪🏼
Great deck! FYI Training Grounds cannot reduce cycling as it isnt an activated ability of a creature on the battlefield.
Did I really say that? 😂😂 you're 100% right. I've updated the list as well. 🙏🏼
@nelsikegaming that's ok, I thought it could until a few weeks ago when I built a sliver deck haha. It's one of those things where there are a lot of cards in magic and knowing the exact wording of each is near impossible!
good commander 👍
estimated costs?😅
that's gonna be a total of $expensive 😂
honestly if I had to do it all over again, I'd proxy it
@@nelsikegaming 🥲🤣
Yours is one of the better deck texts I've seen recently, I had started building this deck and was looking through to find some ideas, some of these people's decks are not the best
This means a lot to me as I put lots of time and effort into my lists 🙏🏼 thank you
I play a sliver deck in my casual pod with Morophon as the commander. Such a staple, I don't think they'd have fun with this monster of a deck you've got here lol.
Cool list. Your audio is a little off. Maybe the gain is set to high.
This is honestly one of the better Voja deck list I’ve seen. Maybe biased because it’s almost identical to mine lol.

yes!!! Have fun!!
Are you considering posting a video of this deck in action? I’d love to see how you play it and against an opponent.
I thought about doing game play videos but my pod speaks spanish only lol the deck has changed a little and I'm proud to say it is awesome. If I do get a gameplay thing going this will be the first deck I record.
Awesome! Love to hear it
Love the Deck, but we are playing in a smooth group, just edh without fast Mana Like manacrypt or vault and Tutors . It would be Great in you have a more casual one 😂
Oh I do! Check the sideboard. Switch fast mana and anything you don’t want to play.
The considering section also has some great replacements.
Looks extremly good but close to no ramp is kinda unplayable in my playgroup.
i've played three games with it so far and won all 3 turn 7-8. Then again I did add a few more cards. This deck doesn't really need ramp it has creatures that tap for mana (with the right pieces) and once that happens going infinite is very easy. Even without that it's very easy to combo off and win. The deck on the video is already outdated but the moxfield link in the description will always be updated.
@@nelsikegaming Okay i think i need to spend a big chunk of money then. Best List ive found for that Commander by far. Thanks for sharing. Do you think earthcraft is replacable with elven chorus? Surely not the same powerlevel but im usualy not buying cards that cost over 50 bucks.
@@dunpeal1923 Oh absolutely!! That card should be in this deck for redundancy so yeah you could definitely replace it. I appreciate the compliment! It's a fun deck I've had people say they love the engine. I love that you start slow and seem non-threatening. Then turn 5-6 people start to realize you're setting up for a combo. I love that it's like Elves but with access to blue 😂
Great video, gotta love korvold as he's a total boss.
Is there a reason to play this over the more compact Razaketh + Dredgescape Z. + Gravecrawler package for Buried Alive? Or is it just a Johhny thing? Edit: in reference to the easy combo specifically.
Well it's a less known combo and people might be confused as to what to interact with.
Btw thank you for introducing this combo to me it seems pretty cool too. I do believe you need Krrik and Aetherflux Reservoir for the combo to work infinitely.
@@nelsikegaming The Raz combo sets up the same sort of tutor loop but you are incentivized to go quicker. You're still able to do things like tutor for a reanim. aura and Sacrifice Raz to ease the cost of Crawler. Just options, if you manage to get to the end point of the easy combo then there was already a lot of interaction points to interrupt, so maybe a second similar line thats compact and has some overlap could be nice.
@@DasJarHead Can you break down the combo for me? I'm not seeing how you can pull that combo off turn 2-3 in this deck. I would only need to order a $0.30 card to add to the deck if it turns out to be better 💪🏼 I googled the combo but couldn't find anyone talking about it.
@@nelsikegaming Also idk how much you like the idea, but in my old Inalla builds I ran Kederekt Levithan as a Buried Alive target. Animate Dead KLevi to full bounce board including ADead, then recast ADead on the desired target. That deck was using Wanderwine Prophets when it was the cool thing so I had more flex space in my bin targets than either combo we mentioned. But it's become a pet include of mine in any UBx reanimator decks.
If you have Tendrils of Agony in this deck with the Thrumming Stone, you can kill 1-2 people before even attacking with your rats. Early game, you can take out one person. Mid game you can take out two people and then swing with the rats on the third person when comes back to your turn.
I just bought tendrils of agony for another deck! I feel like it would be better suited for a combo deck. It might feel like a dead draw in this one if I don't have the thrumming stone out.
I'll give it a test drive because you're totally right it would be interesting to see that play out
I’m a Korvold player myself and I have a question to ask in Ernest. I started building it and just made it better and better and better till it was something like a budget cedh deck. By budget I mean sub $1k. I never meant it to not be strong I was simply limited by lack of knowledge and the $$$. Now it’s a fully optimized cedh deck. It became to fast for foodchain (really that’s just an A+B combo and the cards are pretty dead outside the win turn so I replaced w dual caster twin flame which have more utility in the deck generally. My question is this; “why do you, and lots of people, build decks that are strong but not quite cedh strong?” Are you building towards a leaner more efficient deck just not there yet? Are you not aware of some of the budget friendlier combos like breach + grinding statin w a mana positive rock like lotus petal or sol ring? Or stitchers supplier + culling the weak w breach? Dual caster twin flame? Dockside plus sac outlet like .. I mean there are tons. You could have this deck winning turn 4 consistently w a back up grind plan w/out breaking the bank. Do you not know these things or are you intentionally not making the deck as good as you might? No shade here just an honest question. I play w a friend group who never meant to not play cedh we just didn’t always know how and there is an expense (though not necessarily as bad as you may think) Namaste my man 🖖
Hi!!! Great question. I personally limit myself. I don't play CEDH and none of my friends do either. I actually took this deck apart recently because people would assume it's CEDH and target me immediately which makes sense. I like my games to last 8-9 turns maybe even 10-11 in some cases. EDH is supposed to be a casual format and there are many ways to build and play. If I wanted to optimize this deck to the fullest it would feel and play like every other Korvold CEDH deck. I wouldn't have any wiggle room for "pet cards" or interactions I may like in jund. I would also have to proxy since my expensive mana rocks/lands are scattered across 23 decks 😂 When it comes to deckbuilding I believe holding back sparks creativity. Winning turn 3-4 consistently only seems fun if the people I'm playing with are also trying to win by then.
Any update now that the new merfolk commander deck is out?
Yes! The decklist in the description is updated
My name is Varina
Not nearly enough merfolk decks lets goooo 🎉
I forgot to mention Cryptolith Rite/ Earthcraft are an essential part of the combos.
Hey man, awesome content!!! Btw your decklist link expired as I heard you added some ramp
Thank you for watching! If you head over to moxfield.com/users/nelsike you can see all my updated deck lists. Korvold is still on there 💪🏼
@nelsikegaming Thanks for prompt reply! Soo fast 🔥
Great deck !
I have been tinkering with your list in moxfield the past couple of days. While playing it i ran into a lot of hands in which I would draw Anointed Procession, and was unable to produce tokens. if i recall, you had 11 sources of token production in it. I would recommend cutting Anointed procession or leaning heavier into tokens. I have also noticed many hands that I had many sources of life gain, but no real way to convert that lifegain in to an advantage (something like Archangel of Thune). I think this deck really wants to be playing Dawn of Hope. This will give you another source of tokens, as well as another "Whenever you gain life" trigger. I think this deck also wants to be running Griffin Aerie and Luminarch Ascension as well. I recommend cutting Lone Rider for any of those three. I've also noticed that i have seen a lot of hands which are 0 or 1 land hands, I know the curve is pretty low, but more lands wouldn't hurt. I see twelve artifacts in the deck, and I am wondering how often the Inventor's Fair is relevant. I think when looking at the land base, either adding in a couple of artifact lands (Ancient Den, Darksteel Citadel), lands that create tokens (Castle Ardenvale), Fetches, or Cycle lands would be beneficial. I'm still working on my list, Ill post it after I am finished.
Hi Gary! I have been there with anointed procession and believe you're right. The token making lands are also a great suggestion. I have tried Dawn of Hope and Griffin Aerie and those cards were cut. They were in the deck for a long time and never seemed to do anything. Now Luminarch Ascension is a great include I had not seen. Thank you!
More lands would be good for sure. If you were to add more lands, would you say you'd possibly draw a lot more late game when you don't really want to draw them? I cut a few lands before because that seemed to be the case.
i could see that with the Griffin Aerie, but that is a shame with Dawn of Hope. it seems to fit both the token theme and the life gain theme very well, and on top of that it gives mono white some extra draw which typically it needs. ill take more of a look at it tomorrow. take it easy. @@nelsikegaming
@@nelsikegaming that's part of the reason I suggested the cycle lands or fetchlands. Im thinking 34 lands. It will put you just over 1/3 of the deck being lands, so in your openings hands you should see about 2 lands.
@@garythacker6731 I usually mulligan until I get atleast 3 lands lol but I know what you're saying. I'll make some changes here pretty soon. I might give those other two cards another try. Definitely buying Luminarch Ascension and cutting Anointed for sure.
I'm going to put this together in the next week or so. How do you feel about Maskwood Nexus? It seems like an underwhelming tribe that could really benefit from it.
Well I didn't really go for the Fox tribal theme but if you add that you can take advantage of the Fox offering a lot more. I just feel like it might feel like a dead draw later in the game especially at 4 cmc
@@nelsikegaming That's what I was thinking as well. Being able to sacrifice any creatures you have to use the fox offering seems pretty good to me. Fox Offering is instant speed, I could see cases in which someone tries to destroy a creature and Instead you sacrifice it to play your commander. Here is a route I have considered. Do you think he is viable to help a pillowfort stax deck which goes for some of those other wins (Test of Endurance, Felidar Sovereign, Aetherflux Reservoir, or Angel of Destiny)?
@@garythacker6731 Oh absolutely! If you like to win that way white is the way to go. Add Ghostly Prison and other pieces and build it that way give it a try. I built it this way because I liked how rewarding it was to get tokens and triggers off doing nothing 😂
IMHO, wheel of misfortune is not good enough. Too many conditions that need to be met to do anything to your opponents. Every card in this deck should be a must do "x" thing. Aside from that, i bet this deck is NASTY to play against 😅 loves it!
Oh yeah that card was cut soon after the video was made haha I was like yeah screw this card 😂😂 It is!! Especially now with the Orcish Bowmasters
@@nelsikegaming I think wheel of misfortune could have been decent if it was worded better. It seems like 2/4 players basically get off Scott free while high/low guesses pay the price. I love seeing how everyone plays Nekusar their own way. It's astonishing how many cards work well with him. I had to cut like 30 cards from my deck haha and then I see you have some other ones that also work well that I never even considered. I have to go buy more 🤣
Thank you
You can make infinite mana when you make infinite rat tokens and sac them to the altar
Oh absolutely
This was beautiful
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’d say this is a 7-8 power level. Token generation is fantastic but it looks too slow to me. My Korvold deck was my first deck and is my baby but I’d only say mine is a 9 with 9 tutors, the dual lands, powerful mana rocks and is the best I believe I can make it.
I use a website that spits out a power level number and it's not accurate most of the time. I do agree with you though.
Since there are new slivers released, do you have an updated list?
This deck focuses on reducing colored pips as Morophon is the main tutor target and most new slivers cost 3 generic + one colored mana. I would add Gravemother + Hatchery Sliver.
I would remove Essence Sliver and Magma Sliver to add those two
thank you, will try them in my deck@@nelsikegaming
@@AianDizon-eb7vd You're welcome! If your deck is different than this one I would definitely consider the others as well. Especially if you're running the First Sliver as the Commander
Boring stapel money shit . 0 building skill
Since you have rooftop storm, why not throw in a copy of acerak litch king from AFR? That goes “infinite” if you venture into the mines of phandelver.
I don't like two card combos. Leads to games where I don't really feel like I did anything to earn my win. Even in competitive games.
