      Will probably have the big 5 pages in there, maybe some of the better ones. but there's barely going to be enough room for the official stuff! Everyone from a set and all the reasoning behind who was included there will be present though! And I suppose if I want it to be a complete picture of the css. they better be here with the ex sets. At this rate and after showing the sample pages on the community tab it's easily looking like a 2 volume project with totk in the second half!

  • @Karalora
    @Karalora 3 дні тому

    What a fun project! ......... Now do all the wildlife! (j/k) It occurs to me that LEGO could absolutely promote set collecting with some sort of Hyrule Compendium interactive feature. Each LoZ set comes with collectible cards featuring pictures of the monster(s), animal(s), food ingredients, and weapons included in the set and a QR code that adds them to an online Compendium account. The kicker is that the set ALSO includes a randomly selected booster pack of cards for entries that aren't in any of the sets, and you can also buy booster packs directly, outside of any set, and maybe there are fun features you can unlock in the online version by collecting the right ones, etc.

    • @octanethermoplastic
      @octanethermoplastic 3 дні тому

      I know it's a joke but after this and the fuses before it, I think I'm done with complete collections! I really love the idea of cards, especially if the ingredients are lego-ised like we did for the fish pie poster! It actually reminds me of the cards included in the original potc sets and the game enhancement cards from orient expedition in 03'. Little bit of nexo knight powers mixed in too! very lego. Ohhh now I want to try it, but that could be quite extensive. However it would also basically be like having css trading cards with my art... I think boosters would unfortunately be unlikely given lego's penance against supporting their themes with that kind of accessory or by selling parts/figs separate and so on. But included with sets, app integration and some sort of gamification for fun but also to come back to the zelda heritage..... OH now the brain is ticking!

    I got the official Lmb kit for the Deku tree. The best thing about it are these thin plates with studs on both sides. So great to make snod building less clunky. My general impression was that the cables are too short to individualise the light setup a lot. I’m also a bit worried on how well the connections of the cables will last, because they are so thin. It would have been great as well if the connection pieces were the same as the old system. However, now I’m not sure if you can make them compatible.

    • @octanethermoplastic
      @octanethermoplastic 10 днів тому

      I believe you can buy a converter from 1.0 to 2.0. Although I think I had to search hard for it. Like you I am worried about the cable durability especially as I don't think the kits are intended to be installed then removed and then installed again and again. But I guess we will see! I didn't have a problem with cable length myself. But maybe I got lucky, perhaps the kit feels more restrictive because they only provide the parts to make that exact combo work. Not sure.... either way I'm happy for now but still concerned. I hope you like the look of your tree!

    • @octanethermoplastic
      @octanethermoplastic 10 днів тому

      If you've got the cash I'd say it's well worth spending the extra for LMB instead of the amazon ones, just for the sleekness of the cables. However there are other options that are cheaper, but less discrete and less pricy. But I was happy to invest in a system that I can add to other models! Pleased for now though!

      So I have some instructions (both free and paid) over on rebrickable, search zelda and your'll find the builds before too long. But it's not all of them, certainly not lookout yet. Biggest reason is that I like to make sure any instructions I do are tested and quality meaning I build the models first myself before making instructions. This takes time and is expensive. As for buying parts, you can find most of what you'd want on brick link, the largest lego marketplace. You can upload rebrickable inventories to their site. Although some parts are cheaper on lego bricks and piece!

    • @octanethermoplastic
      @octanethermoplastic 17 днів тому

      @TheBrickMaster2502 I guess just program in delays, like reads colour waits 0.5 and then charges. 2 reasons for the front being chosen. If link is being remote controlled, then he will trigger the action out in the field when he sees the colour. This only works if it’s in the front. I anticipate this would be a more common play loop than having a stationary link then triggering him with colour to make him move. Secondly. I chose front so it’s on the same side as his eyes. I like the parallel to his vision.
