I did something pretty fun on stud io, I built a base that was the same size and style as the Star Wars Trash Compactor base, and built up the Master Sword pedestal on it. It fits perfectly even with the two trees included!
This video's fun to watch, because I also did a couple a custom Zelda Minifigs years ago, and my OOt Link figure ended up very close to the official version. I originally used an orc hair piece from Lego LoTR, the one with the pointy ears and long hair in the back, painted it yellow and flesh colored and then glued bangs cut from yellow foam sheets onto the front and crafted a foam sheet hat to top it off. Later I used modeling clay to sculpt a new hair piece, which I'm stick pretty proud of. I also had multiple Master Sword and Shield variations. The main difference I did for my figure was creating a sheath for the sword to sit in, and attached it to an Indiana Jones shoulder bag piece, and the effect worked perfectly. If there's one new part I think they should add in future sets its something like that.
@@MaxM210 wow! You were committed to making it look good! I bet it feels great to see the official figures now too! I agree scabbard would be super cool, maybe they will although I find it hard to tell with that sort of thing
@@RogerMollet yes, the Afro in a brown or the Zane hair. As seen in the gerudo fortress custom set…. If those parts arnt in those colours, just short hairs work
Do you think every Hylian will have ears going forward? I think That for the time, they will, but if the theme gets super huge, then a few specific figs will have no ears. These will be outliers but still very annoying.
@@TheLEGOZora I feel it comes down to hairstyle and character importance, if the perfect hairpiece exists but has no ears, then I’m sure they will just use it. Inconsistency is frustrating but I’ll never criticise them for smart usage of existing molds and keeping pieces versitile, we have plenty of bigger fish to fry with a real lelda theme, molds need to be saved for characters that need them, link hats, totk rauru, big figs, enemy head sculpts.

Would you use a preexisting hair piece for the hylian carpenters from OoT?

@@octanethermoplastic I used the tall Afro in black for one.
