I just discovered your channel today and I really like it. I wanted to say that first so you know I'm not a hater before I say this..... I bought all three of these earlier this year...... check them out now! Although 3M cut their dividend, the stock then went up 30% in equity. I would have preferred keeping that >5% div and slower equity growth, but the boost took the sting out of it. Vz already raised their div once. In 2025, I plan on trimming off the top of the wireless providers, as I believe there will be a pullback.

I suspect the defence industry and entrenched govt interests will convince Trump to continue finding Ukraine. Think about it, most 'aid' comes in the form of purchasing goods from US companies and sending them to Ukraine. The war essentially granted a subsidy to the US industry.

The thing about energy stocks is…when you „drill, baby, drill“, it might create abundance and hence prices might go down when the different energy companies start to price battle each other 🤔 pipeline companies charge by oil transported however. So I have my eyes on Enbridge and Kinder Morgan. The falling rates also benefit those kind of companies due to how they finance their infrastructure projects. 🤔 I’m curious how this will play out ☺️

Is it too late to buy JPM or Visa . I wanted to initially add either Healthcare stock or Bank stock to my portfolio, but viewing how high the value is I’m unsure if id make a good enough profit or have sustainable growth. I’m sure JPM would be a good long term though.

Have a small position in bbdc and buying into main. The dividend coverage for these is absolutely critical. Also main pays special dividends at times. The yield is more like 7.5 or 8%

The $5k or so I get every month from dividends say otherwise - at this point, all reinvested to keep the snowball going. Took seventeen years to get to this point.

Exactly, to each their own! I'm 27 and only own two ETF's, SCHD+QQQM. Besides that, a handful of individual stocks. It can be that simple. I plan on retiring before 40 so a higher allocation to SCHD doesn't bother me. Can't beat their dividend growth+starting yield.

Dividends are so irrelevant, that’s why so many millionaires live off of them 😂

The Idea that I don't value total return as highly as reliable cashflow seems bonkers to the critics. But I don't need to save up a lump sum for some kind of big purchase. I need to generate income that I can live off and that allows me to retire early.

I follow the same approach as yours. I'm young, so I need income between now and until I retire. Dividends via SCHD seems like the logical choice. Plus I ran out of places to put my money. Threw some into dividends.

When i was in my twenties, i was so impatient, I would never grasp the idea of investing. Now as I'm much older, I'm 70% yield, 30% growth. I should've started earlier instead of playing catch up. I'm just trying to set up to retire early. Good luck everyone, thanks for the vid, JP!

I think dividends are fantastic for retired people. I’m not into it now because after taxes and less growth over an etf like VOO, I don’t want to miss the massive extra growth over a decade+

I‘d like to add the dividend snowball and dividend safety to the mentioned points 🤔☺️ a) reinvesting the cashflow will generate even more cashflow over time b) sure, it depends on the stock, but a drop/cut of the dividend by 30% is much less likely than a drop of 20-30% of the stock price due to some news 🤔 personally to me it feels like dividend investing is a lot safer than investing into a company and hoping the share price growth will go up indefinitely 🤔 c) also for dividend and value investors market volatility isn’t as stressy and rather a point where you invest even more when you see a „bargain“. Market volatility won’t affect your cashflow though.

Love reinvesting dividends, get some great stocks and put them on auto pilot in a ROTH IRA. "...The miracle of compounding.."

I wonder what effect if any would this have on Altria's stock price and the company as a whole if/when cannabis will be legalized in the US. 🧐

P&G was one of my first purchases when I was about 22 or 23 🙈 I disagree on the point that it isn’t„for younger investors“. PG is one of the stocks where you know that the company is gonna be around for probably your entire life. Having this kind of „safety“ net of dividends which you can really count on, really, really, really helped me through some tough life situations. ☺️

Spoiler... it's a pass if you are smart. I've owned this in my ROTH for prob 20-25 years. With drip, it still falls behind SP500, and massively behind QQQ. Its up, but you'll do better with SCHD, SPY, or QQQ. Better options out there.

They're a safe, consistent, and defensive stock. I have them and will continue to buy, although I'm waiting for a price drop. Steady growth dividend. Hey JP, if no one else requests a stock, I would ask for an analysis of Target. Although I sold my shares, I'd like to see a vid on them if you could. Thanks for the info!

What is a company called after it pays dividends for over 100 years?

Right now I think its around a "fair" price. A small buy in my books, was more of a buy when it was around $150-$160 early 2024.
