Hey, random guy here. Have you considered taking the funds you are allocating for O, and instead DCA into ULTY? They have the same pay schedule. I originally had O in one portfolio and ULTY in another; bang for the buck, ULTY crushed it in the same time frame.

Due to the concentration, basically 3-4 stocks make up the majority of the ETF…it seems rather risky to me, instead of adding a „safety net“. Can you elaborate on your thesis there? Personally I’m using Berkshire as my „safety net“ of sorts. Worked out pretty well so far.

I have a mixed dividend and growth portfolio. The tend to favor dividends stocks but will add in growth stocks when I see a dip in prices. My current portfolio for 2024 is around 137K and my dividend return for 2024 is around 5300$. My current portfolio has 27,000$ from unrealized gains. My current goal is to grow my current annual dividends to around 10k per year by end of the 2028. Nothing beats passive income. I would encourage anyone who wants to invest to do so if they are young and allow time to do its magic.

17% is great. I was up 14%. I’m a happy camper if I average 8%.

In my opinion you need to add a Growth ETF . That would balance out the portfolio and add total returns.

If you want your portfolio yields to hit 3k, you should put that 40k projected deposits into SCHD with its 3.6 yield. Your portfolio allocation has 70% into VOO. VOO only has a 1.2% yield.

Great video, your goal seems attainable, even though you'll need to stay focused! My goal is a stretch for sure even if the market helps me. I want to get to $75k portfolio, around $55k now. But need to keep in mind that my salary is about €20k per year, so we'll see how that goes for me 😅

Go for 150K! Even if you dont hit it, you'll still do better than the previous year. Keep up the great numbers JP!

Peter Lynch said, If u can get it right on 5 of 9 stocks then you’re really good. Oaktree capital’s Howard Marks has said buying at the right price is key as many stocks can be fine when they are cheap enough, few stocks are good no matter the price. So ultimately buying good companies at good prices is what it is all about. And Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett have been saying that for decades.

SCHD is my number one holding. I add to it every month.

don't forget about taxes when you sell your stocks, unless you manage to be able to invest in a tax free account.

I love dividends.. i see a good opportunity in WPC right now.. But i have others reits like: AGNC, NLY, GOOD, GMRE. Bdc's: TCPC, OBDC, BXSL, ARCC. And etfs: SDIV, QYLD and JEPI. ❤🤑

I love income stocks like Main Street, realty income, Ares capital and altria. Reinvesting every cent. I love current cashflow more than a promise of possible future dividend growth.
