Watching this is good to remind me how terrible 4.5 is. Just awful movement, shanking gimme volleys and blasting easy balls out for no rhyme or reason. Reminds me completely of my own game!! 😂😅
He didn't beat you because of bad line calls. He beat you because he got into your head and you started playing the way he wanted you to. As you've seen every single tournament has people making crap calls. Just have to find ways to play within the lines more on big points to not give them a chance after they've shown they're going to make crap calls.
You have a nice topspin backhand you just have to commit to it....usually slice backhanders have poor footwork....tell your top spin backhand has a lor more depth and you will control the point more...next match tell yourself i will only hit top spin backhands...
Also your slice back hand has got to go....slice back hands are a handicap and keeps your opponent in a confortable offensive position...
You have to go after his serve...make him pay for such a weak serve....attack his backhand ....but man you have to destroy his serve...
I dont see anything wrong with this behavior tbh
Great channel 👏
Oh my god, this nick dude is ridiculous. Cheering obnoxiously after an error ... Horrible character. I hope you get revenge Andrew by beating him outright next time! Great performance man!
If you look at Nicks feet too, they come extremely close to foot faulting every serve 😅
Man nick takes that "when in doubt call it out" a bit too far and too often 😢
Poor loser. Both with very inconsistent game.
Calls like that with the camera rolling.
I’d just start calling everything out even if it was a drop shot in the middle of the court!
probably would help if dude wasnt afraid of hitting bacjkhands.
righty Rafa out there dancing around those massive fhs. epic
lol, how can one watch this and comfortably tell that these balls are in or out? They're either going too fast, obstructed and the perception of the viewer is far different from the player, as we are looking at it from afar and at an angle.
usually i would agree with you but at 6:55 he hits the frame of his racquet on the literal edge of the baseline to make contact with the ball.
I play 5.0 in the OC want to hit sometime ?
Your forehand is clean af but watching you run around your backhand constantly is exhausting just to watch can't imagine how draining that is on court for you...curious why you don't just take the advice of some other commenters and just put some work on the backhand lol.
Essentially every point is ending on an unforced error. Not one closing play. And every serve is a slice right into the forehand pocket of the returner. I applaud you guys for playing up. But this is not 5.0 tennis.
i havent watched the whole video and I won't beat the dead horse that is line calls in USTA tennis. Theyll always be there. One thing, if you'd like some constructive criticism, is I didn't see your opponent volley much. It seemed like you had a few errors on first time passing shots. especially by your own omission he was unable to hit an overhead, I think you would have done better to have made him beat you at the net. Your mental game is awesome! Not easy to have a bad line call at 5-4 30s and go down 0-40 in the 5 all game. At that point I thought the set was over, but you made a great comeback in that game. You def have the fortitude to overcome the bs you faced in this match. Great match thanks for sharing!
what city are you based in?
Awesome! May I ask what camera and gear you use to record this? Thanks!
Good footwork, but you really need to capitalize with flattening out the forehand for some winners. Lots of opportunity to flatten one to force an error or for an outright winner. The loopy topspin isn't always the answer.
The forehand of the guy in the black shirt is atrocious
looks like Tony's baseline is pretty solid. He's definately comfortable there. With that in mind, hit short, bring him in and up to the net. Now you can either lob or pass him..That's how you can beat him next time...
Make your balls less loopy. Drive the ball when you get a short one. Otherwise, good to see the improvement. Impressive!
HAHAHA..YOU HOOKED HIM GOOD ON THAT BAD LINE CALL..!
WHAT STATE ???
12 point tie-breaker...
hahahaha...he totally raped you @ 6:55..your ball was good. Play it back at .25 speed and see. I hope "Nick" and all his friends and family watch this as well...CHEATERS SUCK !
how do you find these usta tourneys for some reason I cant find an y
You got beat fair and square honestly lol
Moon balls are relentless.
Hi Andrew, can you give a little more info about this tournament, i'm a high 4.0 and want to play more competitive tournament without blown away by some 5.0 players. thanks for your help
I’m sorry for what happened… But maybe you’re thinking and talking too much about things that are not tennis… A bad call is only a bad call, this is not tennis game.. Screaming for a mistake is a stupid thing and should not affect you… You was potentially for sure the better player on the court. Better serve, better groundstrokes, better foot work. But not better mindset… Because everything that happened in the court that’s not concerning the game was affecting you and your game… try to think point by point, even if there is a bad call and even if your opponent scream on your mistakes… No matter. Tennis is a game of a process, not a game of what happened in today’s or tomorrow match. Analyse your game, not the beahvour of your oppenent. Think about you and train every day whit humble and passion and for sure you will go to be better than him and beat him in straight easy sets, no matter about the line calls or the screaming… Think about your mindset, your return and your approcing shots. I think you lost the match for this things, not for his bad behavour. Good luck 💪🏽
Nick is an unsportsmanlike player. Know it Nick
Once he got called out for his blatant cheating it sent him into a rage. It's psychology 101, if we didn't know he was cheating 100% at first (cheating vs bad calls), we 100% knew after his pure demeanor shift once being called out. If someone wasn't cheating and got called out for cheating it wouldn't enrage them and change their entire personality lol.
This is awesome man. I needed this channel. Thank you !
Good videos. Keep up the good work!
Always nice when your opponent goes on to win the whole darn thing. Makes that jagged pill easier to swallow.
Been there…done that. I feel your pain. 14:14
Biggest difference I notice is that he is moving you around a lot more than you are him. Often it looks like you’re hitting approach shots nearly right to him when you could be just a hair more flexible with your placement. Also on the groundies, power is good - but what’s better is for sure depth i’d say.
Wow, 2 full sets with long rallied in 18 minutes 😂😂😂
Nick the prick
5.0? really? your 5.0 or 5.0 that everyone else knows ?
I picked up bad calls from him even before you mentioned it. You were gracious enough but honestly, the douchey come ons after every single point are just the biggest red flags ever
Tony is so centered and balanced for shots. And dang, he can grind and work points.
Work on backhand. The rest of your game is pretty solid looking.
Why is it when I hit with 5.0 players they played college tennis at Universities like Illinois, Georgia or Notre Dame? Not trying to take a shot at anyone, just trying to see why it looks different then the guys I played with when I lived in Charleston SC and now here in the Tampa Bay area. I am confused.
Hey man it's Felix met you today. Cool to see you play in real life been watching a lot of your matches. Hopefully can get in a hit in with you sometime
Hey Felix! I'll be around. I'll come hit with you and Khoa sometime👍
