We have a Spanish bank account and had to send over our proof of income from the UK or they would limit our use of it. Not sure why but we complied. Perhaps it’s because we use it to pay our holiday home expenses there.

I applaud these measures. It’s very comforting to know that there is data on fellow travelers and more importantly Spain will greatly reduce the number of homeless in tourist spots. Tourists will have to be self -sustaining. I think Spain is very forward thinking.
