How to Master Super Counters FAST | Dragon Ball Sparking Zero! Best Defense Tips (Guide)
This is a Dragon Ball Sparking Zero tutorial showing you how to master defensive Super Counters quickly. You can't Super Counter certain attacks like Super Perception but most attacks in the game are Super Counterable.
I'll show efficient methods to quickly learn it against different speed characters like SSJ4 Gogeta, Turles and LSSJ Broly as it makes a massive differerence to the precise 1-2 frame Super Counter timing.
There are also other factors to consider like the 12 frame cooldown reset which prevents spamming of the move otherwise it won't work. More Defensive Tips and Tricks in Sparking Zero will be uploaded soon to win games!

Vuce where did you go
All this comments is full of nunsense vanishing speech for real if you struggle on vanishing try to avoid vanishing fights and make him do the first vanishing
Hit square and up instead of up and square thank me later
i didnt understand a single thing u said👌👌😭😭
How have the updates affected the advice here?
Using the arrows does it work with the supercounter? Because in the game tutorial it says to use the up + square joystick
I thought the same thing apparently you have to be in classic controls to use the arrows
By any chance do you have a clip or vid on the how your settings look?
Brother this might be the best video on the subject
Can u sort ur videos by adding them to their desired playlists such as defence and attack… it would be more convenient… btw great video man.. u earned a sub 🎉
Is there a way to only practice vanishes in training? Including the infinite vanishes? Thanks
Press start and go to the training settings and go to the CPU section
what are your accessibility settings? like do you have any assists on?
Thanks for this Vid mate, really Helpful :) Definitely going to check out your channel !
3:38
Are you using classic controls?
Okay how do you do the z counter where it happens quicker than the normal vanish?? I was in a vanish battle with someone and they did like a quicker version that took Ki or something.
You can super counter the lighting and also go from super counter into vanish but i dont know about from vanish to super counter ive tried mant times didnt work ever
So, for infinite vanish you block once theyre behind you, or before the attack connects from behind? I can only manage it sometimes
How do I counter someone how hit my block once and vanish behind me cause that’s the I be losing cause I can never block it or dodge it. I try to do the same but I rarely work for me.
You mind making a in-depth explanation of Sonic Sway as well?
Hey when I do it I still come back in front of the character any tips ?
When there is the vanish strike where you just keep following them around smacking them left to right it eventually finishes with you standing on them, crashing them into the ground. If you just smash the strike button enough times, then it does most of the combo. But it does not do the very end where you stand on them, crashing them into the ground. What is that last command to finish off that combo? Do you dash and punch (X and then square up close?)
Does anyone know the piano song which played in the gogeta ssj4 vs gogeta ssj blue practice ? thank you so much!
It sounds like a song from Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time but stylized. Most of the songs on here sound like Nintendo-esk sounds. When he started talking again after the Broly counters, it sounded like old Pokémon and Street Fighter.
Where do I go to play the mode he’s in (dummy player)
Earned a SUB Dude
Lightning attack actually can be super countered unlike back in bt3
The timing for super counter is still pretty whack. The fact you have to use a directional input is wild imo.
You actually can super counter the lightning attack my friend did it yesterday
Yep you can even super counter GRABS lol.
After watching video this by far the best videos explaining dumb founded tech
jesus christ how is this fun
Mixups. That's the answer to everyone's question about why you should even consider things like this. If your opponent knows your bread and butter or you generally stick to a few options in certain conditions, they'll quickly begin to adapt. If you throw in something like this though, the fast paced nature of the game will make it so that for a moment you more or less break their brain. Imagine you're anticipating a follow up combo or something and you're in a stunned state, you're probably going to attempt one of two things: 1. Super counter spam/timing 2. Vanishing if the follow up is a heavy/charged attack/blast If your opponent does this instead, you no longer have the luxury of anticipating the timing because they might only be doing this once or twice in a match. So maybe you think oh, he's going away, I'm going to do *whatever*. Then they come back and follow up. It's that moment of redirecting the opponents thoughts to open yourself up to a bigger window of opportunity that lets you get an extra chunk of damage or better yet, what allows you to combo into a blast/rush/ultimate. I wrote this because I've seen the same sentiment on every single video about complicated tech. The point is not to use it all the time, but rather to expand your options for approach and making the enemy guess your timing. If they know youre going to try and follow up the same way every time, they'll learn, adapt, and counter. If you have a couple of wild cards in addition to your typical options, you'll throw them off. I hope everyone continues to find tech and share it with others because that's how the game evolve. Good showcase for alternate options!
Excuse my english. I cant seem to find this info in any super counter videos on youtube. Simple question: what's the timming compared to vanishes? To vanish is pretty easy, the timming is already mastered, so it could be a good starting point / reference from which to learn super counter timming. Im guessing you have to press up and sqaure not so soon as you would do witha vanish? How many frames, miloseconds or whatever?
Your English is perfect dw 👍. I think the timing for vanishes is around 4-5 frames which makes it easy to do, Super Counters is 2 frames. So you have to input it a lot faster than vanishing but you also have to do it right as the enemy hits you. I put a slow mo of it towards the start of the video of the exact frame and it’s basically as the punch connects. If you try this in training mode you’ll quickly understand, it’s better than just reading.
The fact that you can't vanish cycle and then super counter in the same counter ruins it. I get infinite backshot combo'd then i super counter, then they vanish then I vanish then they vanish and then I try a super counter to stop the endless cycle but it never works. I may stop playing this game honestly. Vanish cycles are boring
I believe you can super counter those vanish cycles, it just boils down to timing
Yeah I completely get you man, the never ending vanish wars get tiring really quickly because it doesn’t even take much skill to do. The only way to stop the vanish wars is if you Super Counter their first vanish, then you keep Super Countering until they have less Ki than you and then you can switch to Vanish to guarantee win. Obviously this is really hard to do though so sometimes it’s not even worth going for. It’s the fact that there’s a lot of issues in this game that weren’t in Tenkaichi 3 which really disappoints me. Visually it’s amazing though
Yeah but it’s a lot easier said than done unfortunately. You need really good timing to keep Super Countering every vanish in a row, the frames are way more precise so you can easily mess up so people tend to vanish instead as it’s way easier.
@@VuceFinity yea definitely. I can’t do the timing consistently for sure. There’s this one UA-camr named Tymier that I’ve seen win a vanish war by doing all super counters, but he’s a Z rank player and I’m sure he’s been grinding for many hours perfecting the timing
@@VuceFinity Could you explain what other issues this game has compared to tenkaichi 3? I'm curious as a more casual player of both
Do u play with d-pad?
I use analog for movement but I use DPad only for Super Counters because it’s more precise (Classic only has this)
@ ohhh thanks man I was trying this n was wondering if it’s my binds (I play standard) would u recommend a switch from standard to classic?
No worries. I actually wouldn’t recommend switching from Standard to Classic, the game has made key mechanics in the game way easier with Standard like Perception or Dragon Ascend. I have to hold Circle and Triangle for Perception but for you it’s just Circle, I have to double click R1 to Dragon Ascend but I think for you it’s R1 + L2 (or some other trigger). I’m only playing Classic because I used to play Tenkaichi 3 on an emulator so I’m used to it. The only advantage I’d say that I have is slightly more precise Super Counters and I prefer Circle to block and vanish because it feels more responsive to me than R1.
@ alri thanks for the insight definitely leaving a sub. Nice to see creators engaging with viewers🫶🏾
How to vanish while flying back after a kick?
You can’t vanish after they kick you and you’re flying back, but you can recover mid air. I think it’s holding Circle with Left Stick Up or Down, I can’t remember fully but it was in the training mode.
Got My Full Support I Only Watched A Few Minutes Of The Video, But Do A Video Explaining The Timing & When To Super Counter Against Vanishing Wars With The Slow Motion. It’s Hard To See The Flashing Light Or I Hear Some UA-camr Say Look At Your Character Models Body You’ll See Your Opponents Fist/Foot Go Through Them. It’s So Frustrating But I Ain’t No Quitter And Continue Figuring Out The Timing For It
I Also Wanna Add That I Get Super Counters & Have Been Practicing It A lot Everyday But For Me It’s More A Feeling Rather Then Actually Seeing What You Guys See Which I’m Working To Get On That Level Before Starting Z Rank Battles
Thanks for supporting this vid too! It’ll be tough getting clips for this in vanish wars because usually the CPU never goes for Super Counters in training or the people in online always go for vanish instead, but I’ll try my best. Don’t quit, practice here is everything 🔥
Yeah this is actually normal, for me it’s more like instinct or reflex now rather than visual inputs. You start off with visual and slowly you’ll become better naturally. Also I heard that Z Rank battles are quite toxic with the Sparking Mode spam and annoying strategies, is S rank similar?
@@VuceFinity No Thank You Bro. I’ve Been Playing DBZ Games Since A Kid From BT1-3 Then Raging Blast 1-2 When Sparking Zero Came Out I Had To Get It Though I’ve Been Rusty The Lab Plus You Helped Me Improve My Skills So Thank You & Continue Being You Your Channel Will Grow & I’m Looking Forward To Being Apart Of It
@@VuceFinity I Haven’t Touched Online Yet At All Because I Always Looking To Improve My Skills And Getting Better So Once I Am I’ll Be Ready To Give All The Spammers/Good Players/ Etc A Good Fight As I Make My Way To Number 1
This is an edited down version of a previous upload with some errors fixed. I appreciate the support on the last video and if you have any questions or request, feel free to comment them below!
standard or classic controller???
yeah this is cool but how do you actually vanish
R u on Classic or Standard?
I’m playing on Classic but the input timing is the exact same, just follow along with R1 instead
I seen someone in the comment with the same thought I have on my mind. The issue is happening offline as well, I be beating the h*** out of CPU on the hardest level setting, my point is that I can vanish them like it's nothing. But when I face someone offline, the vanish doesn't register like it normally does. Which is weird. I also seen alot of complaints saying that the buttons don't be registering. And I feel that way as well, I press a certain button or even do specials and nothing happens sometimes. That's crazy
Are you playing on wired or wireless, it could be input delay. Other people have switched it to and they said it feels way more responsive. For a Bandai game the netcode is pretty good and I haven’t faced any issues. If you keep having register issues you might wanna just learn to adjust it to and time your vanishes earlier than offline. It’ll feel weird at first but you’ll quickly get used to it.
Sry why do we need to dash on the side before dargondash to enemy's back?
Instead of just wait 1 sec and then dargondash? Really appreciate if someone could help!
You can also wait a bit and then Dragon Dash but I found it more consistent with the timing to Dragon Dash to the right then upwards. Sometimes I might not wait long enough then it messes the whole movement up.
I don’t get it I feel like the timing is different on online
It might be due to some input delay, do you use wired or wireless connection? I heard from some people the game felt way more responsive when they switched to wired
@ I use wireless
If you can try to somehow get wired connection then it’s gonna improve your game for sure. Are you on PS5?
Meanwhile versus the Story mode AI on Default: Good Luck
Lol dw the story mode has a lot of unrealistic buffs like crazy Super Armour to Raditz. The online gameplay will feel completely different
So is this that perception button ( O ) ? On the p5 . Just wanna be clear
Sorry I should’ve clarified at the start I’m using Classic Controls. My guard button is Circle but on Standard you click R1. The timing is the exact same though for vanishing just click R1 the same way.
Dude, your controllers d pad nor the stick are showing what you're trying to do... I can barely understand only by watching ⬛️ 🔺️ 🔵 ❌️ buttons 😢
Sorry I’m not sure what you mean. My controller is showing exactly what I’m doing and I’m explaining the steps using the menus too.
Thanks for the tutorial! *Question:* Beginner here. Why is timing important when Vanishing/Countering? Why not just spam the Guard or Revenge buttons when under attack?
Thanks for enjoying it 🔥. Good question, it comes down to a cool down. In Tenkaichi 3 if you just spammed your vanish button trying to vanish it wouldn’t work because there’s a cool-down if you time it wrong, I think the same is in Sparking Zero but the cool down is lower. If you try spamming vanish then it won’t work in game, you gotta wait for the cool down to reset then do it. Revenge Counter works at any time but it costs Skill Stock so it’s not the best option, vanishing 1 hit is free (costs no Ki)
Yeah thats how they get you, they will spam you until you run out then blast you
I just realized I probably don't have the reflex and game sense to reach the top level for this game. How tf are people this good when the game is a month old??
It comes down to people playing a lot of competitive Tenkaichi 3 too as the mechanics transfer over. With that being said Sparking Zero has definitely been made a lot easier than Tenkaichi 3, if you just grind ranked you can definitely reach the top just by learning through playing.
What about a blast attack. I don’t think you explained that.
Yeah Supers and Ultimates are vanishable but it’s a bit more in depth and works differently so I’m going to make a separate guide in the future for this, stay tuned! 🔥
🎉
Thank you, I hope you enjoyed! 🔥
If url really want to improve in sparking here's 2 training dummies for url 2-947-784-125 (beat this and you can beat any afterimage strike characters) 2-980-491-435 (beat this along with the 1st one and you can beat anyone)
If I hold it instead of press would it still vanish if the timing is right? Or just try to block
Good question. I think even if you hold it a few frames before you’re supposed to click it, it’ll work. Even for regular vanishing though I always click and hold circle for a bit then carry on with attacks. Play around in training mode and you’ll see the rhythm for it
@@VuceFinity nice to know thanks!!
