- Dragon Ball Sparking Zero : Release Date has been officially announced in a trailer for October 11th at Summer Games Fest. We saw the most insane characters like Ultra Instinct Goku, Golden Frieza and Full Power Jiren, but there was also a lot of new hidden mechanics and features, revealed outside of the trailer

I hate that we live in a world where games will be so expensive and then have even more limited characters on top of a standard 60 dollars. I'm just buying standard and playing with what I get after the story grind.

Yeah I completely get you man. The business model for games has completely changed now since the old gaming days, it’s simply more profitable for them to release DLC packs than a whole new game.
60 dollars just for the standard game itself is sadly going to be the on the cheaper sides.
I think GTA 6 and Black Ops 6 are going to be more expensive.
I guess if you want a certain DLC character, you can always buy the pack later on.

nope, and let me explain why... we've gotten GT in games before. Hell, the 1st DB game ever released in america was Dragon ball GT: final bout, but.. we've never had a TRUE adaptation for super in video games. That is why GT will NOT make it into base game because they already covered GT before.. its nothing new to games, super IS new, at least from the start of Super all the way to the end. This game will focus on super first, THEN GT and OG DB.

The premium collector's edition screen (no early access) is a typo. If you check the bandai store selection screen, you can see that it has the tag "3 days early!"

For me on the Bandai Store Site, I selected Steam, Premium Collectors Edition then when I scroll down there’s a section called “Edition Content”
Underneath that it directly states:

Then when I click on detailed content, there’s no mention of Early Access too.
But when I switch to Ultimate or Deluxe edition, there’s a check mark of 3 days early access and it appears in detailed content.
Could you tell me the exact Bandai store site you’re using, I think there may be 2 different Bandai sites for some reason.

Really hope they add as much as they can to the base roster and more DLC add extended universe characters. 21 is almost guaranteed as she's in everything Dragon Ball related since her release. But others like the Time Breakers, Chronoa, the Xeno forms, and my boy Cumber would be awesome to see in this game.
Yeah I think they’re going to have a complete base roster and any genuinely “extra” characters will be DLC. I can deffo see 21 be in the game, would be cool to include those characters too!

They can add new maps like the top because its just a black backround on a platform and i see splitscreen with all maps being a big selling point for the next gen consoles
Yeah I can totally see them adding more maps with split screen in the future. The devs seem to value feedback from fans a lot, they’ve brushed up on a lot of character models since the old trailers.
Hopefully they try to take our input on having a proper split screen experience, it’s definitely a key part of the Tenkaichi experience that people want to relive.

My hope even though I know its not happening is the mystery character pre-order being Beelzebub and announcing it not too far from release in a trailer that maybe links him up with Arale and kinda elaborates on the story possibilities and crazy stuff you can do, both characters also just really need to be in the base game imo due to their importance to Toriyama so I'm definitely biased

Arale definitely isn’t the mystery because they said it’s an exclusive never seen before character in Tenkaichi, and she’s been in previous games. Maybe she’s in the base then?
Hopefully they do show more appreciation to Toriyama in the game when it fully launches, stuff like Toribot appearances would be really cool.

Tenkaichi 3 also didn't have everything unlocked. Some character you could only unlock from the story mode and others by using the Dragon Balls. Personally I'm super happy with this, I want to feel the excitement when I unlock a certain character.
Yeah I meant it compared to Tenkaichi 2. In Tenkaichi 3 you still have so many characters unlocked at the start of the game without doing anything, with of course a few that you still need to grind for.
I fully agree, it’s so much more fun and exciting when you grind and unlock a character for the first time, then use them and destroy people yourself. Gives me that Smash Bros vibes

I got premium collectors edition and it does give you early access because if you look at its content it says it includes ultimate edition content and ultimate edition has 3 days

You’re right it does contain the Ultimate Edition content, but unfortunately it looks like it’s just the content and not the Early Access.
I’ve seen on the English Site, the Bandai store site and the Japanese site that it has all the bonuses but not the Early Access. I think it’s because the digital copies will be sent 3 days earlier for you to play, but the Collectors one with the figurines and steel book will take extra time to ship and deliver.
Maybe if there’s some delivery details closer to launch, you can check then to see if you get everything 3 days earlier?
04:36 and Vegeta , who knows maybe that final mystery character is Vegeta in his current strongest form (Manga only). It would be a beautiful surprise to get those two Manga only characters at some point (would be awesome to have story arcs to since those would likely be the closest they ever get to being animated :( )
Unfortunately there’s pretty much a 0% chance that happens, they don’t have the licensing rights with the DBS Manga publishers, to do so.
@@VuceFinity ah , so it is mostly to do with tv /movie rights for the games? damn that really sucks. Having the moro and granolah arcs in one of these DB games would have been so awesome. Both turned out to be such great characters :(
Yeah but it’s more about the manga rights. The anime producers Toei are actually quite lenient with their content being used in Dragon Ball Games but the manga producers are definitely not.
There might be a chance they’re included in some mods though in the future, or someone might even cook something up in the Custom Battle Mode if we are given a lot of options!
You do get early access with the collectors edition, the box comes with an ultimate edition upgrade for the base game, which gives you all the perks that buying the ultimate edition would. So dont be dismayed if you are trying to get the collectors.
At least for the Steam version, it specifically says that you don't get the 3 days early access to the game itself since you get the code on a physical card in the box, so you have to wait for it to be shipped to you. But you do still get all of the dlc early just like the ultimate edition of the game

On the English website they have a graphic that has no mention of the Early Access on the Premium Collectors Edition.
On the Japanese site, their graphic and description only includes details like the figurine, steel book and the digital bonuses like Season Pass, Goku Costume etc..
On the Bandai store page, their comparison table between different editions has no tick on the 3 Day Early Access.
I think the case is that because the Collectors Edition has physical stuff, they’re not going to ship it 3 days early, but digital Ultimate/Deluxe get the code early.
It really sucks that they’re doing this but maybe there’s some changes/clarification closer to launch.

Hmmm, I get where you’re coming from but you have to consider it from the business side too.
They know Beast Gohan is way more popular than Trunks (Rage), more people would buy the game if they saw him on the cover.
But because he’s not, he likely isn’t in the base and they can’t advertise like that.
It’s even more likely because Super Hero has been confirmed as DLC too, those wouldn’t sell aswell if they didn’t have Beast Gohan in it.
I really hope GT and OG DB are in the base roster. I’d say GT has a bigger chance, because they’ve been in the base roster for earlier BT games, and have usually been highlights. They’re also in XV2’s base roster. Though it is possible they want to prioritize Super, it just makes sense to add GT. Especially games like Legends and Dokkan, they’ve maintained both OG DB and GT characters relevant. It just wouldn’t make sense to leave them out. And it’d be annoying, because I know I’d have to buy DLC. Also, getting Daima “Mini” Goku before GT Goku or actual Kid Goku would be crazyyy.
OG Dragkn Ball is in the base roster for previous games too. Kid Goku, Roshi and General Tao appear even in the very first game
I agree man, those two have been such staple characters in the Tenkaichi series, wouldn’t feel like Tenkaichi without them.

I haven’t played those other games, but it’s nice to hear they’re keeping other series relevant.
Unfortunately if they do make them DLC, they know that it’d sell like hot cakes and can make a lot of money from fans.
I feel like Daima is a special case because it’s more about the anime and the game cross promoting it each other rather than the actual character itself.
Yeah, that’s what makes those older games so special. They managed to make all types of characters fun to use and compete with, even if it’s against someone like SSJ3 Goku.
I hope they include them in SZ and keep the Tenkaichi essence the same.

@@VuceFinity he’s from a gotcha dbz mobile game that’s actually really good but he was actually drawn and created by the man himself akiri toryama about 6 years ago, he’s an “ancient” sayain but some how comes to the present of dragon ball because someone is messing with time and making a tournament out the cell games but it’s like a battle royal with every character from every saga. He can learn anyone’s moves and he’s went through all of the sayain transformations and he still has his tail so imo he’s just a really cool character and I would love to put him in the game.

I continue to love your videos. You and Kadazee are literally the first two I look for every time. I'm glad you clarified on Super Shénlóng, because at first I 100% thought they were going to lock him behind the pre-order.
I wouldn't get too excited over costumes and abilities changing just yet. Sparking has never had a customisation feature that adjusts moves, and it almost makes the variant system pointless if they do put it in. But not only that, we know the Gokū skin is described as "special" - this, to me, implies some measure of uniqueness to it. Like, it changes the moves as it is a paid DLC. And Gokū's Super Kamehameha need not even be an ultimate; Namek is always dark when its destroyed. Though I'd say it's a bit too cinematic, so is Vegeta's Garlic Cannon. Alternatively, it could actually be editing; the cinematic is from a cutscene, and the Kamehameha that follows is his normal one. I'm basically heavily tempering my expectations since I don't wanna run wild and overexcite myself.
I'm definitely still holding out hope for OG DB. I like that you keep up with things, mentioning Sonny Strait. I pre-ordered the Deluxe myself. I'm hardly a rich girl, and $99 is enough to spend when I don't care for the costume in the Ultimate. Keep it up!
Gonna add to this: I cracked open Meteor earlier and some cinematic supers do darken the screen like an Ult does. Not sure if Zero lines up the same way, but yeah.

Yeah they’d never lock features like Super Shenron behind a pay wall, I’m sure you could summon him within a hour or so of grinding for the Super Dragon Balls.
Yeah the costumes and changing abilities was more of a potential thing I found from the trailer, could definitely be a new feature to the Tenkaichi series though.

Yeah those Supers/Ultimates could definitely just be trailer cinematics too, just a pattern I picked up on. I guess for future trailers I’ll see if these kind of patterns extend with more evidence or not.
I totally get tempering expectations like that, it’s just nice for me to find some potentially new things rather than just focusing on returning mechanics/features. From what I’ve seen though, this game should be absolute peak gaming again.
Yeah I’m also hoping for some OG DB characters too, I think it’s important to reference old clues/leaks too. I saw Sean Schemmel (Goku VA) also saying that he’s had to voice record around 80 ish hours for the story mode too, that’s an insane amount so hopefully the story mode is quite large and complex, especially with What-Ifs.

That’s good to see the darkening feature was in Meteor too, maybe they may include it fully for Sparking Zero. We’ll find out in more trailers, only 4 months left to go now!
@@VuceFinity No worries~ After all, as I say, your videos are among the first two I look for every time. And LOL yeah, I felt like an adjustment. Sadly, the image is AI, but I didn't generate it, it just has a character I like (she's from BLEACH).
I figured they wouldn't, but the era of modern gaming is so sad and greedy you can never be sure how they'll handle even unlocks anymore. But, to use the common phrase, we are so fucking back.
As much as I would like being able to change abilities, I don't want them locked to costumes. Like, if I'm using early Gokū, I don't want the Meteor Combination locked to the gi without undergarments and boots that fights Raditz, and then the Kaiōken Combination locked to the one that is fully dressed. That'd be a bit sad. If there's going to move combination, I hope it is fully adjustable - but then, I'd wonder why there's even a variant system. I'd assume for character interaction - Gokū (Early) wouldn't recognise Beerus, but Beerus could have unique dialogue with that Gokū that he doesn't share with Super or End.
Yeah, I fully expect the skin to be the only one that adjusts moves, and only 'cos it is a paid bonus - a little "something something" for those with the extra funds, I suppose.
Nah, that's fair. You represent the facts better than most people - even assuming a customisation system was done as an assumption, as opposed to stating it as fact. But yeah, this game will make every other DB game - IMO anyway - obsolete. I know people will say there'll always be a need for XV2 or FighterZ for competitive play and CaCs but it's like...I write fanfiction myself, and the stories I make are more fun and interesting than anything XV2 threw us into, even with my insane ideas. As for competitive play...yeah, I can't say I need sweats to back me into a corner with Android 17 and beat the shite out of me in a game without a proper combo breaker.
Yeah, Schemmel has done a lot of voice work. If I had to pick any OG characters I want base game...honestly as many as I can get, but the MUST haves for me are Kid Gokū. Piccolo Daimaō, Gohan Snr, Akkuman (he's too unique), Kid Kuririn, and Tambourine. Others, like Nam, Ranfan, and Giran, I want, but those would be icing on top of a great fucking cake.
Yeah, the Deluxe has everything I need without anything else. I don't play the TCG, I only collect cute or fanservice figures, so I don't really need Gokū vs Broly (I mean, I have some regular DB figures too but I don't need this one LOL) and while I do read, unlike a lot of DB fans, I don't need that bookmark either.

I think this is a pretty reasonable prediction list and the only thing im not confident on are all the great apes, but I feel like they'll make it into the game since why only give Vegeta his? Clearly im missing a couple characters but id say its a safe bet to say NO GT OR OG DB IN THE BASE GAME. Also they have already CONFIRMED that super hero will be dlc so NO BEAST GOHAN or ORANGE PICCOLO.

Namek - I don’t think Captain Ginyu had a Goku form in previous Tenkaichi games?

Buu Saga - Babidis underlings might be left out and Great Saiyaman might be a costume
For U6, Robot Bitch is Magetta 😂, but you’re forgetting about Botama the big bear, Champa and Jaco probs not in - look at Xenoverse 1 and 2 DLC
For T.O.P, Rozie to complete the U2 trio, U6 Namekians probably not in
You should definitely consider making your own hexagon roster screen with your predictions, and then compare and update it for future trailers to see how close you were.
@VuceFinity Yeah, I'm not sure entirely on the Great Apes, but I feel like them showcasing Great Ape Vegeta was also a way for them to go. "Look, we have giant characters too." Would be kind of underwhelming to only have his and skip out on the others, especially since they were in older BT games.
Definitely confused Bergamo with Botamo, or however you spell that Bear's name.
I don't remember if Ginyu had a Goku body in other games. He might just have the body transfer mechanic, but Xenoverse had a Ginyu (Goku)
We'll also probably get Nail over the Frieza soldiers, however I'm confident we will get Mecha Frieza, since without Mecha Frieza having Trunks with his sword wouldn't make the most sense since that was when he was introduced, but King Cold is whatever if we don't.
As for Babidi minions, I feel like we will at least see Dabura since he was in BT2 and BT3, and while Spopavich and Yamu aren't that popular I feel like including at least Spopavich would make sense since he fights Videl, so that could end up being a fight in the story mode.
Also, apparently, there's an exclusive pre-order character, I'm not sure if that includes the 163 base characters or not, but if it's a whole other slot entirely, I expect it to be Android 21.
Daima should drop around the same time as the game but I feel like if they were going to add a Daima character it would be with the DLC, and there really isn't anything they could add from FighterZ other than 21.
If I'm wrong about the great apes then maybe they'll use those slots for characters like Janemba and Z Broly. Or they'll use them for more DBS characters.
I get what you mean with the Great Apes, just having one would be kind of a shame for sure. I think for the Tenkaichi 3 meta, Golden Great Ape (Baby Vegeta) was actually quite high up there too, they might do some fun things with other potential giants like Bergamo and Agnilaza.
Oh I didn’t know Xenoverse had a separate Ginyu form, I checked and I don’t think the Tenkaichi games had him though.
Yeah Frieza Soldiers would seem a bit meh to include, Nail would be cool in the base. You’re right that Mecha Frieza is needed to reference Trunks Sword like that, he’ll probably get included.
Oh I wasn’t referring to Dabura as his minion, even though technically he was in the actual story, I fully hope and expect Dabura to be added as he’s pretty unique.
The Spopavich link makes sense but I have a feeling they might skip on that scene and just show Videl training with Gohan and Goten.

Your Daima idea makes sense but they actually added Goku Black as the pre order bonus while the Future Trunks DBS arc was airing, also Boruto and Sarada were added as pre order bonuses for Storm 4 but they also got added to the DLC pack later.
They might end up doing the same thing with a Daima character.

So right now it’s looking like split screen will be only on the Hyperbolic Time Chamber map, on every platform including Steam, PS and Xbox.
They can definitely add more maps with split screen by launch though, the devs do listen to fan feedback.
These characters are nice and all. But i hope they go into manga characters for the game. Give us EVERYTHING.
Unfortunately they can’t add manga characters to the game because they don’t have the licensing.
The only way is if the Dragon Ball Super anime returns, which is unlikely any time soon because of Daima airing.

You're prob. thinking dlc 1 is super hero and 2 is daima with the 3rd DLC being unknown, but in reality it just means in all 3 dlcs there will be only characters from Super Hero and Daima however they feel like distributing them. Personally I think both Dlcs 2 and 3 will be purely Daima

There’s legit 20+ characters bruh, and if it was gt or movies they wouldn’t hide it, if they don’t have an issue revealing daima is in the dlc they would 100% wouldn’t be scared to show GT being in the first dlc pack since Daima is more secretive rn. Unfortunately this isn’t the first case that the Xbox Series S has had hardware limitations.
Baldurs Gate 3 had to launch without split screen on the Series S as it just couldn’t support it at all.
At least the devs managed to still get splitscreen in the game, I’m hopeful they can manage to get it out on a few more maps by the full release 🤞

A lot of the official sites I’ve seen don’t have it mentioned. I think it might be an issue where for physical editions like the Collectors Edition, they won’t ship it out until the 11th so you don’t actually get the 3 days of early access.
But I could also be wrong too, hopefully you get the game early 🤞

It’s a strong rumour that the Series S couldn’t support split screen. This also isn’t the first case where it’s happened, Baldurs Gate 3 had to launch without splitscreen on the Series S too.

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and has obviously had some major upgrades in graphics and overall motion.
Unfortunately the Series S probably can’t keep a smooth frame rate on all maps, but I’m still grateful there’s still split screen in the game.
There’s still a chance they can manage to add more maps by the final release though 🤞
Yeah I read up on the Baldur’s Gate 3 case too. It launched without split screen on the Series S I think, but I heard that split screen even on the PS5 is quite rough with frequent frame drops.

To be fair, it’s not been directly confirmed that it’s because of Xbox Series S. GTA 6 will release on the Series S too, which will be much more intensive than Sparking Zero. They’ve got to cater for all fans and console owners.
Yeah I get your reasoning but at least the game isn’t coming out on the Nintendo Switch, it’d definitely get fried lol.
It might end up getting ported for the Nintendo Switch 2, which looks like it’s coming out March 2025 ish.
Hopefully they end up putting split screen on more maps before the final launch, the devs are definitely listening to feedback!
