Finally an in depth video talking about timing, with notations on screen! Instead of everyone just explaining what a vanish is like the tutorial already does
Thank you so much, I really appreciate you liking the effort in the vids! There’s not much point just recapping what the tutorial says, I always add extra stuff that the tutorial doesn’t show (there’s quite a lot of important things that I’m going to cover).
It’s getting really annoying tbh, it’s just about who has the most Ki winning. In Tenkaichi 3 this was really rare because it’d use a lot more Ki and there was also a mechanic where if you have lower health, you have less frames to vanish. It seems like in this game your health doesn’t matter leading to these infinite chains, hopefully the devs can sort something out in a patch.
Could you clarify, you mean you only vanish at the last second? I don’t think it makes a difference because once they see your vanish animation it’s easy to counter vanish into a chain.
I can vanish the CPU’s attacks everytime but when I get online it’s difficult to vanish any of my opponents attacks and I don’t know why that is,thank you for posting this man you’re a real one for it.
You both probably need to vanish either a little or a lot earlier because online has lag/delays with no rollback. It's the mist variable based on internet stability and even region, so don't feel too bummed out and try using different methods and figure out how to safely hit your opponents instead. Online vs Offline may as well be different games.
Do you play on wireless connection? I have heard of similar problems before and when someone switched to Ethernet he said the game felt way better because of less input delay. If possible you can try to play with a friend that you know has good WiFi and see if you can vanish there. Otherwise you need to adjust your vanish timing online because of the input delay.
You on wireless or Ethernet? If you got connection problems you’ll have input delay and you have to adjust your vanish timing by clicking earlier. Try this out and you’ll quickly get used to it with muscle memory. I’ve played online with 100+ ping American players and got used to that, so it feels like my connection is buttery smooth now.
Yep exactly bro, you have to account for the slightly input delay, especially if you’re not playing on Ethernet. I’ve seen people gone from hating the game and complaining then switching to wired and loving the online gameplay. Even without rollback tbh (which is apparently extremely hard and doesn’t work that well for arena fighters), the online net code for me so far has been amazing with hardly any lag or delay. Vanishing has been pretty easy but I’m also an experienced player so that plays a part for sure.
It should cost 1 bar like BT3. I also have mixed feelings about always needing more Ki than the opponent just to win. In BT3 if you run out of Ki, you can still vanish but don't get the follow up attack so you can string more rush attack combos. This change will take some getting used to
Initially I thought the half Ki bar change would be a good thing but I quickly regretted that now as they changed the vanish mechanics so much (health doesn’t impact it anymore). Yeah needing more Ki just to win is really annoying too. When you ran out of Ki in BT3 and got the vanish it actually rewarded you lol, it makes sense to make the person with the most Ki technically win the whole vanish but they should’ve kept the vanish difficulty the same. That way the vanish wars would be minimal and actually skill based.
@VuceFinity I just played the game for the first time yesterday and noticed that vanish wars does the same damage no matter how many times you vanish. I remember in BT3 the damage would be higher if you both vanished a lot. I can't complain here tho cuz the games feel so fast already, granted I was getting my feet wet with singles. I do feel like this game is overall better than BT3, but it really just needs 2 or 3 tweaks to be true peak and satisfy everyone who's trying to be reasonably competitive
Oh so it scaled the damage with each vanish, that’s pretty cool. The rhythm of vanishing also changed as it got faster too so it’s not predictable and repetitive. I think BT3 is definitely better overall for gameplay but SZ can become a good game if they adjust a few things like Blast Stock Regen, Sparking Mode etc… It’ll take time to develop strategies and new attack options so I’m sure the game can become competitive in the future.
I seen someone in the comment with the same thought I have on my mind. The issue is happening offline as well, I be beating the h*** out of CPU on the hardest level setting, my point is that I can vanish them like it's nothing. But when I face someone offline, the vanish doesn't register like it normally does. Which is weird. I also seen alot of complaints saying that the buttons don't be registering. And I feel that way as well, I press a certain button or even do specials and nothing happens sometimes. That's crazy
Are you playing on wired or wireless, it could be input delay. Other people have switched it to and they said it feels way more responsive. For a Bandai game the netcode is pretty good and I haven’t faced any issues. If you keep having register issues you might wanna just learn to adjust it to and time your vanishes earlier than offline. It’ll feel weird at first but you’ll quickly get used to it.
Ayyy love to see the OGs out here showing love to the videos 🔥. Yeah there was only so much I could do in terms of analysis with just trailers before, now I can really dive into mechanics and tips for the game to help people out! I’ve got a lot of ideas it just takes time to make the videos but the grind will continue 🫡
Haha I hope my guides are of use to you. Tbh I think they’ve implemented too many defensive mechanics in this game, it’s a lot harder to have longer and unique attack options. It seems like a lot at first but you can get the hang of things quite quickly, e.g. Perception is just holding a button and waiting for them to hit you to immediately counter.
I mention in the video several times to click your guard input, but I should’ve pointed out that it’s R1 on standard, apologises if that caused any confusion.
In Tenkaichi 3 if you ran out of Ki you would actually teleport behind them and the game would sorta stop for a moment and then resumes, there was no infinite chains basically. I’m not sure why they removed it :/
This was super useful - for some reason I'm struggling to vanish like I did in previous Budokais. So - to vanish, it's always "just" timing of using guard? And do you use any directional buttons or is it literally just "guard"? Lastly - does it consume Ki or any other gauge - it didn't seem to! Thanks!
Thank you for the comment, I’m glad you find it so useful! Just to clarify, you mean previous Budokai Tenkaichis and not Budokais right, they’re pretty different games? Yes it’s strictly the timing of clicking your guard button, but it only works on vanishable attacks that I showed here. You can use directional buttons with the guard button too, I’d actually recommend doing that. If you hold forwards and guard then you will vanish behind your opponent then you can start combos on the back, which are better as the opponent has less defensive options. The first vanish you do for any hit does not require Ki, it’s basically a free vanish. However if you get into consecutive vanishes aka a vanish chain, it consumes Ki, about half a bar which is half the size of BT3 vanishes so they’re much longer! Hope that helps
This is a great video and all so it must be cause there is no reason that I have been trying to to figure out the timing for z vanish online since Saturday and then super counter is just annoying when your opponent can consistently do it but you can’t
Thanks for liking the video. The tutorial is lacking in terms of in depth vanishing so hopefully this gives you a clear idea. Super Counter is a bit overpowered right now as there’s a low cool down, I’ll be making a guide to how to do these soon, stay tuned! 🔥
Thanks a lot, I’m glad it was useful. If you’re a newbie to Tenkaichi I’d recommend you to learn Standard Controls as it makes it easier to use the new OP mechanics like Perception. I’m using Classic as I’ve grinded Tenkaichi 3 before and I’m just comfortable with it.
@@VuceFinity Thank you for answering me, i used to play a lot of Tenkaichi 3 but on the Wii so it doesn't really count. Then i'll try Standard controls again even though appearently i'm doing better with Classic controls (the z counters and guard just feel much easier on Classic at least for me with the xbox controller)
I grinded the Wii version on PC (Dolphin Emulator) but it had a lot of mod fixes to make the game faster and more polished. Yeah honestly just use whatever is comfortable to you, it won’t make much of a difference in the long term. For me clicking Circle is more responsive than clicking R1 so it just works.
Thanks for the tutorial! *Question:* Beginner here. Why is timing important when Vanishing/Countering? Why not just spam the Guard or Revenge buttons when under attack?
Thanks for enjoying it 🔥. Good question, it comes down to a cool down. In Tenkaichi 3 if you just spammed your vanish button trying to vanish it wouldn’t work because there’s a cool-down if you time it wrong, I think the same is in Sparking Zero but the cool down is lower. If you try spamming vanish then it won’t work in game, you gotta wait for the cool down to reset then do it. Revenge Counter works at any time but it costs Skill Stock so it’s not the best option, vanishing 1 hit is free (costs no Ki)
Sorry I should’ve clarified at the start I’m using Classic Controls. My guard button is Circle but on Standard you click R1. The timing is the exact same though for vanishing just click R1 the same way.
Hi. Finally a vido actually eyplaining mechanics. Can you do a video on defending after the lift strike? The tutotrial does not say anything, the explanation of control mentions two move under the same command, B (classic, xbox). It used to be guard that countered rush but lost against heavy and down that was vice versa. How does it work here? I cant find a way to practice it (btw how did you set the AI to do only one type of attack?)
Thanks for the support. I believe defense after the lift strike is the exact same as Tenkaichi 3. If they do a Lift Strike into Rush Attacks (square melee hits), you can defend it by holding your guard button + Left Stick Forward (I’m pretty sure it’s forward and not down but I’ll double check this later). This’ll put you in your perception stance to counter instantly. This is for Classic controls btw. If you’re on standard then just clicking your guard button should work. If they do a heavy finish first and then combo, this usually wouldn’t work but I think Super Perception could actually work as it works against Rush Chains. I’ll try out these methods later and get back to you for 100%. I don’t actually play the AI here, I had a friend kindly join me to help record for the video.
Thanks for the reply man. In BT3 it was up+circle against rush, and down+circle against heavy or throw. A nice mixup option. SZ tutorial does not seem to explain this. In EoC it says midair perception after a lift stike is perception button, midair recovery is guard after a lift strike. (Althogh when you are on classic, for both it says B, EoC seem to be gltched with classic controls) So i dont know man. It does no even recognize it eith the name aerial combo like BT3 did. There is a lift strike trainig option, but the AI rarely actually do it and even more rarely jumps after you so I could not practice it.
Sorry what do you mean by EoC? Yeah they removed the namings for some of the follow up combos and I don’t think there’s even any follows you can do on Ground Slash anymore. Really weird decision imo. Yeah I thought the training mode options at first were really cool but a lot of the times it doesn’t function properly or glitches. Like the Counter mode doesn’t efficiently Super Counter to practice, even in BT3 there was a really good ZC practice with Super Buu, I’d spend time grinding that.
Game is fun but ranked is toxic af already soon as you get to.B tier Master roshi spams a beam attack thats unblockable not figuertaively but literally and theres yajirobe senzu span which is actually less annoying then master roshi some how these need to be fixed asap makes it almost unplayable
Damn the Master Roshi spam is more toxic than Yajirobe? From what I heard the Yajirobe Senzu Strat is extremely annoying because of how quickly it activates. I haven’t fully gone into ranked yet as I’m trying to make guides and find tech in training, once I play the scum I’m sure I can find some counters for you guys 😮💨
Those are the amount of health bars you have so if you have 3 you have 3 bars green yellow red you’ll see the stronger characters having more which is why their health bar is like a blue
Good spot, I was going to mention this in my next video but I’ll quickly say it here. Each small bar represents a health bar and the long one is also a health bar. Each health bar = 10K HP, so a Super that does 10k damage wipes one health bar. E.g. MUI Goku has 4 small green bars and one long one, that’s 5 bars = 50k HP total.
In Tenkaichi 3 it basically worked like this, it had health mechanics and different vanish rhythms so that it’s not repetitive at all. Hopefully they can address this in the upcoming patch
Okay how do you do the z counter where it happens quicker than the normal vanish?? I was in a vanish battle with someone and they did like a quicker version that took Ki or something.
I just realized I probably don't have the reflex and game sense to reach the top level for this game. How tf are people this good when the game is a month old??
It comes down to people playing a lot of competitive Tenkaichi 3 too as the mechanics transfer over. With that being said Sparking Zero has definitely been made a lot easier than Tenkaichi 3, if you just grind ranked you can definitely reach the top just by learning through playing.
When there is the vanish strike where you just keep following them around smacking them left to right it eventually finishes with you standing on them, crashing them into the ground. If you just smash the strike button enough times, then it does most of the combo. But it does not do the very end where you stand on them, crashing them into the ground. What is that last command to finish off that combo? Do you dash and punch (X and then square up close?)
Did you remap your guard button to circle from r1? Or does r1 guard differently than cuticle? Because on Xbox the stock block is RB but B also does a guard thing too. It's like an auto guard or something? The guard controls are kind of confusing lol
I am using classic controls which is circle to guard for me. The standard controls is R1/RB to guard. Your B button is the control for Perception which is another form of defense (auto counter). For me, Perception is Circle + Triangle but because you’re using standard it’s just B for you. I recommend you go into the training mode quickly for defense as it shows you the basic inputs, but I will be making guides covering the other defense mechanics in depth.
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
Yeah essentially if they don’t want this game to fall off they need to add vanish clash or adjust the timing for vanishes because right now its actually ridiculous 😂 either fights are boring af or just you getting vanish combo thrown around until you die its stupid
Yeah I agree, I hope they can patch the vanish timings or adjust it to Tenkaichi 3 mechanics. There was hardly any vanish chains on that game because the lower health you had, the fewer vanishing frames you had. It also consumed a lot more Ki so it didn’t run as long.
My whole strategy was run and gun then too lol. You actually had an advantage if you had less Ki in that game, the vanish chains just stopped and you resume. My only fear is that the majority of the player base think it looks cool so the devs won’t think of changing anything, when really it gets annoying for anyone that knows how the game works.
How do I counter someone how hit my block once and vanish behind me cause that’s the I be losing cause I can never block it or dodge it. I try to do the same but I rarely work for me.
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
I was fighting one dude .. and everytime we used to chain z counters he literally canceled his and started to combo me from behind??! So this is possible but how did he do it I dunno , and he didnt do it once but everytime instead of hitting me from behind he teleported and started to just rush attack me .
You can’t cancel a Z Counter chain once it’s started until someone mistimes it, then you get smashed away. Are you sure you’re referring to the vanish chains here? I think you might be referring to the offensive vanish. You can use rush attacks and then click your guard button and use your analog stick to vanish behind them mid combo, and carry on the attack.
Very good question, I’ve seen clips of this being done in offline mode (very hard timing). Apparently in online gameplay its basically impossible to do because of the slight input delay from connections, I’m going to have to try experimenting with this more to find out fully.
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve mentioned that I’m on Classic controls at the start. I forgot that Circle on Standard is actually Perception, but the timings for the inputs are all the same.
I mention in the video several times to click your guard input, but I should’ve pointed out that it’s R1 on standard, apologises if that caused any confusion.
It’s likely to do with your connection and input delay as I’ve heard from others they’re having the same issue. Once they switched to wired with better connection they could vanish, try that?
Good question. I think even if you hold it a few frames before you’re supposed to click it, it’ll work. Even for regular vanishing though I always click and hold circle for a bit then carry on with attacks. Play around in training mode and you’ll see the rhythm for it
I think it could be your connection then, are you playing wireless? I’ve heard of similar problems from other people and when they switched to wired with better connection they could vanish a lot more easily
@@VuceFinity I play on wired connection and I play nothing but players with 4-5 bars. They need a patch making the inputs more responsive. When I play split screen with my friends we can z vanish all day long. But Online it doesn’t come out , heck I’ve been playing all morning on Ranked and people are struggling to vanish a simple smash attack. I play on PlayStation 5
Damn you still got delay with wired and 5 bars? Hopefully the upcoming patch will improve responsiveness as they did say they’ll make the game more “operationally stable”. Offline will of course have less input delay than online so vanishing will be easier but for me I can still vanish most attacks online, maybe because I’m an experienced player though. You mean people you play against on ranked can’t vanish your simple smash attacks? I think it’s more the fact that people are just spamming Perception tbh rather than going for the vanish instead. PS5 should be fine but I did see earlier that some people couldn’t do things like Super Counters by holding Up and then clicking square, it might be a PC thing but I’m not 100% sure. The game is pretty much the same though across every platform.
This particular video I had a friend help out for the specific types of vanishable attacks. You can put the bot to settings like Rush Chains, Smash Attack and Follow Up Attacks to practice more general ones. If you scroll in the “Opponent Settings” in training mode it’ll say lots of options with descriptions to help.
Sorry I should’ve pointed this out, I’m on Classic so my guard button is Circle. Your guard button should be R1 so just click that with the exact same timings to vanish.
I think I’ve actually faced the same problem as you but I just brushed it aside. I’ll check later in training and get back to you once I have a proper answer
Hi, sorry if I'm wrong. You said press guard to vanish but guard is the bumper button (r1 on ps, rb on xbox)?? But you're pressing O button which is the counter button?? I really want to get better at this
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
It's R1 in Standard control scheme, O in Classic control scheme. The person in this video is using the Classic scheme, so it's O for them. In Standard controls, O does "Perception," which is a counter and works differently from the Vanishing technique.
@@SolidSL510 Yeah, with Classic, you must hold O + Triangle to do Perception. It's one of the reasons they changed the controls the way they did. If you're not accustomed to Classic controls already, I think it's better to go with Standard tbh.
@@Archon139 Well I am far from an expert, in fact I am pretty new to this series myself. We've already reached the limits of most of my knowledge lol. So take everything I say with a grain of salt. For solar flare specifically, I don't know if there's a way to dodge it, I think the point of it is that it can't be dodged? But for more normal projectile types, I think you do a dragon dash with left stick and X (or A on Xbox). And I think you can also counter them with Perception but it takes an action point? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I should’ve clarified I’m using Classic controls where my guard button is Circle. I mention to click your guard button in the video which is R1 on Standard (I’m assuming you play that). Circle on Standard controls is the button for Perception which is another defensive mechanic in the game.
Sorry I should’ve clarified in the video I’m using Classic controls. The idea is the same though, you click your guard button which is R1 on Standard at the same timings to vanish.
Sorry I should’ve specified, this is Classic controls but it works the same way. You click your guard button which is R1 on Standard at the exact same time to vanish
The game’s online servers are pretty good for a Bandai game, I know people that say it’s really smooth with wired connection. If you play on wireless you’ll have input delay which makes it harder to do it, if you can try to play wired then it’ll help.
Is this standard or classic? Guard for me is R1 on standard but pressing O is perception no? I’m kinda confused I haven’t touched a fighter in 20 years.
Sorry I should’ve clarified at the start I’m playing on Classic. I mention to click your guard button which is Circle for me, but you should click R1 to vanish (circle is perception for you) Glad to see you back in the fighting game space, the game right now needs to get some adjustments though but I believe it can be a good game with time.
You can’t vanish after they kick you and you’re flying back, but you can recover mid air. I think it’s holding Circle with Left Stick Up or Down, I can’t remember fully but it was in the training mode.
Sorry for the confusion, I’m using Classic but I should’ve clarified this at the start. It works the exact same way though, you click your guard button which is R1 on Standard to vanish and make sure you do it at the same time as the video.
Haha no worries man, at first vanishing is definitely hard, especially if you don’t know the timings and situations for it. Make sure you practise this in training mode and you’ll get it in no time! 😎
You mean a defensive skill like Explosive Wave or Android Barrier? I don’t think it’ll work because you have to be in neutral stance to activate this and when you’re in a vanish chain you’re not in neutral until you win the chain.
This games is awesome but I swear the shit I practice is not the same as in story fights. I can’t vanish with full key but the opponent with no fucking key can vanish? Is there a reason for this?
I haven’t actually played the story mode much so I can’t really comment on that. But you can actually vanish with no Ki. If your opponent attacks you with a vanishable attack, you can vanish it for “free” using no Ki one time as a defensive vanish. If this leads to a vanish chain then you’ll lose as this requires Ki. The story mode also does unrealistic buffs to the characters that last for really long times, online gameplay will be a lot different.
I recommend you going into the training mode and putting the CPU to smash attack mode, you will start to learn the timing for vanishing and then you can move onto more advanced attack vanishing.
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
Sorry I should’ve specified this, it’s actually Kiai Cannon. The game says Ki Blast Cannon Attack but this is actually a translation error, every previous Tenkaichi game said Kiai Cannon. The anime also refers it as Kiai Cannon so I use that instead.
You can’t vanish Flying Kick. It’s never been vanishable in any Tenkaichi game before, you must’ve mistook it for something else. Super Vegito also doesn’t have Flying Kick in his Rush Chains.
Hmm I’m still doubtful as even Tenkaichi 3 veterans have said Flying Kick, Kiai Cannon and Blaster Wave are unvanishable. Maybe you’re confusing them using Afterimage Strike when you used a Smash Attack.
I personally use Classic because I’m used to Tenkaichi 3 controls. If you’re a new player I’d recommend trying Standard though as I heard it’s better for new mechanics. I provide inputs for both controller styles in my videos, so you can still follow along.
Yes, I should’ve clarified at the start I’m using Classic so my guard input is Circle. On standard it’s R1 so it works the exact same way with the timings of the input
It might be due to some input delay, do you use wired or wireless connection? I heard from some people the game felt way more responsive when they switched to wired
What do you mean NPCs? If you mean the CPU then follow the timings in this video and practice it in training. You can set the CPU to use Vanishing moves so that its efficient
Nice a fellow classic user! Haha I haven’t actually played the story mode but don’t worry as the story mode has unrealistic buffs to the AI that wouldn’t be in actual matches. It’s more of a party mode kinda thing with the story.
Did he mean clicking them both at the same time? That’s a new move called Vanishing Assault which costs Ki and is used as an attack instead. The vanishing I’m talking about here is for defense and the first vanish doesn’t cost any Ki, so it’s really important to learn this.
Yeah don’t use square and X a lot. That uses up Ki and is better used for offense. Learn the defensive vanish which is R1 on Standard, if you watch my video again you can see all the timings to vanish attacks (except I click circle but that’s because I’m on Classic).
Yeah Supers and Ultimates are vanishable but it’s a bit more in depth and works differently so I’m going to make a separate guide in the future for this, stay tuned! 🔥
Lmaooo you must’ve been shocked when that happens haha. It’s like when Zamasu appears in the other timeline in the anime, the duo was too OP. I’m yet to play the story mode, I gotta try this out as I heard it’s kinda hard.
Haha in Tenkaichi 3 you actually had to consider more overall, the less health you had the less frames you have to vanish. They’ve made it easier in Sparking Zero
You mean with Keyboard and Mouse? The timing for vanishing is the exact same, just click your guard button on your keyboard. I’ve made a general guide for Sparking Zero too if you want to check that out.
U did super counter with dpad up and square, i thought it had to be done with analog stick, can I chsnge this? Because i feel like dpad is going to be alot more accurate to time than analoge stick
I play Classic Controls which allow me to use DPad for movement too. I can use both analog and Dpad for the Super Counter input. I’m not entirely sure if you can change these on standard because I think you use that for Switching? There are customisation options in the settings but when I looked it seemed fairly limited (I want to change Switch to L1 but it forces me to use L3). In my experience and from other peoples recommendations they advise to use the DPad too for precise movements like the Super Counter, so I use that. I’ll get back to you to see if you change the controls on Standard. Analog stick is definitely not bad btw, I’ve done plenty of Super Counters by accident with it 😂
@@VuceFinity Cool yea let me know, since ive looked in the settings and I cant find a way to use Dpad other than classic controls, I hate using the analog stick for accurate timing stuff
Yeah unfortunately I had a look and you can’t, this games remapping sucks. Even if I wanted this, it won’t let me change my transformation inputs to use DPad. Not sure why they don’t allow for simple accessibility features like this in such a big game, maybe there’s a slight chance they can add some features in a patch but I’m not hoping for much.
Tbh in this game I feel like it’s less punishing to use analog because it looks like in this game it’s 1-2 frames for Super Counter instead of 1. The cool-down is very low too so you don’t really get punished for spamming it, pretty much anyone can pull one off if they do it long enough in a combo.
That timing is WAAY too quick for me, I’ve already accepted that I’m not going to be any good at the game, ill just go online mash and spam sparking attacks, if i go up against a player that knows what he’s doing then I’ll just accept defeat and search for a different opponent that i can mash on. It’s also fun when you don’t know what you’re doing and just accept defeat beforehand that way you won’t be disappointed in the end👍 plus this game’s completely unbalanced anyway.
I completely see your viewpoint of the game. This game is definitely really fun if you use things like Supers and Ultimates, really great visually. It can be fun to just go on autopilot pretty much. I played Tenkaichi 3 initially with the same mindset of spamming moves then I saw the amazing competitive side with all the cool new tech, ever since then I’m trying to constantly improve, but not everyone is the same and I completely understand that.
@@VuceFinity yea I don’t see myself being completely competitive in this game like some people, I don’t think there is that much to do besides fight other people and I do think I’m going to hop on everyday. I’ll save the competitive side of me for UFC 5😁
Sorry I’m too used to the Tenkaichi 3 Terminology. It’s a Rush Chain technique that’s actually now called Ki Blast Cannon Attack, but that sounds lame so I’m gonna call it Kiai Cannon 😎
@@steezuschrist0999 i meant when the enemy goes behind you and spams square, not the z counter, like at the start of the video where you that you cant vanish from the fast attack
Ok this explains a lot, i fought my brother he kept doing this and kept sayings hes hitting the block button so i kept hitting RB and nothing happened, so makes a lot more sense i gotta hit B
Sorry for the confusion but your brother may be right. I should’ve clarified that I’m playing on Classic controls which uses Circle as Guard. You need to click RB too if you’re playing on Standard and use the exact same timings as this video. If you click B, that’s your perception button which is a completely different defensive mechanic to guarding and vanishing. I recommend you go in the training mode and practising vanishing against the CPU using the same timings and RB.
Damn you’re playing on keyboard? I respect the play style. The last time I played a fighting game on keyboard was a great flash game called Super Smash Flash 2. I’m not sure of anyone that plays Tenkaichi on KBM unfortunately.
All this comments is full of nunsense vanishing speech for real if you struggle on vanishing try to avoid vanishing fights and make him do the first vanishing
I played the entire story without knowing this
This game needs a vanish clash after about 5or six vanishes. getting into about 50 of these every game is getting stale.
I'm smart abt the way i vanish tho i only do it at the last vanish when they not waiting
@@diavoloxiv okay but if they do you're into another vanish spam.
Yeah regardless of your vanish timing, if they react then it’ll easily create another vanish chain.
this is the creator i'll sub to. first one to ACTUALLY have an overlay on the screen while explaining. thank you!
Agreed
Thank you so much man, this comment really means a lot to me! I hope you can follow along with the timings really clearly because of it 🔥
Thank you bro for the kind words
I can vanish the CPU’s attacks everytime but when I get online it’s difficult to vanish any of my opponents attacks and I don’t know why that is,thank you for posting this man you’re a real one for it.
Its same here I dont know what to do.. against the CPU im killing it but when im on ranked it just dont work exactly like the offline
Vanishing has been pretty easy but I’m also an experienced player so that plays a part for sure.
holy shit finally a good guide to this ive been struggling with vanishes for a while now this helps so much
Thank you so much bro, I’m really glad you’re finding it so useful! More guides and tips coming soon! 🔥
I think BT3 is definitely better overall for gameplay but SZ can become a good game if they adjust a few things like Blast Stock Regen, Sparking Mode etc…
It’ll take time to develop strategies and new attack options so I’m sure the game can become competitive in the future.
I am loving both the videos and the reception to them! I'm glad the game's release seems to have really brought your content out in force!
@@VuceFinity Hopefully, these videos can help me in the future. The defensive systems of this game are actually a fucking bitch to master.
“Regular attacks are not vanishable” I was tripping so hard thinking my timing was off lol thank uou
Haha no worries man, had to mention that just in case any new players were confused.
This is will classic controls tho btw guys in case anyone gets a bit confused
I mention in the video several times to click your guard input, but I should’ve pointed out that it’s R1 on standard, apologises if that caused any confusion.
Dude thank you I am new to the game and I was wondering why his is circle 😂
Sorry about that bro, will make it clear in the future!
Thank you!
There should be an option for the vanish exchange to teleport infront of the opponent to neutral instead of it being strictly who has more ki
In Tenkaichi 3 if you ran out of Ki you would actually teleport behind them and the game would sorta stop for a moment and then resumes, there was no infinite chains basically.
I’m not sure why they removed it :/
This straight up doesn't work for me online, offline i can vanish 99/100 but it never works online, ever
@@28hollowman28 because theres a input delay bug by a few seconds
@@28hollowman28yeah it’s a bug they revealed
Was this mentioned officially by Bandai/Spike?

Meanwhile versus the Story mode AI on Default: Good Luck
Lol dw the story mode has a lot of unrealistic buffs like crazy Super Armour to Raditz. The online gameplay will feel completely different
Thanks for this Vid mate, really Helpful :)
Definitely going to check out your channel !
@@VuceFinity well actually i think i figured out the online vanishing this morning
Nice bro, it will help you in your gameplay a lot!
Great video, it helped me a lot. Would you recommend standard or classic controls?
Amazing tips thank you!
Thank you so much for watching, more content coming soon! 🔥
Yeah thats how they get you, they will spam you until you run out then blast you
Are you using standard or classic controls
Looks like classic.
I’m using Classic but I mention in the video to click your guard input to vanish. This is R1 on Standard, the timings are the exact same
@@VuceFinity okay thank you
So is this that perception button ( O ) ? On the p5 . Just wanna be clear
This helps a lot!! Thanks bruh
Thank you so much for liking the video, it really means a lot that it’s useful to you guys! 🔥
What do the little green bar tabs
At the top of health mean ? I’m dying to know
Those are the amount of health bars you have so if you have 3 you have 3 bars green yellow red you’ll see the stronger characters having more which is why their health bar is like a blue
Yep that’s pretty much the gist of it.
They should speed up any vanish clash to the point where after 2 vanishes it should just keep speed up until someone messes up
In Tenkaichi 3 it basically worked like this, it had health mechanics and different vanish rhythms so that it’s not repetitive at all.
Hopefully they can address this in the upcoming patch
Okay how do you do the z counter where it happens quicker than the normal vanish?? I was in a vanish battle with someone and they did like a quicker version that took Ki or something.
Are you using classic controls?
So, for infinite vanish you block once theyre behind you, or before the attack connects from behind? I can only manage it sometimes
Thanks your video is great
Thank you so much man, I appreciate the kind words! 🔥
Is there a way to only practice vanishes in training? Including the infinite vanishes? Thanks
Press start and go to the training settings and go to the CPU section
B is perception, which is a counter
your probably using standard controls and not classic
im using classic and its o
I am using classic controls which is circle to guard for me. The standard controls is R1/RB to guard.
Your B button is the control for Perception which is another form of defense (auto counter). For me, Perception is Circle + Triangle but because you’re using standard it’s just B for you.
I recommend you go into the training mode quickly for defense as it shows you the basic inputs, but I will be making guides covering the other defense mechanics in depth.
It would help if you tell us which controls ur using
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
@@VuceFinity thanks bro
R u on Classic or Standard?
I’m playing on Classic but the input timing is the exact same, just follow along with R1 instead
Shit no wonder I couldn’t ever hit vanish had no idea you couldn’t do it on rush attacks
Yeah it’s a pretty simple thing but important to know, you can only do regular block on those.
@@VuceFinityhaha thanks bro I would have kept banging my head against a wall if I never seen ur vid
No worries man, the tutorial in the game is kinda ass imo. I’m gonna cover more fundamentals that aren’t explained properly in future videos too 🔥
Flying kick might have a small window of vanish, since they bots always vanish my flying kicks lmao
It’s definitely not vanishable. You can Super Counter it though with precise timing of Up + Square.
@@VuceFinity Yeah probably not to us players but, bots do be vanishing it lol
I noticed this too but i wasn't sure if it was just the small hitbox
Yeah essentially if they don’t want this game to fall off they need to add vanish clash or adjust the timing for vanishes because right now its actually ridiculous 😂 either fights are boring af or just you getting vanish combo thrown around until you die its stupid
Yeah I agree, I hope they can patch the vanish timings or adjust it to Tenkaichi 3 mechanics.
There was hardly any vanish chains on that game because the lower health you had, the fewer vanishing frames you had. It also consumed a lot more Ki so it didn’t run as long.
@@VuceFinity yessss it was so much better like that because you couldn’t just near infinite vanish the whole fight lol
Or a vanish that goes back to neutral, like down + block you just vanish far away with more recovery so you can't use this to punish the opponent
Yeah that’s a good alternative option too. Tbh I’d constantly use that as I hate having to constantly charge Ki just to move around in this game.
How do I counter someone how hit my block once and vanish behind me cause that’s the I be losing cause I can never block it or dodge it. I try to do the same but I rarely work for me.
is this classic or standard ?
You can use rush attacks and then click your guard button and use your analog stick to vanish behind them mid combo, and carry on the attack.
can you do ↑□ when you get into infinite vanishes?
Very good question, I’ve seen clips of this being done in offline mode (very hard timing).
Apparently in online gameplay its basically impossible to do because of the slight input delay from connections, I’m going to have to try experimenting with this more to find out fully.
Im confused. The entire time you're saying guard while your controller inputs do not reflect that
He’s using classic controls
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve mentioned that I’m on Classic controls at the start. I forgot that Circle on Standard is actually Perception, but the timings for the inputs are all the same.
guard is R1, not circle.
you must be using classic control. you better mention that
I mention in the video several times to click your guard input, but I should’ve pointed out that it’s R1 on standard, apologises if that caused any confusion.
I’m fine off-line but when I get online I can’t vanish a goddamn thing.
It’s a bug
It’s likely to do with your connection and input delay as I’ve heard from others they’re having the same issue.
Once they switched to wired with better connection they could vanish, try that?
If I hold it instead of press would it still vanish if the timing is right? Or just try to block
Good question. I think even if you hold it a few frames before you’re supposed to click it, it’ll work.
Even for regular vanishing though I always click and hold circle for a bit then carry on with attacks.
Play around in training mode and you’ll see the rhythm for it
@@VuceFinity nice to know thanks!!
Playing Offline Vanishing is easy but playing Online Vanishing is the hardest thing to do
I think it could be your connection then, are you playing wireless?
What setting do you put the bot on to practice the vanihsing?
This particular video I had a friend help out for the specific types of vanishable attacks.
You can put the bot to settings like Rush Chains, Smash Attack and Follow Up Attacks to practice more general ones.
If you scroll in the “Opponent Settings” in training mode it’ll say lots of options with descriptions to help.
Is this on classic cause circle is perception
Sorry I should’ve pointed this out, I’m on Classic so my guard button is Circle.
Your guard button should be R1 so just click that with the exact same timings to vanish.
How are you NOT swinging after a vanish? Sometimes i attack sometimes i dont
I think I’ve actually faced the same problem as you but I just brushed it aside. I’ll check later in training and get back to you once I have a proper answer
yeah this is cool but how do you actually vanish
Hi, sorry if I'm wrong. You said press guard to vanish but guard is the bumper button (r1 on ps, rb on xbox)?? But you're pressing O button which is the counter button??
I really want to get better at this
i think hes using a different button layout like classic or something.... he neglected to give that info for some reason
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
Yeah I’m using Classic and I should’ve mentioned this at the start, it honestly slipped my mind.
@@VuceFinity thank you. Great video, I'm subbed, help us noobs out some more
Thank you so much for the support bro, trying my best to put out guides to help everyone! 🔥
Thanks. What’s the different from vanishing with R1 and O ?
It's R1 in Standard control scheme, O in Classic control scheme. The person in this video is using the Classic scheme, so it's O for them. In Standard controls, O does "Perception," which is a counter and works differently from the Vanishing technique.
@@DudeLongcouchso with the classic I have to hold 2 buttons at the same time?
@@SolidSL510 Yeah, with Classic, you must hold O + Triangle to do Perception. It's one of the reasons they changed the controls the way they did. If you're not accustomed to Classic controls already, I think it's better to go with Standard tbh.
Thanks for explaining this! You seem pretty knowledgeable about the controls. What options exist to dodge a ki blast like solar flare?? Thanks dude
What is the difference between R1 and circle?
I should’ve clarified I’m using Classic controls where my guard button is Circle. I mention to click your guard button in the video which is R1 on Standard (I’m assuming you play that).
Circle on Standard controls is the button for Perception which is another defensive mechanic in the game.
What control settings are you using, normal, classic, or classic custom?
Sorry I should’ve clarified in the video I’m using Classic controls. The idea is the same though, you click your guard button which is R1 on Standard at the same timings to vanish.
But is this with standard controll options or classic ?
Sorry I should’ve specified, this is Classic controls but it works the same way. You click your guard button which is R1 on Standard at the exact same time to vanish
I can do this consistently, but online it's not the same at all unfortunately.
I mention to click your guard button which is Circle for me, but you should click R1 to vanish (circle is perception for you)
Glad to see you back in the fighting game space, the game right now needs to get some adjustments though but I believe it can be a good game with time.
Where do I go to play the mode he’s in (dummy player)
How to vanish while flying back after a kick?
You can’t vanish after they kick you and you’re flying back, but you can recover mid air.
I think it’s holding Circle with Left Stick Up or Down, I can’t remember fully but it was in the training mode.
Why is he using the perception button to vanish? I thought R1 was the way
Sorry for the confusion, I’m using Classic but I should’ve clarified this at the start. It works the exact same way though, you click your guard button which is R1 on Standard to vanish and make sure you do it at the same time as the video.
Almost uninstalled the game bc of this thank you
Haha no worries man, at first vanishing is definitely hard, especially if you don’t know the timings and situations for it.
Make sure you practise this in training mode and you’ll get it in no time! 😎
Can you not just us skill like a barrier to escape from the infinit vanish if you have less ki than your oppenent ?
The story mode also does unrealistic buffs to the characters that last for really long times, online gameplay will be a lot different.
bro i’m having the same issue i can’t vanish but i can’t vanish again it’s bots and shi
I recommend you going into the training mode and putting the CPU to smash attack mode, you will start to learn the timing for vanishing and then you can move onto more advanced attack vanishing.
Is guard R1 on standard controls
Sorry about the confusion, I should’ve stated that I’m on Classic and I didn’t realise Circle on Standard is Perception. The timings of all these inputs are still the same though, click R1 at the same time.
Online timing is dif its too hard
Do you play on wired connection? I’ve heard from some other people that you can have some input delay if you play wirelessly.
Off topic, but curious why you say ki-i instead of just saying ki
Sorry I should’ve specified this, it’s actually Kiai Cannon. The game says Ki Blast Cannon Attack but this is actually a translation error, every previous Tenkaichi game said Kiai Cannon.
The anime also refers it as Kiai Cannon so I use that instead.
I’m pretty sure you can vanish flying kicks. Had it happen to me. B1 super vegito
You can’t vanish Flying Kick. It’s never been vanishable in any Tenkaichi game before, you must’ve mistook it for something else.
Super Vegito also doesn’t have Flying Kick in his Rush Chains.
@@VuceFinity no a super vegito did it to me. I have the clip too
Hmm I’m still doubtful as even Tenkaichi 3 veterans have said Flying Kick, Kiai Cannon and Blaster Wave are unvanishable.
Maybe you’re confusing them using Afterimage Strike when you used a Smash Attack.
this is a clasic control ?
Yes it’s classic, sorry for not clarifying. Just click R1/Guard button at the exact same time and you will vanish the same way.
To vanish u click R1?
Yes on Standard you click R1 with the exact same timing to vanish
Standard or classic comand?
I personally use Classic because I’m used to Tenkaichi 3 controls.
If you’re a new player I’d recommend trying Standard though as I heard it’s better for new mechanics.
I provide inputs for both controller styles in my videos, so you can still follow along.
does this work the same way if i use R1 ??
Yes, I should’ve clarified at the start I’m using Classic so my guard input is Circle. On standard it’s R1 so it works the exact same way with the timings of the input
I don’t get it I feel like the timing is different on online
It might be due to some input delay, do you use wired or wireless connection? I heard from some people the game felt way more responsive when they switched to wired
@ I use wireless
If you can try to somehow get wired connection then it’s gonna improve your game for sure. Are you on PS5?
So you can't vanish super or ultimates?
You can vanish them but it works a bit differently and there’s some tricks to it, I’m going to make a separate video on them.
Am I only only who can’t vanish npcs
What do you mean NPCs? If you mean the CPU then follow the timings in this video and practice it in training. You can set the CPU to use Vanishing moves so that its efficient
The rush/punches are vanishable just not the first hit
Nope, every basic rush attack is not vanishable.
You can try putting the CPU to rush attack mode in training, you won’t be able to vanish it.
@@VuceFinity I did I vanished twice without any afterimages or anything so you might have wrong timing
K so Im using classic custom an have circle as my block - anyway how do I stop being a combo pinball to story ai😅?
Nice a fellow classic user! Haha I haven’t actually played the story mode but don’t worry as the story mode has unrealistic buffs to the AI that wouldn’t be in actual matches.
It’s more of a party mode kinda thing with the story.
@@VuceFinity hmm ok lol😅 also a friend was telling me I just need to time ❌ and ⏹
Did he mean clicking them both at the same time? That’s a new move called Vanishing Assault which costs Ki and is used as an attack instead.
The vanishing I’m talking about here is for defense and the first vanish doesn’t cost any Ki, so it’s really important to learn this.
@@VuceFinity If ur referring to me, i only know square & X to vanish is there another way?
Yeah don’t use square and X a lot. That uses up Ki and is better used for offense.
Learn the defensive vanish which is R1 on Standard, if you watch my video again you can see all the timings to vanish attacks (except I click circle but that’s because I’m on Classic).
Classic controls?
Sorry I should’ve mentioned I’m on Classic but it works the exact same way on Standard. Click R1 with the same timing to vanish these attacks.
Wait so you can go into training mode with a friend ?
Nah you can create a private battle lobby and send them the code. You don’t have any training setting options unfortunately.
What about a blast attack.
I don’t think you explained that.
Yeah Supers and Ultimates are vanishable but it’s a bit more in depth and works differently so I’m going to make a separate guide in the future for this, stay tuned! 🔥
bro pls tutorial for the super counter
I’m going to make an in depth guide on them soon, stay tuned.
so I learned this, beat goku black and was left at nothing AND ZAMAZU FUCKING APPEARS WHAT THE HELL💀
Lmaooo you must’ve been shocked when that happens haha. It’s like when Zamasu appears in the other timeline in the anime, the duo was too OP.
I’m yet to play the story mode, I gotta try this out as I heard it’s kinda hard.
Theses so much math to this game 😂
Haha in Tenkaichi 3 you actually had to consider more overall, the less health you had the less frames you have to vanish.
They’ve made it easier in Sparking Zero
Turns out i was pressing the wrong button
Are you on Standard or Classic Controls? If you are on Standard you need to click R1 instead of Circle to do these vanishes.
pc guide pls
i dont know how to play but every one is doing play guides
@@VuceFinity yea was thinking the same, ah well i guess ill just spam analog and hope it sticks
It’s also fun when you don’t know what you’re doing and just accept defeat beforehand that way you won’t be disappointed in the end👍 plus this game’s completely unbalanced anyway.
with a mindset like this you'll stuck being at the power level you are at
I completely see your viewpoint of the game.
Some people just wanna play casually and that’s not really a problem, the game is fun if you just appreciate it visually for sure.
@@VuceFinity yea I don’t see myself being completely competitive in this game like some people, I don’t think there is that much to do besides fight other people and I do think I’m going to hop on everyday. I’ll save the competitive side of me for UFC 5😁
This game isn’t meant to be balanced lmao this isn’t fighterz
I only have a 10% success rate on counter and vanishes
You gotta practise them in the training mode bro, if you even do something like 15m a day you’ll drastically improve 💪
i didnt understand a single thing u said👌👌😭😭
“Key eye cannon” ?
Its actually called Kiai Cannon, Kiai is when its a shockwave and not a ki blast its probably a translation error
Sorry I’m too used to the Tenkaichi 3 Terminology. It’s a Rush Chain technique that’s actually now called Ki Blast Cannon Attack, but that sounds lame so I’m gonna call it Kiai Cannon 😎
Yeah it was the correct naming in Tenkaichi 3, not sure why they changed Ground Slash to Grand Slash too (makes less sense).
Bro giving ya the sauce pay attention
Haha thank you man, I’m trying to get you guys cooking online 🔥
goku black and zamasu alternate route is impossible
I haven’t played the story mode yet but I heard it’s quite difficult haha. Keep at it and you’ll complete them! 💪
@@VuceFinityThank you and I hope so 😁
Your profile picture brought back some memories haha. The realistic Buu and Frieza looked so creepy back in the day 😭
So when the enemy vanishes behind me and then uses regular square attacks how do I counter him?
Z counter
@@steezuschrist0999 can i z counter someone who is hitting my back
@@Iasonas6 yes
@@Iasonas6 be prepared for a vanish battle after you z counter tho
@@steezuschrist0999 i meant when the enemy goes behind you and spams square, not the z counter, like at the start of the video where you that you cant vanish from the fast attack
Can someone teach me? I play on keyboard and mouse
You mean in general or for vanishing? All you have to do is click your guard button on keyboard at the same time and it’ll work.
I need keyboard instructions why is everyone playing with PlayStation
Damn you’re playing on keyboard? I respect the play style. The last time I played a fighting game on keyboard was a great flash game called Super Smash Flash 2.
I’m not sure of anyone that plays Tenkaichi on KBM unfortunately.
D'angelo Pines
?
Huh, what a coincidence.
Hopefully this popped up at the right time for you to improve defense 💪
All this comments is full of nunsense vanishing speech for real if you struggle on vanishing try to avoid vanishing fights and make him do the first vanishing
