You can actually purcahse a doorbell which is equipped with cctv linked to mobile phone . Its not that expensive .

No one gonna knick your shoes in a condo, its equipped with security guard , or the cleaner reckons the ugly worn shoes are for disposal.

Don't mind if i tell a small joke. My Chinese Singaporean friend went to France 30 years ago for vacation. He spoke to the subway staff and asked for some information. The French staff refused to speak English (and I was told that French are very proud of their language) and he replied in French. My friend was totally clueless on what he said. He suddenly thought of an idea. He spoke to the staff in Mandarin and the staff could not understand a word. The staff unintentionally and with no choice - switched to English. Mission accomplished.
