    It's wise of you to set aside a significant portion of your earnings for savings/insurance. Do consider dividends-paying stocks that have a good track record of dividend payout. So far stocks such as DBS, OCBC, and SIA have delivered. And stocks are more liquid. And you can buy them directly from online platforms.

      I think it depends on your risk appetite and your saving strategy! In a perfect world, you get a bit of everything - stock, insurance...

    SGD9k income per month? What do you do for a living?

      I will probably retire in SG if I end up living most of my life here - it's hard to retire in a country you haven't lived in in a long time

      I earn about $8k per month as a software engineer and with the youtube channel not much, about $30 per month! I do sometimes collaboration on TikTok especially but most of them are not paid!

      That's the norm in SG for software engineers in late 20s.. Fresh grads get about $80k.
