I have several sizes and types of cases, including Pelican cases. Recently, i bought a few cases made by Nanuk in Canada. These cases are very high quality. I like these Nanuk's more than most of my Pelicans. Definately worth looking into if you're into that kind of thing.
@@YTInnovativeSolution never heard of em! I’m surrounding by cheap pelicans due to my career, but I’ll look up nanuk 😎
@teamoildrop So far, I have model 904 in blue and model 915 in red. Next model will be for one of my laptops.
@ enter them! I’m about to do one for my drone 😎
I really like it, to me it checks a box for an on the go tool kit (a million ways to skin that one); but also looks like it was just a fun project to assemble.
@@ZedRedDuece that is EXACTLY what it is 😎 build one!
What a great idea. I will have to remember this when I buy my Tacoma.
@@DaleGriffiths-g3r 🍻
Put a zip tie around the bic lighter, underneath the gas lever, and it should prevent the lever from being accidentally pressed down when in the box. Don’t cinch it too tight, and you will be able to slide it off when using the lighter and then put back in place when storing it. I do that with my lighters when storing in a kit and so far it has prevented unwanted release of the gas.
@@wmitrader hey that’s pretty sharp 😎
Awesome, more stuff for me to spend money on 😂
@@HDubb69 I too am a man of easy convincing 😆 💳
I’ve put together some smaller 1/4” and 3/8” kits lately and it seems like you are still taking up a lot of empty space with foam. I’ve made a couple 1/4” out of dewalt bill holder cases and I’ve made a 3/8” kit as well. I’ve got more sockets and attachments in less space, and they click together. I use rotohead ratchets, since they also can be used as a driver with screwdriver and Allen and torx bits.
@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam mmhmm, this was mostly just for fun. Being the size of a lunchbox it’s hard length practical for my trucks storage and needs. Show us what you’ve made in the competition!
While your kit is beautifully done, you could cram a lot more in there if you removed the foam.
@@jtr109 I don’t disagree… but the fun is in the foam 😎
It would also make noise, and that I do disagree with
Not sure why i was expecting this to be the Harbor Freight mini tool box
ha! you can definitely use a harbor freight mini pelican style also. But yah, not the mini metal we all love.
It reminds me of a mini version of the GMTK we had in the Marines.
@@Mmmmmmdonuts we’ve got big ones in the Army too. I even made a video on it. Snapon beand everything
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now. Only what I need, in a package that won’t rattle.
Perfect time for a contest too 😎
a hole saw kit works perfect for cutting in your various socket sizes, great Idea and love the DIY channel
Thanks! I have a set but I’ll tell you you gotta have a lot of tiny hole saws 😆
@@teamoildrop I've seen people hit the sockets/items with a blowtorch to get em hot (but not too hot to temper the metal) and then just melt them into place. Probably stinky and not the best way, but definitely works.
@ hey that’s a way… is it sticking to the sockets? Seems like if it’s not perfect it’d be a mess with a larger margin for error…
For what it's worth, I'd be happy to support you and the channel if you ever offered 'kits' specific to generation in your web store! Affiliate links for now! Edit: Thanks for your service.
@@stevensimpson6208 man I’ve dreamt of doing that! One day, one day 😎 thank you!
It's a pretty good CTK!
@@EverydayLayman I don’t know what that means 😮
Now the big question is to go black or OD green.... ahh decisions decisions.
@@Graywolf116 right? Assigning colors based on cornets is also so appealing
fantastic
You joinin in on this here contest 😎?
Tool roll.
Also a great option! Just not as nicely organized in our opinion!
-Austin
Agreed. I switched to a roll for the inclusion of more tools. Not waterproof, though. I found the Ryker bag to be top-notch.
@@modestcody123 I got an atlas it was on sale for $150. Its a good size. If you have some decent chrome stuff you should be fine. Or slather them in Ballistol.
@@teamoildrop If you get into an accident you have a hard projectile in your cabin. Thats why I opted for a tool roll. Sailrite has a tool roll kit for $75-79ish.
@ this logic says never have an item in your vehicle. Store it under or behind your bench seat like the rest of us
neat but unnecessarily bulky
@@nodashipl it’s a small lunchbox
A rolling tool bag is way better. Also if you are gonna go spend money on a box and to use in a truck, might as well just buy any tool set that already comes with the box. Also half of those tools can be replaced by a knipex cobras or pliers wrench. My motorcycle tool roll has way more and better tools than that lol
Works great for our needs! Custom means you can add or remove anything you want as you see fit and it's well organized!
-Austin
please make a video showing us how your knipex will fill the role of a ratchet and socket set or "half the tools" in here
This dudes the real tool bag
@teamoildrop google knipex plies wrench. Show me one nut that monkey wrench can remove that the knipex won't. I'll wait. Don't get offended. There are better ways to do what you did. 😉
