3D was ok, i really liked what they did with the physics but the first level (first 8 races) was the only casual fun to be had, the second you buy the first bike upgrade and move onto level 2 it gets noticeably more serious with heavy traffic, riders being much more aggressive with better weapons and much more bendy tracks. No matter how well i did it only ever seemed to put me a few seconds in the clear on the times at the end even though i wouldnt even see the oppenents finish 🤣. Crash even at 90-95% through the race aswell and its almost certainly a restart if you want to qualify. In the end, after playing all the other Road Rash games and this one not really being much different, the frustration just outweighed the fun abit too much to be bothered to learn the tracks.

Not sure how Soulsy it is as it’s been a while, but the Legend of Kay was one of my favorite PS2 games as a kid. Had really fun lock on type combat. The main character can be pretty annoying, but I think the simple story is pretty fun.

DW bro im with u, i LOVE Origins!! It was also my introduction to Silent Hill. The first time i played it on the PSP I was too scared to continue so i left it alone for 2 years 😆I later went back to it and i was still just as scared! But i had no internet so i stuck to it and i finished it! multiple times actually, i think i got all the endings. All the bonus weapons were so fun! but man that game is SCARY! The industrial sounding BGM in the otherworld, only pausing slightly to hear a heart beating, unsure if its part of the game or is it my own? it still haunts me to this day, the sound design was perfect! playing at 2am alone in the dark... nope im not doing that again 😂 I played SH1 after that and then I wanted to play SH2 and 3 on the PS2 but to be quite honest with u, I was just too scared so i never did lmao Now that the remake is out, i still refuse to play it 🤪

I feel like Monster Hunter, although very different in spirit, might be a pretty interesting contestant for a RPG-SoulsLike. It is about hunting big hard bosses with a lot of health where you need to memorize the attack patterns so that you can defensively roll (carful with stamina tho) and then punish them, you also have limited healing, and healing is pretty risky since it leaves you vulnerable for a while. Of course, outside of boss fights it is not at all similar, sure, but there is something about fights that gives me s dimilsr vibe

Wasn’t this supposed to be released “later 2024”? any update on release date? I was pretty excited for this game at first but idk now. I think a full remake is what was needed for this. Seems like a remaster won’t be able to work out the way they’re planning. I’ll likely still give it a shot tho 🤷🏽‍♂️

Among the thousands of games I own, I barely finished a few dozens at best. Drakan is one of them and God, what a game ! It kept me entertained for weeks, maybe months (as a gamer I'm slow as hell). In my sleep I was even dreaming about it sometimes. All you said about it is true. By no means this is a perfect game, but it has a great charm and personality. Thanks for bringing this hidden gem back to my memories.

The original game was fundamentally flawed and Computer Artworks (the original devs) themselves were restricted by limitations, they wanted to improve upon these limits in the planned and cancelled sequel. This game wasn't even faithful to the film at all.. Really bad story, even if they fix all the issues from the original. We need a proper The Thing game.
