And I speak about Drakan: Order of the Flame from 1999. Which I got like 7 years later from my brother's friend XD

I had no idead ps2 had a Dororo game, now i must play it... thx for it... also the Baroque for ps2 and Wii, they kinda improved so much, that made the game a bit worse

Holy shit, I barely remember playing some bad ass demo of a woman flying a dragon off an old JamPack disc when i was a kid. I always thought it was a fever dream and never knew the games name until this video. Thank you, im definitely gonna revisit as an adult and give it an honest playthrough. Drakan is my favorite game of all time. Read the review in Gameinformer over 20 years ago when it released and picked it up as a young teen. To this day, I never see anyone talk about it on yt and know ones ever heard of it. I've always felt I'm the only person who loves it 😂

"Cleverly devised adrenaline meter" I love Nightmare Creatures but the adrenaline meter is the most poorly implemented and thought out mechanic in any game I have ever played. It almost single handedly ruins the entire game. I refuse the play Nightmare Creatures withiut disabling the mechanic with a game shark. Its very telling the the N64 version game the option to disable, the sequel didnt even have it, and more importantly... a former developer that worked on the game even stated that it was never even meant to be in the game and was only implemented in a last minute panic when the publisher play tested it and complained that they could finish levels quickly by just running past every monster.

The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Series is pretty similar as well! The theming with you being "undead" in some way, collecting "souls" from defeated enemies and combat are reminiscent of the Souls games while also having it's own different mechanics and enemies only being able to get finished off with certain methods. It's medium difficulty, but I'd recommend it as well! Great video!

I love Fromsoft's King's Field series, but their spiritual successor, Shadow Tower (ps1), is my favorite!

I dont understand the hate for lords of the fallen its average at best yes but it functions i never had any crazy issues getting through it

you must test play nioh its excelent souls game back in ng1 and go in ng+5 in 10 sec hardest than all fromsoft games

I absolutely love Drakan: The Ancient's Gate and I have been playing it since I was a child; when it first released. I think I was like 6 or 7 playing that game. Nobody knows about the game, even in retro gaming communities, nobody ever talks about it. THANK YOU for bringing it into the spotlight. To be honest, you brought a TON of great games to the spotlight: Onimusha, Tenchu, etc. These are great games that folks just either don't know about or don't talk about. Awesome video, dude. Amazing! I played Drakan pc game at a friend's place, and it stayed with me for decades. I've never remembered how it was called, but I've found it now! And a ps2 sequel? Thank you!
