I want more than anything for this to be Silent Hill's own Resident Evil 7. A confident new title that capitalizes on what made the series great while still going in it's own direction!
Ewwwww. I want it to be its own game yes. But RE7 was an atrocious deviation from RE that was made just to cash in on the genre that was popular at the time.
Ryukishi07 is one of my favorite writers ever, hearing that this game was being writtwn about him made me really excited. I got into the franchise because of that announcement. I'm so excited to see what he does with it.
I am fan of Ryukishi07 and Higurashi, so I know whatever the character of silent hill f are going to experience will be brutal lol However, the most recent Higurashi anime was really bad so I'm still cautiously optimistic
That's because of the studio. It's hardly Ryukishi's fault. The writing was much different from Higurashi & Umineko (VNs) so it was obvious they didn't let him do what he wanted with the story. It probably would've lasted much longer if they did and they wanted a shorter anime. Even Dean's adaptation of the VN was significantly better than Passione's work.
@thelooseygoose that won't work, silent Hill isn't a first person call of duty shooter, that's not why people love them so a first person game won't work and short message was so bad I won't buy it if it's like that
Not to mention that the main monster WAS a creature made from sakura flowers that closely resemble F's protagonist at the end of the trailer, or how the rooftop flowers at the end of Short Message look similar to the ones from the F trailer
oh yeah the resident evil side of things has been spotty and it was dark for a minute there but silent hill hasn’t had an objectively good game that pleased the fans since the PS2. They got 3 GREAT games, then some games that some people liked, but some didn’t, then just death after death after death. but the remake was great so maybe they’re finally onto something
TW ; unalive tendencies Let’s see if I can even write this comment out without UA-cam’s filter system not liking something I say. Higurashi saved my life. I lost my grandpa in 2021, he was a huge part in my life. (I have BPD so emotional connections are VERY strong) without Gou airing, I wouldn’t be here. I wanted to know how it ended. So safe to say, this is the game I am looking forward to THE MOST
If you played the first game, the town Silent Hill only becomes what it’s known for due to the cult activity by “The Order”. The twisted psychological horror of the town doesn’t come from the town itself but from sick rituals done by the cult. So it doesn’t make sense Silent Hill to not be a metaphor. It is possible that in some rural Japanese village, some cult is doing ritual shit and ended up creating their own version of “Silent Hill”.
@ghhgafzan I see you're also a man of culture. Yes, I would love more cultic mysticism in silent hill. While I do like sh2,. It's always bugged me how the franchise moves further and further away from its roots.
@@raposojogadorgf8761 i don’t remember any direct quote or anything that implies that the town “Silent Hill” itself is the anomaly, but rather during my playtime of the first 3 games it’s always been a snap of news articles or some sort of archives that tells you about the actions that are done by the cult and their teachings. In the first game it is clearly depicted that the fog world and its corruption are caused by Alessa’s supernatural ability and her suffering by the cult, she was supposed to give birth to their “God” after all. In the 3rd game the stuff that’s supposed to stay in Silent Hill somehow happened elsewhere, due to Heather (Alessa’s reincarnation) being there. In SH4 Sullivan’s cult ritual caused the apartment to be corrupted by the Otherworld. The only implication that I know of that make Silent Hill special is the SH2 Rebirth ending, which tells that some sort of God is residing in Silent Hill. But then again, to unlock the ending you need to collect the cult’s ritual items. All that sounds to me is that the cult (which has deep history with Silent Hill) is the sole reason Silent Hill is the way it is.
The game looks beautiful and the writer is 1 of the best fiction writers, but I have doubts that this project will finish or be end up being rushed. Also, the studio seems to have 0 experience making original games which is concerning. If they can nail the gameplay and give Ryukishi full control over the story I think this can be on the level on Elden Ring but for horror games.
hopefully they don't try to follow thrends and go back to the roots of the series a bit like re7 did a new setting new gameplay and new enemies but with the atmospheres the series is know for being the best at . also i need a new badass castlevania game.
This is definitely a unpopular opinion, but from people describing it as resident evil I’m not exactly excited. The downfall of silent hill was when they tried to replicate resident evil, the story and humanity was what made it what it was. I picked this franchise because it was so deep with such intricate stories. I hope they keep the stories going, but if this doesn’t have that I don’t know how excited I am.
The resident evil comparison is actually incredibly interesting because you are 100% right about the games beginning to fail when they tried to replicate resident evil, but what is incredibly ironic about that, is that trying to replicate the success of the resident evil remakes, is what is going to bring the franchise back, and it’s already working with the SH2 remake. very interesting stuff for sure
@@Mortuary_Gaming silent Hill 2 remake sucks and wasn't a success at all. It failed to outsell the original thus far. Bloober team was fired and will not be hired to Demake sh3. Do the homework on that.
It could. If there’s a “place of the silent spirits” in the US there could be one in Japan. Higurashi is very similar to Silent Hill, it’s about a small town and its myths and spirits
It's not called "Silent Hill Ehff". The developers have specified that it is a "𝆑" a musical symbol meaning "Forte". The correct saying of the title is "Silent Hill Forte". There isn't even an actual "F" in the logo, so people need to stop calling it that.

Agreed❤

I don't agree. Give me SH 1-4, just different story and I'll be happy.
Ewwwww. I want it to be its own game yes. But RE7 was an atrocious deviation from RE that was made just to cash in on the genre that was popular at the time.
The true Silent Hill is the disappointment we feel along the way. Konami is a master of psychological torture that way.

As much as I'm excited for the game, I'm not having too high hopes, since its Konami they tend to flop really hard. But hey, who knows? 🤷
Hardly his fault if it's just the anime that's bad lol
@@vin8754 anime team and vn writer are different team I think what they were trying to say, and limintation due to that.
I like it when these smaller studios tackle big name franchises. Bloober team did a great job with SH2R.
As long as it's not first person like PT/Short message,I will be excited
it could potentially be pretty good still. if it has the same effect that Resident Evil 7 had on the franchise
@thelooseygoose that won't work, silent Hill isn't a first person call of duty shooter, that's not why people love them so a first person game won't work and short message was so bad I won't buy it if it's like that
A reinterpretation of the Raven in Japanese mythology could create an interesting narrative given the franchises Native American roots.
I swear to fuck if this gets the SILENT HILLS (P.T) treatment I am gonna cry
What if this been in development since PT and that's why PT was canceled cuz they wanted to perfect silent Hill f
As a fellow German, I can confirm that there is a connection to SH F, since the streets here are plastered with evil flowers and Japanese ghosts
I'm sure you're gonna love higurashi. Just know that it is definitely on the slower burn side.
The Witch of Kettenstadt, dude. There may be a connection. And The Short Message has some Ryukishi07-like (lite?) themes too.

That is the problem with Konami. They were original but then changed to just go after what others do and ruined the company
Higurashi all I needed to hear
Higurashi and Umineko, my loves.

The silent hill phenomenon is a smart decision on their part. This game wouldn't happen without it.
