I don’t know about a favorite. I just finished _Four Huts_ translated by Burton Watson and feel pretty good about it - but when I attempted it many years ago it absolutely didn’t work for me so I hesitate to recommend it. 😸

I read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd based upon your liking it. Before reading it, I had decided Poirot books were no longer for me after reading a couple that didn't really impress me. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd changed my mind. The solution was a real shocker. I also read my first Miss Marple book - The Murder at the Vicarage. I liked it a lot. I listened to the audiobook of Yellowface. It was a 5 star read. One of my top books of the year. I read We Have Always Lived In The Castle this month. Although not one of my top books this year, I did like it. My top book this year was Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang. I actually run towards YA novels. 🐈‍⬛

Absolute favorite for me was Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. I read on my Kindle but the audio book gets high praise for reasons I cannot divulge! 🤫😊 🐈

My best books of 2024: The Count of Monte Cristo, Shogun, and Tai-Pan.🐱

A friend recommended Yellowface to me, so I might try it in the new year. One of my favs was the mystery Magpie Murders. It was so engrossing. 😸

Although I don't like ya novels, I'm interested in challenger deep and gonna buy a copy for me InshaAllah. Thanks for the recommendation. Love from Egypt 🇪🇬❤️

Also enjoyed Yellowface and have Nuclear War on library hold. Was passing on The Husbands before, but you've convinced me and I'll add it to the list! My favourite fiction read this year is Black Butterflies by Priscilla Morris and nonfiction bests are Crossings by Ben Goldfarb, Cobalt Red by Siddharth Kara, and Being Mortal by Atul Gawande! 🐱

Why is the maid void of any emotion .has she autism .its ridiculous.as Peopje woth ASD feel emotion more yet she acts like a robot . The robot character actually annoyed me . Its totally silly

For non-fiction November I'm reading The Bookshop: The History of the American Bookstore by Evan Friss. I was actually reading it anyway as part of a book club. 🥾

Like Water for Chocolate is a great book and I also loved the movie, you should watch it! Btw, Max will be premiering a new adaptation, but this time will be in series format :)

I think next year I'm going to try and read three books in French. Maybe we can support each other on that one. 🍄🍄🍄
