    Well thats it now, Jill needs her own channel now 😄 ill subscibe to that. On a scale from 1 to changing your underpants, how much did you poop yourself when you went down low to see that blade 😳 😄 even i jumped a little bit. Cant believe your still getting blade breaks, it has to be the quality of the bands surely now.

    • @BigelowWoodcraft
      @BigelowWoodcraft 8 годин тому

      I'm sure it's the bands. I was actually looking at my lifting screw. The bearing I installed had little clearance when I built this modification. It was hitting the upright bushing. I didn't realize it. It happened when I loosened all the bolts to rack the carriage to get the blade level. I was checking to see why the mill wouldn't go all the way down to 3/4. Yeah I'm getting pretty numb to the band breakage. I barely flinch any longer. You know what bands I've not broken? Any 10 degree rippers blades. I've not broken one of them yet...that I recall. I must have gotten a full box of bad 7 degree blades. I'm hoping to try out the stellite blades tomorrow. Jill, did you hear Nick? He said you need a channel lol.

    Go team J&J on the splitting there. I see your using the Allen family Firewood pallet stands there. Nice drops on those 2 trees also, nicely put down and in good space too. It certainly needed to come down though with that rot running through it. Great video guys, keep the dream alive.

    • @BigelowWoodcraft
      @BigelowWoodcraft 9 годин тому

      That's exactly where I got the idea for those pallets. I say if Phil and Karen are doing it then it must work. Those hickories were a big threat to his barn. The 2nd video has some power difficult trees but I got them down safely for him. Plus I got some logs. Win win for all of us. Thanks Nick for all the continued support.

    I love this video. I had R TKA in 2009 and was in horrible pain for over a year. I’ve been due for L TKA for at least 2 years and have been putting it off and just getting steroid shots, which have only minimally helped if at all. Unfortunately, I’m very deconditioned now because I can’t even walk around the block due to pain. There is a new knee replacement surgery technique called Jiffy Knee (terrible name), which is the same surgery but does not cut any tendons or muscle, so recovery time is faster and less painful. This is the surgery that I have opted to try and will be getting surgery on October 16. I’m looking for all the encouragement and advice that I can get. 😊

    • @BigelowWoodcraft

    yay on the full recovery! i'm 6 weeks post knee replacement surgery... extension at 0 degrees, flexion at 128 degrees. i had a lot of swelling the first 3 weeks. elevating and ice were huge difference makers. i also used a product called plasma flow..a mobile limb compression device used to prevent blood clots. my doc requires it for all his patients to use 20 hours/day for 2 weeks after surgery. i definitely still have stiffness in my new knee joint, but based on my other knee replacement ( 6 years prior), it will get better over time. and btw, i think the actual surgery part is the easiest of the whole process and the toughest is week 2... after the nerve block wears off and the swelling starts. thanks for making these videos. based on other folks and my experience, you had an easy and fast recovery!

      @@markeustice618 thank you Mark. I didn't have photos of it installed until the video was done. I think the thumbnail has a photo of it installed. Next weeks video I do show it installed.

    There it is, the video of the spiraled column lathe. Got some great potential no doubt. What was going on with the power feed ? Was it getting hung up a little with the entry cut being on the turn ? Will be great to see what you make from these buddy, great video and I'm glad I finally seen it after seeing the Instagram videos of it.

      I have the the chain advancement clipped on to the carriage. The chain got snagged and stopped the carriage. If I'm aware of it I can prevent it right at the start of the cut and it'll be a smooth pull. I turned up the motor and it broke loose in this case. I need to get back on it. And give it another try. I have some ideas. Lol
