  • Not making Toothpicks on the SuperSplit HD. Some think the SuperSplit is just a weak machine. The SuperSplit HD makes easy work of these big logs.

@@nmancini that's cool. I saw a video tour of their facilities. Thanks for the kind words. Have a great weekend.

I always try to put some wood “ shrapnel “ in the mix too. A piece of wood sandwich size is handy . Nice machine.

Heck yes. Just makes it that much easier to light.

That is quite the splitter. I heat my home with an outdoor wood burning boiler too. It is a job getting enough wood to keep seasoned wood stockpiled. The last couple years I have had to cut all the ash off my place and what I haven't milled into lumber I have used as fuel. Also I've had a number of red oak die from what ever kills them. Can't say for sure if it is carpenter ants, but everyone I have milled is infested with them or some type of worm. Probably something from overseas that gets them! Keep em coming Jerry, you have some interesting topics and we have a lot in common when it comes to operating a sawmill. Take care. Ed

@@jbarlazye911 good morning Ed. I really like this splitter. Our red oaks as well are all dying. Oak wilt is running through our forests here. This UA-cam community is fantastic. So many of us with like minded activities. Have a great weekend.

That Super Split is a great machine. Everyone that I know that has one says great things about them. I agree the push block has always seemed small. I think it should at least match the wedge height. Take care Jerry👍🏻👍🏻

@@toddsoutsideagain I don't know why they would make it so small. It is a great machine. Thanks for watching and taking the time to support the channel with a comment. I greatly appreciate it. Have a great weekend.

This is just a personal comment, but it might save you some time; when you are editing the video - you can just run the process end to end, no need to cut out slices. I was watching the action and then all of a sudden the table is wiped clean - ha ha - anyway, you do what you feel like, I am just making a suggestion. Good videos

@@donmcgimpsey1706 I just hate showing the boring parts. I watched this video this morning because I was busy and noticed I didn't edit out the camera moving...ugh. it's my videoing and editing style. Thanks for the suggestion. Have a great weekend.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that splitter. Most homesteaders don’t require a $15,000 wood splitter. That splitter is fast and seems to split everything you put in front of it.
    Have good weekend Jerry

Good morning Jerry , the 3 channels that I know of that run the super splitter have nothing but great things to say about them . I honestly wish I had done more research 3 yrs ago before I bought my splitter . My Countyline is a great machine and the price I got it for was great also but know I know more , I would like a couple of more options in a splitter . Have a great weekend . 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵

@@inthebackyardwithdel438 thank you Del. I didn't know much about them either until I saw some channels running them as well. It didn't take long to convince. My hydraulic splitter is slow but served me well for 20 plus years. Have a great weekend buddy.
