I think that swamper was slowing her down! LOL!! My wife has that same kind of smile every time while watching wood being milled and looking at freshly milled lumber!! It just doesn't make sense that a blade would break almost before it even starts cutting, unless maybe it rides up on the shoulder of a guide wheel??
I wonder if I should open the cabinet and strap my GoPro and see what's happening. My run-out is virtually perfect. I just thought of something on this topic as I write. I'm going to check my drive belt tension and maybe give it a bit more "tightness"? I put this belt on a long time ago and to be truthfully I'm not in the habit of checking it. Maybe it's doing something funny like you suggest. It's really frustrating. On another note I've been making fillet knives out of them lol.
@@BigelowWoodcraft If they are going to deal you lemons, at least you are making lemonade!! I often wondered if old blades could be forged into knife blades, but never thought of a blade as is???
Jerry spend every minute you can with your lovely wife life can be cruel I lost my wife to a heart attack last week love and treasure Jill best wishes to you both
You handled that "just a little thicker" board like a guy that wants to keep a helper around. Smart move on your part. As soon as the blade exited I could see it was about an 1/8 maybe 1/4 thicker. She must have caught the difference but was already into the cut. That's what they make planners for.
@@jims6308 I think you nailed it. I occasionally do it as well. And I have a planer lol. I'm keeping her. I just hope I can afford her lol. Have a great week.
Well thats it now, Jill needs her own channel now 😄 ill subscibe to that. On a scale from 1 to changing your underpants, how much did you poop yourself when you went down low to see that blade 😳 😄 even i jumped a little bit. Cant believe your still getting blade breaks, it has to be the quality of the bands surely now.
I'm sure it's the bands. I was actually looking at my lifting screw. The bearing I installed had little clearance when I built this modification. It was hitting the upright bushing. I didn't realize it. It happened when I loosened all the bolts to rack the carriage to get the blade level. I was checking to see why the mill wouldn't go all the way down to 3/4. Yeah I'm getting pretty numb to the band breakage. I barely flinch any longer. You know what bands I've not broken? Any 10 degree rippers blades. I've not broken one of them yet...that I recall. I must have gotten a full box of bad 7 degree blades. I'm hoping to try out the stellite blades tomorrow. Jill, did you hear Nick? He said you need a channel lol.
@BigelowWoodcraft 😄 youve had enough of them to get used to it now for sure. Yes your maybe onto something there bud. Yes Jill, get the camera out and show the life 😄
We would appreciate it if you would subscribe. It really helps the channel. Thank you.

Good job Jill. Jerry, you might become permanent swamper! 🤣
She did great. I'll take that job lol.
Awesome job Jill! I don’t know if I would order more of those blades. They seam to break often.
She did great. I've not ordered them yet. I heard about the Norwood stellite blades and may but 5 to give a run.
