good morning Jerry I changed my old hydraulic splitter put the wedge on the ram works really well on the big knarly pieces because the block isn't moving away from you a lot easier on a old man not dragging those big blocks around fairly easy retro fit for your old hydraulic splitter just a thought have a great weekend
Good morning glen. That's a great idea. What I did is I actually put my hydraulic splitter up on my hay wagon in the vertical position. I hate using those vertical splitters on the ground. So maybe I created a redneck Wolf ridge 17 vs LOL. I'm not tried it out yet though, soon. Have a great weekend.
Hey Jerry , you did have one busy day . Good to see you had the CEO running the mill . 😂 that is strange how the camera has the wave effect when the Honda is running . 👍🏻🇺🇸
She actually does pretty good. Next Tuesday's video she's in charge. Well actually she's always in charge lol. I have seen a ripple on somebody else's video but I can't remember who. Occasionally I get it with the sawmill but nothing like this. I tried turning off the stabilization on the camera. I'm not sure if it's going to make a difference or not. Time will tell. Thanks Del. Have a great weekend.
@@terryatpi I do have it but I'm able to edit it out often or it's very light compared to this. I left this footage in hoping someone would have an answer. Todd from @toddsoutsideagain mentioned he switched to a heavier tripod. I'm hoping that's it. Thanks Terry. Have a great week. Those 70s were magical lol
Productive day for sure! I would always get that ripple effect if I got the camera too close to the splitter. I think it might be the vibration in the ground because I changed tripods and it has stopped. 🤷♂️ Take care Jill and Jerry👍🏻👍🏻
Look out Jill is taking over. I get that same rippling when I try to get close ups on the mill. I normally don’t use the footage. It’s irritating to say the least. Those big knotty pieces are more trouble than they are worth. A hydraulic splitter would be better for that for sure. Have a good weekend
Wait till you see what I've done this time mike. I threw my hydraulic splitter up on my hay wagon and I might use it as a vertical splitter up there. I haven't tried it yet though. I hate using those vertical splitters on the ground. Jill actually kicks butt on the sawmill. You'll see that come next Tuesday. Thanks buddy you have a great weekend.
That ripple motion is most likely due to having the anti-shake (video stabilization) turned on in your camera. The frequency of the motor (around 3500 rpms is my guess) messes with it.
We would appreciate it if you would subscribe. It really helps the channel. Thank you.

Never seen that oscillation on any of your videos before. Reminds me of the late 70s lol.

How did the Assistant Sawyer do??? The Swamper looked a little slow, but he is a rookie at it after all!! LOL!!
Tim, she did great. You'll have to watch next week's video. Let's just say swamping is hard work lol. Have a great weekend.

@@BigelowWoodcraft I’ve actually considered doing that with my old Husksee splitter just never followed through with the idea. Time is my enemy

I do have it on. I tried a heavier tripod and still did it. I'll turn it off when it's on the tripod. Great suggestion. Thank you.
