    You need 6 guns, ultimately. 1. A .22 rifle. 2. A .22 handgun. Preferably a revolver. 3. A 12 ga. pump shotgun with interchangeable chokes. 4. A high powered rifle for big game. My choice? A bolt action 30-06. Properly used, it will drop everything on the NA continent. 5. A heavy handgun. The choices here are endless. I have a colt Python. 6. An AR-15 in the current military round. This last is useful for hunting small to medium game, self defence, and rebellion if necessary.

    That's fascinating. I live in Texas…no real moisture like that. But I am wanting to put some juniper tree trunks on sonotube piles for the height I needed. For a brush arbor. Would be easier to do what you did…but wasn't sure it wouldn't move. Maybe the square design of yours contributes to stability? Mine will be a double rowed arch measuring about 25'. 10" - 14" trunk circumfrance..maybe 9' high. Would have cross pieces at top of arbor.

      @@armageddon1403 no That would be my pick to do everything. Not any one thing the best mind you. I know it’s not the greatest self protection weapon, I get it. It’s easily maintained and less to go wrong than anything with more moving parts and you can change the caliber to many different things with adaptors to take different game. That was the point of the video. If I went deer hunting tomorrow I would use my rifle and if I decided to grouse hunt I would grab my over under 20 and if Red Dawn 2 broke out I would get my AR. If someone said I can only have one of my guns and have to use it for my lifetime I would grab my single 12. You can do whatever you think is best for you.

    H&R used to have single shot long guns that you could buy 12 ga firearm and order a different barrel. Don't know if going from center fire shells to rimfire could be done. I would rather have either 12ga pump or semiauto for rapid follow up for self defense, which is number 1 priority, and single shot 22lr. Great video

  • @BearClawAK47
    @BearClawAK47 26 днів тому

    I'd have to agree with you on about 80% of your reasons. The single shot has no advantage over a high capacity pump for self-defense. All you could say is that it better than nothing. Ideally, a single barrel 3 1/2" mag with a polychoke and an array of chamber inserts gives you the most utility and versatility.

    12 gauge is definitely the ONE. But in grizz country I’m going pump with at least 6rd capacity. My shorty benelli 12g will do 8#1 of 2-3/4 or 7+1 of 3in 6+1 of 3.5 magnum loads and it’s exactly 40inches long so quite compact. Full synthetic and will cycle absolutely anything 12g on any shelf in the world.

    I have to laugh, I was watching your video and my wife was in the next room, when I was done she says “what were you watching ?” I explained to her about the place you and your wife are building and she says “ I heard him say something about too much wood”. Hahaha yep ! We live in a log house that we built 34 years ago and we have pine log walls, v-groove pine interior walls and a v-groove pine cathedral ceiling because I loathe Sheetrock. We did put some Sheetrock walls in the living area down in the basement and I did that stucco look you are talking about. I am not a Sheetrock guy and that stucco hides all of my bad joints etc. Just felt like I wanted to relay that. Keep up the good work !
