VERY FUN Gun to shoot, but just not reliable enough for me! I built one w/ 20" Bull Barrel for long range accuracy w/ lower cost ammo but unfortunately am not a fan of MY FYI BUILD! Not happy with stoppages needed to clear out a no shot rounds. This is a deal breaker for me at the range so it WILL NOT stay as-is in my collection. Granted, my DYI build may have not been done correctly! However, I will no longer chase this rabbit down the hole to better understand how to fix my issues. AR-15's were designed for .223/5.56 ammo and should only be refined for this ammo in my opinion! God's speed to you wonderful DYI folks who enjoy chasing this option and make it work! I however will stick with 5.56 in the AR platform and consider purchasing something else designed for this 7.62 caliber. God Bless and stay engaged in our 2A passion!

Thank you for your content, Im also a subscriber to Brent0331 , The Camo Matrix , etc. but here's the thing, yes, its true, ACU is super available and cheap, but to start dyeing it in vats, risking chemical burns and all that, I would rather get it professionally dyed, but for the cost of doing that, you might as well get some ((gucci-flage) camo from Gulch gear or Phantomleaf for that matter, it doesn't make sense otherwise. just my opinion though.

I know this video is a year old, though I wanted to chime in with my experience. I have been building AR-47s since the barrels have been available. I have learned a lot and even used one in the rifle classes I taught. If you buy a Bear creek, don't get the side charger. Why? Because you want a entirely different BCG in it from black rifle arms. You can only replace the bolt when you go with the side charger. I actually had over 20k rounds on a BCA 7.62x39 upper with a full BRA bolt carrier in it. The Bear Creek extractor broke after 300 rounds and the bolt face blew at 650. They were very quick in replacing the part, but I decided to upgrade them instead. The enhanced firing pin BCA uses is still very brittle and they break anywhere from 10-200 rounds. At one point bear creek gave everyone 2-3 extra because of all the issues they had with them breaking. The bear creek barrel was excellent and the only reason I replaced it after 20+k rounds was because the rifling was almost gone. It would still hold 4-6 inch groups at 100 but I really got my money from it and it was time to replace it. At that time bear creek barrels were extremely cheap, I think it was like 55$ so I ordered another one. I didn't even ask them to replace it but I am sure they would have. Now the BCA barrels are 100$ or more and you could easily get a Faxxon from Right to bear for about the same price. The Right to bear branded stuff is either aero, bear creek, or ballistic advantage rebranded stuff. I find nothing wrong with buying a bear creek 7.63x39 but if you do, account for the added expense of the black rifle arms complete bolt carrier group with firing pin. With that added, you are equal to the price of a PSA with much better reliability because of the Black rifle arms upgrades.

Then glue the paper on cardboard, then packing taped cover. Then use hand brushed on black acrylic enamel paint. (yes, takes longer to dry) The shot effect is much better and easier to see out further. You should try it 😉

Buffers can be tricky. Start carbine 3 .oz and spring. Heavy buffers can cause misfeeds from well functioning mags. KAK uppers seem to be gassed well and are from a company doing the 47 platform for some time. BRA bolts run full auto all day. An awesome round to run short with little loss of effectiveness, more so from a reliable platform.

Building a x39 patrol rifle. Have a BCA side charger, but it's too front heavy with a Sandman S suppressor. Starting with a PWS 16" piston upper Gen2 MK 116. Using an Aero Precision M4E1 receiver with a Rise Armament LE 145 single stage drop in trigger. Armaspec Stealth H2 captured recoil buffer, forward controls REF buffer tube, end cap and castle nut. Ambi safety and mag release because I'm a southpaw. Eotech EXPS 3-0 on top. I'm almost 64 and most of my battle rifles just aren't practical. I prefer the ergonomics of the AR platform, and a 30 cal. round. The linear recoil impulse of the AR is much better than the AK, it's lightweight, and reliable. I'm not a sniper, my intent is for fast, reasonably accurate shots and a platform I can trust my life to. In reality, the ranges I anticipate engagement to be 400 yards and under. Since my wife is paralyzed from a stroke, I'll be hunkering down. Normal velocity 7.62x39 suppresses well enough. The can is more for flash mitigation. I'm putting a B5 Sopmod stock on it. I like the cheekweld it has. Just putting this out there. Still putting it together. Just got out of the hospital after a week in the ICU, so I can't do much now. I just can't wait to put it through the paces. Love my guns. Thanks for the excellent video. Have a great day!

Well with the Mutant/Mk.47, it's actually a properly-sized but proprietary bolt. It's essentially a scaled down .308 bolt (or scaled-up AR-15 bolt) that has beefy bolt lugs and extractor. It solves the AR-47 shortcomings!
